The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains -
Chapter 201 Benjamin's Scheme
Abigail shook her head, "Emily, I can't believe it. You can't just let people walk all over you like this!"
Emily looked puzzled, "What are you talking about?"
Abigail sighed, "I mean, you're barely holding it together yourself, and you're still worried about Sophia!"
Emily looked down, feeling a bit embarrassed, but Abigail wasn't done. "Emily, have you thought about what people online will say when you and Michael announce your divorce, and then he goes public with Sophia? They're going to tear you apart!" Emily shrugged, "I don't care."
Abigail was taken aback by Emily's bluntness.
Emily just gave a slight smile and let Abigail finish her rant. Then she said, "Abigail, it's not that I want this. It's just that, compared to everything else, those years with Michael were the worst."
Emily continued, "Sometimes I wonder if he was sent to punish me. Being with him was more pain than joy, and I didn't even see it. I was so stupid, always thinking about him... Thank goodness this isn't ancient times, or he might have killed me."
Abigail was shocked, "Emily, what are you saying?"
Abigail was at a loss for words, feeling a deep anger towards Michael for what he put Emily through.
Emily smiled, "It's okay. My new life starts now. Abigail, you have no idea how happy I am. I'm free. I'm not just a housewife anymore. I'm going to work hard, take care of my mom, and of course, help you out with rent..."
Seeing Emily's positive attitude, Abigail felt relieved. She turned the steering wheel and grinned, "What are you talking about? My place is your place. Stay as long as you want. Forget about rent!"
The Smith family had connections all over Emerald City.
So when Benjamin used Mason's name to dig up info, it was always quick and thorough.
Soon, Mason found out about Sophia's pregnancy.
Mason was stunned, "Pregnant? Sophia's having a Smith family baby?"
Benjamin nodded, "Yep."
Seeing Mason's shock, Benjamin wasn't surprised, but he looked serious. "It's been over two months. She went to the hospital to check. I confirmed it. If you do the math... it was when she was with Mr. Michael Smith." Mason's face fell. He sighed, realizing things just got a lot more complicated. "She's lucky to have this kid."
"So, what's the plan now?" Benjamin asked, ready to take action.
Sophia might be pregnant, but that didn't mean just anyone could waltz into the Smith Mansion. If it were that easy, the Smith family would be in chaos!

Mason shook his head, "I just don't get it. Emily was with Michael for almost three years and never got pregnant. But Sophia? She's already two months along."
He sighed again, feeling completely drained. He got up to head back to his room, his steps unsteady, his whole demeanor screaming exhaustion, which worried Benjamin.
Benjamin tried to comfort him, "Mr. Mason Smith, we have options. We can replace a way for Mrs. Smith to get pregnant too. Since she and Mr. Michael Smith aren't divorced yet, their child would be your legitimate grandchild." "Sophia's kid would be illegitimate. We could bring the child here and raise it. It'd be better off with us than with her."
"Otherwise, the kid might compete with Mrs. Smith's child for the inheritance. That'd be a huge mess. You need to think about this, Mr. Mason Smith. Families like ours can't afford to be careless!"
Benjamin's words made sense, and Mason knew it. But he was too tired to think about it now. He just waved Benjamin off and trudged back to his room.
Seeing this, Benjamin clenched his fists in frustration. He knew he was right and couldn't stand seeing Mason so distressed. So he decided to take matters into his own hands and contacted Emily and Michael. Emily was puzzled, "What item?"
As soon as she got home, she got a call from Benjamin. She glanced at the diamond ring Mason had given her. What could be missing?
Emily said, "Alright, Benjamin, I'll come by later."
Benjamin replied, "Okay, see you then."
From the bedroom, Abigail, now in her comfy pajamas, overheard and couldn't help but complain. "I don't get the Smith family. I've seen rich families before, but they have so much drama! Didn't they just call you back this morning?" Emily smiled helplessly and explained, "Benjamin said Grandpa was supposed to give me something today. But things got chaotic, and Grandpa was upset with Michael, so he forgot."
"Grandpa knows I won't be coming back often, so he asked Benjamin to call me to come get it. Since Michael won't be around, I can also pack up my things from the Smith Mansion."
Emily had no idea that Benjamin had set a trap for her and Michael.
Meanwhile, Benjamin had also called Michael.
Michael asked, "What item? From Grandpa? Has he come around?"
After a few questions, Michael's expression turned cold. Maybe Benjamin said something reassuring.
Michael reluctantly agreed, "Alright, I get it. I'll come by later."
After hanging up, Benjamin took a deep breath. As Mason's right-hand man, he knew he had to step up for the family.
