After taking some cold medicine, Arnold caught up on some sleep and felt significantly better. Hewas just about to give them a call when they walked in. A small smile played on his lips, “Williammust be hungry, how about we all go grab something to eat at the

diner?”

Kane curiously sized him up, pondering the relationship between him and his mother.

Aurelia was trying hard to maintain her composure, deciding not to spill the beans about herencounter with Leopold. “Let's order room service. William caught a cold too, he has a slight fever.”Arnold quickly scooped up the child and laid him on the bed, feeling his forehead, “He's a bit warm.Did we buy lemons?”

It was common to give children lemon water after they catch a cold, using lemon slices to helpreduce their temperature physically.

Aurelia nodded, washing and slicing the lemons.

Arnold was about to cool the child's feet when he quickly pulled them back.

“I can do it myself.” Ever since Kane could remember, he had been very independent, refusingothers’ help whenever he was capable of doing things by himself.

Arnold didn't catch on to his abnormal behavior and simply smiled, “Just lay back and relax. Letdaddy handle it.”

Daddy?

Kane was taken aback. Could this man be his mother’s new husband? Does his mother

not want his father anymore?

A wild guess suddenly popped into his head: Mommy must have amnesia and doesn’t rememberhim or his father!

The TV shows that Laura watches always have such plots. Nine out of ten female leads

suffer from amnesia!

While he was contemplating, Arnold gently started cooling his feet. Even though he wanted toreject the help again, he held back his urge to avoid arousing suspicion.

Aurelia brought him some chewable children’s vitamin C, “You and daddy should each have a bowlof soup later, it'll help with the cold.”

Kane turned his head and noticed the phone watch on the nightstand. It must belong to William. Healso has one, but it's charging in his room. If he was here, then where was William?

Meanwhile, William had already been escorted back to his room by the bodyguards. Laura

brought him dinner, “Young master, you must be hungry. Have some chicken soup before yourmeal.”

William was indeed hungry. He finished the chicken soup quickly and started eating heartily.Suddenly, the watch phone on the desk rang. He was surprised to see that it was his own numbercalling.

He waved Laura away, "Could you please leave for a moment? I need to talk to a... friend.”“Alright,” Laura left the room

He quickly closed the door and answered the call.

Kane's voice came from the other side, “Is this William?"

William was taken aback, “You're Kane? You're in my room?”

Kane replied, “Yeah, your mom mistook me for you.”

William said, “Your family's bodyguards mistook me for you too. Why do we look so alike?”

Kane said, “I don't know. How about we switch back in a few days?”

William agreed, “Okay.”

Next, they exchanged some information to avoid any slip-ups.

As night fell, Aurelia sat by the window, gazing at the rolling waves in the distance, her

mind in turmoil.

What was she worrying about?

She and Leopold were divorced. Whoever she wanted to be with, whatever life she wanted to lead,it was none of his business.

The only concern was William. She couldn't let Leopold know about his existence, or else he wouldcertainly try to take him away. He didn't deserve to be William's father, because he was the one whogave William up!

She didn't sleep well that night and had many dreams.

At dawn, she went to the beach alone, staring blankly at the horizon, where the sun was about torise, but everything was still vague and indistinguishable.

“Aurelia!” A hoarse voice echoed through the sea breeze.

Her heart tightened in alarm. Slowly turning around, she saw Leopold standing behind her, staringat her without blinking, pain burning in his eyes.
