The CEO's Lovely Twins
Chapter 223 Get Her, And We Shall Get The Money

The car was stuck in heavy traffic. They were moving slowly like a snail on the road. When the traffic was about to turn better, they prepared to speed the car, but someone in the car shouted, "Stop the car!"

"What?"

Baron, Nathan, Scarlett and Stella were stunned.

Scarlett reacted first. She quickly grabbed Hayden's arm.

"What are you doing? You promised not to get yourself involved in the mess."

Hayden frowned. She sounded panicky while looking outside of the window, "Aunt Scarlett, this is an emergency."

Hayden wasn't just being soft-hearted. It was because she had empathy for these people. All lives should be respected and treated seriously.

The traffic light turned green. Baron didn't know what to do at first but after he got a signal from Nathan, he pulled over to the side of the road.

Scarlett looked angry, "Hayden, do you think you are invincible with the support of Joseph? We are talking about a group of companies. Do you know that it is basically a black hole if there's a loophole in their financial status? How do you expect yourself to fill a black hole?"

Hayden's mind went blank the moment she heard Joseph's name.

Scarlett didn't know that they broke up, and Hayden didn't have the chance to clarify.

"Aunt Scarlett, do you really think it is best to let the ST Group go into bankruptcy?" Hayden calmed down and looked at Scarlett in her eyes.

"It wasn't just my father's business. It was my mother's too."

Scarlett was stunned, and her hands frozen.

It was too long ago. She has almost forgotten that ST Group was related to her best friend. Scarlett didn't want to be reminded that her best friend used to be involved in the ST Group.

Florence was initially one of the largest shareholders of ST Group, and she was one of the significant members of the board. When she passed away, Florence's family hated Brook so much that they didn't want to have anything to do with ST Group. So they let go of Florence's part of the share at a low price.

"I've paid two hundred thousand RMB down payments for the new project from ST Group, and I have borrowed loan from all of my relatives. ST Group ended up abandoning the project. Now my girlfriend broke up with me, and my father went into stroke after knowing the news. I still need to pay for his medical fee, but it's been half a year I didn't receive my salary."

It was windy on the rooftop on the 35th floor. The black leather jacket the man wearing was worn out. His lips were chapped, and his face was flushing red out of agitation. The man blamed all his unfortunate experiences on ST Group. He shouted, "I will jump if I don't receive my money! I will haunt each and every one of you who work here!"

The crowd of peasants were encouraged by the man and got agitated.

A thin woman rushed out from the crowd and approached the fire fighters. She walked into the building after clarifying her identity and intention.

"The owners of the ST Group are bastards. No one dares to come forward for negotiation. It seems like I am not getting my money back. I should jump down from here now."

"Calm down! We have informed the board members of the ST Group."

The fire fighters were about five to six metre away from the man in the black jacket. Everyone was intense and was thinking about all kinds of countermeasures.

"You only have one life. You might not have the money now, but you can always earn your money back."

"What's the purpose of living when I don't have money?"

The man in the leather jacket didn't take in any bits of advice. He was furious, "Don't come near me. I will jump if no one from the ST Group responds to my request on the count of three." "They are on their way."

"One."

"Calm down!"

"Two."

"Team two get ready to relocate the air mattress."

"Three."

"Wait a minute!"

Hayden ran out from the stairwell the moment the man counted to three. She panted and waved at the man in the leather jacket from far.

"Don't jump! I...I'll give you your money."

The man in the leather jacket was stunned, "Who are you?"

"Didn't you want to talk to the person-in-charge of the ST Group? I am the person-in-charge."

"Don't lie to me. I won't believe just anybody. I knew the faces of the bosses of ST Group. You weren't one of them!"

The man in the leather jacket was furious, "You guys should put in more effort if you want me to believe your story! This little girl won't win my trust."

Hayden calmed down after she caught her breath. She looked at the man calmly, "My name is Hayden Downey. You've never met me. Many staff in ST Group have never met me either, but I am the daughter of Brook Downey. I have obligations towards the ST Group. Didn't you want your money back? I can pay you back."

The man in the leather jacket was stunned, "For real?"

"This is my ID card. Come have a look for yourself if you don't believe me."

Hayden took her ID card out and raised it in the air, "The Lord will strike me with lightning if I lied to you."

The man in the leather jacket hesitated. He stared at Hayden's ID card slowly walked down from the edge.

The fire fighters immediately held the man in the leather jacket down onto the ground.

He screamed, "Let go of me! Let go..."

The man in the leather jacket struggled and shouted angrily, "You tricked me! You tricked me!"

Hayden took a breath of relief.

The man in the leather jacket walked past Hayden while he held down by the fire fighters and polices. He looked like he was going to launch an attack anytime. When he saw the ID card in Hayden's hand, his expression became complicated.

Hayden dazed for a moment. A voice rose from her back when she was about to ask a question.

"Thanks for your help. Which team are you from? I've never seen you before."

She turned around and saw a young fire fighter.

He thought she was a plainclothes police officer.

Hayden shook her head, "I'm not police. I'm just a by-passer."

"Is that so? You are quick-witted."

"I'm just telling the truth."

Hayden went down the building after the fire fighters. The crowd of peasants and onlookers surrounded the main entrance of the building.

The policemen were afraid that the man in the leather jacket would do anything irrational again, so they held him down tightly while walking him to the ambulance. They planned to bring him to see a psychotherapist. Judging from the way he talked, the man might have been experiencing mental issues.

Hayden was told that the man didn't have any girlfriend and he hadn't pay a two hundred thousand RMB down payment at all.

Right before the man got sent into the ambulance, he turned around and shouted, "She's the daughter of Brook Downey! Get her, and we shall get our money back!"
