Chapter 470

The words struck a nerve in Aurelia, each one echoed the undeniable truth.

In her mind, Leopold didn’t care for her. It was clear that he was always dismissive. If it hadn'tbeen for Arnold stepping in to challenge him, he would never have seen the good in her.

As for Megan, he must have loved her once. The first love always had a special place in a man’sheart.

When she fell ill, he must have been unable to resist the pull of their past, reigniting his old flamefor Megan. So he wanted a divorce, to marry Megan.

He probably later discovered some dark secrets about Megan and regretted his decision, andthought of returning to Aurelia.

Megan would not agree to divorce, so he might have been digging up Megan's dirty laundry insecret, hence the six-month time frame.

When the time came and the evidence was irrefutable, she wouldn't be able to refuse a

divorce.

The more Aurelia thought about it, the more logical her speculation seemed. As for Leopold'swords, she took them with a pinch of salt.

After all, he was the proverbial silver-tongued devil, and she was nothing more than a pawn in hisgame. Her modest intelligence was no match for his cunning; she was destined to beoutmaneuvered.

"Women live for themselves, not for men. I prefer to spend my time and energy on my career, ratherthan on love and relationships. The stakes are too small,” she said, leaving with Jelena and Leah.Leah gave

her a thumbs up, “You go, Aurelia! You're the epitome of an independent woman, not like those so—called trust fund babies who have nothing better to do than chase after men. They're so petty, thinking they're all that. It's embarrassing.” She raised her voice intentionally, leaving Melissa andMegan fuming.

After shopping, Aurelia and Jelena returned to Blossom Villa, while Leah went to meet her friends.Leah headed to a secluded villa on the outskirts of town.

This was actually a secret base, equipped with state-of-the-art computer equipment.

“Boss, you're here,” a blond named Abe greeted her with a grin.

Leah pulled out a tracker, “Modify this.”

Abe understood immediately, “Got it.”

Leah poured herself a cup of coffee and sat down on the couch, “Any developments on Megan?“She already bought something from our online store. We can start monitoring her real-time Abereplied.

Leah nodded slightly, anyone who dared to bully Aurelia would face her wrath.

“Notify me immediately if there's any unusual activity.”

“Sure thing.” Abe popped a lollipop into his mouth, his face breaking into a mischievous grin, “Boss, are you still planning to be Avery's assistant?”

“I call it experiencing life,” Leah replied with a sly smile.

Abe made a face, "If you're interested in him, just go for it. It's been three years, and you still haven'tmade a move. We're all losing patience.”

Leah's face turned red. She swatted him lightly on the head, “Quit your nonsense. Who said I'minterested in him?”

Abe said, “Boss, there's no need to be shy. As the saying goes, the early bird catches the worm. Ifyou don’t make a move, someone else might beat you to it."

Leah pouted, “I know. Your current task is to keep an eye on Megan. I can handle my ownbusiness.”

That evening, Leopold arrived, parking his car not far from the villa.

Aurelia had something to discuss with him, so she left the yard and got into his car.

Leopold was sitting in the backseat, dressed casually. His hair smelled of fresh shampoo, so he musthave bathed before coming.

His car was fully customized, its performance rivaling that of the military vehicle. With a simple pressof a button, the interior was transformed into a private space.
