The CEO’S Unplanned Heir novel (Aurelia and Leopold) -
Chapter 492
Chapter 492
William couldn't wait to see the pictures of his dad in the desert and hear the stories that came withthem.
Nellie pouted. “Aren't you supposed to be helping me rehearse?”
Only then did William remember her. Being the gentleman he was and considering how prettyNellie was, he decided to continue helping her rehearse.
Aurelia handed a glass of orange juice to Arnold. “I'd love to visit the desert, too. And I want to ridea camel.”
Arnold chuckled. “Whenever you're free, I'll take you and William there.”
Aurelia smiled subtly. “I think it's about time for a vacation. My parents were even considering anoverseas trip. But we have to wait for Avery's schedule. He's got two more films lined up.”
Arnold laughed. “Avery sure knows how to keep himself busy.”
Marcia had been blacklisted in the business world by Leopold. Every investment she made failed.Leopold was the undisputed king of the business world. No one could stand against him.
Marcia had no choice but to withdraw from most companies, including Serenity Films, mainlyowned by Arnold and Avery.
Arnold took a sip of his orange juice, his expression turning thoughtful.
“My contacts abroad found some clues. In Verdecalma, there's a mysterious organization known asthe AK Group. They run a secret biological lab dedicated to researching
biological weapons. Megan might be a member of it.”
Aurelia suddenly remembered Leopold's assassination attempt six years ago. The
would-be killer had used a genetically modified snake.
Could the real target have been Leopold? Were they trying to plant Megan as a pawn by
his side?
“Does anyone from the Stirling family work in bio-research?”
The Stirling family owns a medical group and a bio-research institute. But no one specializes inbio-research.”
Arnold glanced at her. “You suspect the head of AK Group is someone from the Stirlingfamily?”
Aurelia nodded. The mastermind behind Leopold's assassination attempt could be this

no way he could have made such formidable enemies. If they wanted him dead, it was more likelyto be a power struggle.”
Arnold stroked his chin thoughtfully. “When Leopold was attacked, everyone suspected me. Twobirds with one stone, so to speak. If Leopold were to die, I'd be the prime suspect and surelyexcluded from the line of succession. Between the eldest and second sons, Jessica would choose theeldest son, whom she raised herself.” He paused and shrugged. “My eldest brother always playedthe fool, and he doesn't seem like a man of ambition or cunning. And if he were, he wouldn't havemarried Sheryl. He'd have chosen a wife who could benefit him.”
Aurelia was of the same mind.
Fredric just didn't strike her as the sly, old fox type, with hidden depths and masterful
schemes.
"And what about your second brother?” she asked.
Arnold then eliminated his second brother as a suspect. He lived overseas with his mother and onlycame back on holidays. Plus, he had some intellectual impairment due to a head injury and tookcare of his mentally unstable mother.
Aurelia was puzzled. If all of Leopold's brothers were ruled out, she couldn't think of who else itcould be. Surely it couldn't be an uncle? But they were all on the side branch of the family, and aslong as the patriarch had sons, they wouldn't be in line for succession.
“Could your father have any hidden illegitimate children?”
Considering Mr. Chad's flamboyant lifestyle, he might have slept around and left illegitimatechildren everywhere.
