Chapter 441

Megan was here for the issue about Katie.

“Leopold, is Katie really pregnant, and is the child yours?”

Leopold paused his typing, leaned back in his executive chair, and took a sip from his coffee mugbefore responding coldly, “That's none of your business.”

Megan's face turned upset. “I'm your wife, Leopold. If you fathered a child out of wedlock, shouldn't you have told me?”

Leopold tapped his long fingers on the desk, a cruel smile playing on his lips. “As my wife, youshould treat all my children as your own, do you understand?”

Megan's heart pounded. Katie was pregnant before her, so Katie's child would be the elder. Shewouldn't let that happen. No one but her should bear Leopold's child.

"According to the Stirling family tradition, if a mistress gets pregnant, she should be sent abroad togive birth. Shouldn't you start making arrangements for Katie?”

Leopold's gaze darkened. “Indeed, that is a tradition, but it must be suggested by the first wife anddecided by the matriarch. You are neither, so you don't have the right to invoke this rule.”

Megan felt a surge of frustration. Was she, his wife, without any rights? Was she just a wife inname?

“The second wife is also legally recognized and protected, doesn't the Stirling family code haveanything to protect the rights of a second wife?”

Leopold was nonchalant. “The Stirling family code has been modified and perfected by generationsof patriarchs and matriarchs. But since all the matriarchs of the Stirling family have been first wives, there's no provision for the rights of the second wife.”

Megan wanted to scream. The first wife!

The mere mention of the term made her blood boil!

Once she became the matriarch, she would erase all the provisions protecting the first wife andreplace them with protections for the second wife. Anyone who disagreed would be expelled fromthe Stirling family.

“Leopold, I truly love you. Can't we go back to the time when it was just the two of us? I don't likeyou being surrounded by so many women. You used to be so aloof, not giving a second glance towomen who admired you.”

Leopold raised an eyebrow, a hint of arrogance in his smile. “I was an heir then, but now I'm thepatriarch. Can they be the same? Which Stirling man doesn't have multiple wives and mistresses? Asthe patriarch, wouldn't it be humiliating if I had only one woman?”

Megan was at a loss. Leopold's mind was a mystery to her.

1 want to be your only woman, not sharing you with anyone else. Can’t we just five like an ordinarycouple?”

Leopold sneered, “If you want to replace Aurelia, you should do better than her. If you can't be astolerant and get along with others as she did, you are not fit to be my wife, and you should stepaside.”

Megan felt like she had a bone stuck in her throat. She was sure, Aurelia’s tolerance was just anact. How could she possibly get along with Leopold's mistresses? But before Aurelia’s true colorswere revealed, she was ousted.

As she fell silent, Leopold's cold voice reached her ears again, “If there's nothing else, you canleave. I have a meeting.”

Frustrated, she left. She needed to figure out how to deal with Katie to make her miscarry.

In no time, it was Christmas.

On Christmas Eve, Rahul's family went to the Aurelia's residence for a family dinner.

Regarding Aurelia’s divorce, Perla looked gleeful.

*Aurelia, how have you been lately? You barely enjoy the life of the Stirling family’s young lady andyou were kicked out. It seems like it's not easy to be a part of a wealthy family. Without some kindof leverage, you'll be thrown out even if you marry in.”
