Chapter 251

"Which youngster doesn't have a mortgage nowadays when they want to buy a house? You're thirtyand living off your parents, and how can you dare to pay in full for a house in the city? You thinkyou're some trust fund kid?” Jelena scoffed.

Ritchie shot her a venomous look and said, “Shut up, Jelena. No one asked for your opinion.”

Jelena chuckled and said derisively, “Keep doing then. You just keep living off your parents. What doyou do when your parents can't support you in life?”

Jolin took over, “Jelena is not wrong. If you can't afford it, get a mortgage. Get a job, and worktogether with your wife to pay off the loan. You're thirty, Ritchie, stop loafing around.”

Aurelia sighed inwardly. Emma might be pretending to be a rich girl, but at least she graduatedfrom a good college and even spent two years as an exchange student in England.

Ritchie dropped out after middle school and went to a vocational school. His parents found him ajob, but he quit because he didn’t want to get up early. Ever since then, he'd been living off hisparents. So, in this marriage, Emma seemed to be the one who got the short end of the stick.

Perla, hearing her son being berated, grew upset. She loved her son dearly, and she didn't mind himliving off

them.

“Ritchie isn't just loafing around, and he live-streams his gaming. He can make a few hundreddollars a month. How many youngsters are willing to endure hardships nowadays? Many have quittheir jobs to live—stream or make short videos. Jelena, you do the same, don't you?”

“I'm signed with a company. I have to go to work every day.” Jelena pouted.

Belinda, having her chicken noodle soup, said slowly, “You don't have to sell the ancestral house.Aurelia is marrying into the Stirling family. I heard those rich people were generous when preparingwedding. Why not use some of wedding fund to buy Ritchie a house? Ritchie is Zack's nephew, practically his son. It's only right for him to help Ritchie. Later, they can arrange a job for Ritchie, something easy with a high salary. A daughter marrying into a rich family should help her ownfamily. If she can't help, why marry at all?”

Jolin chuckled, “When Avery fell ill, you and Rahul didn't do anything. The hospital bills were paid bymy family. The Stirling family can help my family if they want, not those who are unwilling to lift afinger.”

With that, she stood up and said, “I'll pay for the meal, and you all enjoy. We won't stick around.”Ritchie, seeing no progress on the house payment, grew angry. He blocked the exit, “I've alreadypaid the deposit for the house. If you're not going to help with the payment, you're not getting outof here.”

“Ritchie, have you lost your mind?” Jelena tried to push him aside, but he roughly pushed her back. She nearly fell, and Jolin caught her.

Perla didn't stop Ritchie instead of egging him on, “Ritchie, lock the door. No one’s leaving untilwe've

settled this.”

Jolin should agree to sell the house or give the money. If being nice wouldn't work, they would haveto play hardball.

Just as Ritchie was about to close the door, a boot swung in from outside, kicking the door wideopen. The force sent Ritchie stumbling several steps backward before he fell to the ground.

Ferne burst in, shielding Aurelia, “Ms. Aurelia, are you alright?”

“I'm fine.” Aurelia shook her head.

Ritchie had fallen flat on his back. Perla and Belinda rushed over to help him up.

“My dear boy, are you hurt?”

Ritchie was furious, and he glared at Ferne, panting heavily, “Who the hell are you butting in?”Aurelia said coldly, “She is my assistant.”

Jelena was indignant and said, “Ritchie, you think you're in the Hawthorne mansion where you canact like a brat? Aurelia is carrying the Stirling family's grandchild. If you dare hurt her, the Stirlingfamily will settle the score. Perla’s crying and tantrums won't save you then, and they might even begoing down with you.”
