Chapter 397

Leopold's deep eyes flickered slightly as if he'd gleaned some insight from her words.

The corner of Megan's mouth twitched. From then on, the only woman allowed near Leopold wouldbe her. Any woman who dared to challenge her would pay the ultimate price.

"Aurelia, you need to understand,” she asserted, “in a relationship, the one not being loved is thethird wheel. Right now, you're the other woman between me and Leopold.”

She turned to Leopold and said sweetly, “Leopold, tell her you'll only love me from now on, and I'llbe the only woman in your life.”

Leopold felt disgust rising in his throat. He wanted nothing but to kick Megan out of the windowand watch her shatter against the pavement below.

“Enough,” he snapped, “this is an office, not a place for personal affairs.”

He turned to Aurelia. “I'll have my lawyer draft a new divorce agreement. You'd better sign it as fastas you can. I'm not fond of dragging things out.”

Aurelia swallowed hard. “Leopold, don't forget one thing. The head of the Stirling family breakingthe family rules will get severe punishment. And the Stirling family will never accept your mistress.Even if you marry secretly, she'll never become a Mrs. Stirling. Take a lesson from the mistakes ofyour older generation.” Her words were not only for him but for Megan as well.

A nerve in Megan's face twitched violently. She knew all well about the feud between Magnolia andJessica. The Stirling family rules were strict. While the men were allowed to marry more than onewife, the first wife always held a protected status.

In the Stirling family, the first wife held a high position, which was higher than any second wife, anddivorce without due cause was not permitted.

To date, no head of the Stirling family had managed to divorce successfully, nor had any mistressascended to the position of family matriarch.

If she wanted to ascend, she had to win Leopold's approval and the strong support of the familymatriarch

“I believe true love can conquer all,” Megan insisted, “Leopold and I have gone through so manychallenges and finally found our way back together. No one and nothing can separate us again.”She never missed a chance to flaunt her relationship with Leopold, stinging Aurelia’s heart.

Despite the pain, Aurelia refused to let Megan see her hurt and have it her way. Even if she wouldlose Leopold and her marriage, she wouldn't lose her dignity as the first wife.

Chapter 307

“Leopold is never short of women,” she retorted, “even without me, there will be others. A man’slove and sexual needs can be separate. Even if he truly loves you, it doesn’t stop him from sleepingaround. As for the divorce, I won't sign the papers as long as I'm alive. Not on your life!”

With that, she stormed out of the room

Megan gritted her teeth in frustration. If it weren't for her antibiotic, Aurelia would be facing herdeath one month later.

“Leopold, when will you finally divorce her? I don't want to wait too long. Or next month'santibiotic...”

Before she could finish, Leopold roughly pushed her to the ground

"Don’t threaten me with the antibiotic,” he warned, “if anything happens to Aurelia, you won't live asecond longer.”

His icy tone sent a chill down Megan's spine. “I just want to marry you and become your wife.”Leopold looked at her with disgust. “I'll keep my promise, but you know the Stirling family rules aswell as I do. If I divorce without the family’s approval and marry you, you'll never step foot in theStirling household, and you'll never be a Mrs. Stirling. We'll do things by the book.”

Megan clenched her jaw. She'd go see the family matriarch, Jessica. With Jessica's support, thingswould go smoothly. She'd once got injured for Leopold's sake, and Jessica was grateful for her. Shewas sure Jessica would take her side.
