Aurelia nodded in agreement.

Beverley spread the cards, and Aurelia picked the top one. It was an inverted Devil card.

“The inverted Devil card signifies escape from constraints, elimination of troubles, and relief fromillness. In terms of emotion, it means...” Beverley stopped short.

Aurelia continued, “It means parting, saying goodbye to the past mixed feelings of love and hate,and starting anew.”

It seemed her relationship with Leopold was destined to end. Their marriage had reached its end.Her current efforts were nothing but futile struggles.

Beverley quickly explained, “Aurelia, the inverted Devil is a good card, not a bad one. It meansthe devil will stay away from you. You and Leopold may go through the dark and embrace a newlife.”

A sorrowful smile slowly appeared on Aurelia’s face. She knew Beverley was trying to comfort her.Perhaps she should start planning better for the sake of Kane. Better safe than sorry.

After Beverley left, Aurelia stood by the window for a long time. The moonlight cast her shadow onthe floor. The shadow was motionless as it was engraved on the floor.

After a while, she took out her phone and dialed Arnold's number. “Arnold, I need a lawyer.”

In the study of the Stirling Mansion, the air was almost stiflingly solemn. Aurelia presented thedivorce agreement drafted by the lawyer.

“Leopold, you once promised me you would not father any illegitimate child. I also stated if youwere to remarry, that woman would have to be sterilized. I know you wouldn't bear that, so Ithought of a better solution. I will take Kane away. I will let him return to the Stirling family when heturns eighteen. If you agree, I will sign the divorce papers.”

Her son would be safest with her.

Leopold glanced at the divorce agreement, saying, “Kane is my son. He must stay in the Stirlingfamily.”

Kane walked over to Aurelia and hugged her tightly, tears welling up in his eyes.

He knew his mom was leaving. She was leaving him again.
