The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains
Chapter 170 Thinking of Each Other

Bryan sighed. "Meeting Michael was a mistake from the get-go. Bet he told you the same thing, huh?"

Emily stared at the empty milk cup on the table, listening to Bryan's story about how he and Michael met, became friends, and then enemies. It wasn't much different from Michael's version, but people always liked to make excuses for themselves.

For instance, Bryan thought he had a ton of pressure on him his family, the Watsons, his parents, and Mabel.

He seemed like the typical rich kid, the heir to a fortune, but Bryan would rather live a simple life, just chilling in peace.

Listening to this, Emily felt Bryan was a bit out of touch with reality.

She also knew the gap between the rich and the poor was like a walled city; the poor wanted in, and the rich wanted out.

"If you think it was a mistake, then why do you have so many photos of you two at home? Are you trying to constantly remind yourself that your past was a mistake?" Emily asked seriously.

Maybe these questions hit a nerve, or maybe Bryan just didn't know how to answer. He turned around, looking at the empty milk cup on the table, and frowned. "Maybe I should put some sleeping pills in your milk."

Emily knew he was just annoyed by her talking too much and did it on purpose.

She smirked and continued. "I thought you didn't like to talk, but it turns out you're funnier than Michael when you joke. Alright, I'm going to sleep now. Thanks for letting me crash here tonight. Don't worry, I won't tell Michael about these photos as a return favor."

"What did you say? Emily and Bryan are together?" Hearing those two names together, Michael instantly lost it, and the invisible pressure exploded in his mind.

Abigail said, "I'm telling you this not to make you blame Emily! She had nowhere to go after you left her, and she was seriously hurt, bleeding a lot. If I weren't out of town and couldn't get back in time, I wouldn't need you to replace her! And now you're blaming her? You're worse than your cold-hearted friend! And Michael, I'm warning you, you'd better leave right now..."

Before Abigail could finish, the line was already dead.

Michael almost bolted out of Emerald Lake Manor, ready to drive a new car to pick up Emily.

As for Abigail, she hung up the phone with a smug, gritted-teeth expression. "That bastard Michael! You never cared about Emily, so now it's your turn to worry!"

Injured? How did Emily get hurt? Did she fall on a dark road? Or did she run into some robbers?

The more Michael thought about it, the more anxious he became. He almost floored the gas pedal, speeding all the way.

To be honest, he was surprised himself.

When he got Abigail's call and heard all this, his first reaction wasn't to blame Emily for being at Bryan's house. Instead, he wanted to know where she was hurt and how serious it was.

Michael couldn't help but wonder what kind of feelings he had for Emily. How did it gradually become different from before?

Ten minutes later, Michael arrived at Bryan's house.

What surprised him even more was that he didn't even need navigation to remember the route to Bryan's house, just like three years ago. He remembered the buildings, floors, and units by heart. It was too strange. Michael was furious; none of this should have happened.

At that moment, Emily was already getting ready for bed, but the urgent knocking on the door startled her to get up again.

Bryan also came out of the inner room, already in his pajamas, lazily glancing at Emily before going to open the door. Suddenly, Emily heard the door being slammed open.

Michael burst in, seeing Emily sitting alone on the sofa, and then noticing Bryan in his pajamas, he immediately became furious and punched Bryan.

Bryan, of course, didn't have time to dodge and was thrown into the corner.

"Michael, what are you doing!" Seeing this, Emily hurriedly rushed forward and pulled Michael away. "Can't you talk things out? Is violence the only thing you know?"

Seeing Emily, Michael immediately understood that Abigail had set him up.

Emily was perfectly fine, even surprisingly well. She looked radiant, seemingly getting along well with Bryan.

Michael couldn't help but laugh at himself; he had been worried all the way for nothing.

Michael shouted, "Bryan, are you trying to get back at me? Three years ago, you didn't hurt me enough! Now you're using my wife to hurt me again! What are your intentions? Do you believe I won't let you..."

As he spoke, Michael raised his fist again, ready to punch Bryan in the face.

But Emily slapped him.

The scene froze instantly.

Emily frowned, tears in her eyes, looking at Michael with immense disappointment. "I thought you had changed, but you're still so unreasonable. What do you think we were doing? Having an affair?"

With that, Emily pointed at the photos in the house and continued to Michael. "Look closely, these are all photos of you two. If you both miss each other's past, why pretend to be enemies? I really don't understand you two! If you know what's good for you, stop fighting!"

With that, Emily walked up and closed the door.

Then she turned to Bryan. "Go take care of your wound."

Bryan didn't expect Michael to visit suddenly, leaving him no chance to hide the photos.

Seeing these photos, Michael felt a moment of awkwardness, realizing that Bryan had been reminiscing about their past.

So what were they both being so stubborn about these days?

Bryan took care of his wound, and more than an hour had passed.

The three of them had calmed down a lot.

Emily looked at Michael, who was sitting on the sofa with his head down, and had almost gotten the full story from Abigail.

It turned out that Michael had lost control when he first came in, thinking she was hurt and worried...

Emily sighed deeply as Bryan slowly walked out of the room.

"Are you okay?" This was Emily asking on behalf of Michael.

Michael also glanced at Bryan, his eyes flickering, clearly wanting to know if Bryan was seriously hurt.

They both missed and cared for each other, yet acted so stubbornly.

Emily couldn't help but come up with a plan to teach these two men a good lesson.
