Chapter 372

Lisa swiveled her head, looking towards the nearby shoreline where Aurelia was delightfullychasing the lapping waves.

Leopold watched her, his eyes filled with adoration.

“It's been a while since we've been to the beach,” she smiled, “If it were summer, we could goswimming.” Now, her leg was completely healed, and she could swim freely.

Leopold's thin lips curved in a charming smile, “When summer comes, I'll take you and the kids outto sea for some real fun.”

Aurelia glanced towards where the children were, but didn’t see William. She guessed he had leftwith Arnold, since he too wasn't around.

William was the family’s little ray of sunshine. With him around, she believed Arnold would getbetter soon.

Her gaze then fell on Lisa, who was also looking at her. Their eyes met briefly before skitteringaway.

Aurelia hoped that Arnold and Lisa would become a loving couple. If she and Arnold were destinedto be star—crossed lovers, she wished that Arnold could replace a pure and beautiful wife and have ahappy family. But this marriage seemed fraught with schemes.

These schemes wouldn't just hurt Arnold, they could potentially threaten Leopold.

Aurelia couldn't stand by and let that happen.

Leopold was the father of her children. If something happened to him, her children wouldundoubtedly be the next victims. She would never allow anyone to harm her children, even if itmeant risking her own life to ensure her children’s safety!

“Magnolia must have arranged Arnold's marriage to Lisa because she values the Desan family'sinfluence, right?”

Leopold raised his hand to caress Aurelia’s head, “Don’t worry, she can't stir up a storm.”

Aurelia’s eyes darkened, “I'm afraid she’s not alone. She may have accomplices.”

Her words hit the nail on the head.

Leopold had considered this possibility. His men had been keeping a close eye on Magnolia andMarcia's every move.

“Remember, don't trust anyone but me.”

Aurelia was Leopold's weakness. Only if she was safe and sound could he focus on dealing with theevil people hiding in the shadows, eliminating them one by one, and preventing future troubles.Aurelia’s lips curved in a noncommittal smile, “Don’t worry, I won't hold you back.”

Once bitten, twice shy. She wouldn't act impulsively like she did three years ago.

On the beach, many people were watching them. Lizzy felt a mix of envy and resentment. How shewished she was the woman in Leopold's arms!

Lisa, if you hate Aurella so much, why not replace a way to make her disappear?”

“This is the Stirlings’ territory, don't act rashly,” Lisa warned.

Lizzy pouted, “You're just too timid. If I were you, I wouldn't let that woman walk all over me”

Lisa whispered, “There are countless bodyguards of the Stirlings on this beach. Even a fly can'tescape their watchful eyes.”

Looking around, Lizzy said no more. If they were in Freysland, she would have had Aurelia killed bynow, so Leopold could be hers.

As night fell, the beach was filled with the soothing rhythm of music.

Fredric came with Sheryl. For the sake of their two daughters, they maintained a superficialharmony, treating each other with courtesy.

He called Leopold and Arnold over, and the family enjoyed dinner at an open-air restaurant by thesea.

Sheryl also called Lisa over, deliberately seating her next to Arnold.

Although Arnold was extremely disgusted, he put up with it for Sheryl’s sake.

He cut up the steak on William's plate.

Leopold, on the other hand, let Kane fend for himself.

Kane had been very independent since he was one, and didn't need any help.

The contrast between the two sets of father and son was stark.
