Chapter 196 No Rush

Maverick was slightly furrowing his brows, also feeling a bit of lingering fear. “I was just thinking I should confront them first to buy some time while you and your sister escape. Your mother and I are old now, but you and your sister are still young. The way those men were looking at you, I swear, I wanted to gouge their eyes out!”

In truth, Lysander had also felt that.

Although several workers remained silent, their gaze continually shifted back and forth between her chest and legs.

Though nothing was done, the look in their eyes truly made them feel uncomfortable.

Zachary reassured them, “Everything is fine now, Mr. and Mrs. Thorne. It might be too late to call the moving company today. You should start by packing your clothes and daily necessities, and I’ll take you to the new place. Don’t worry about the rest of your stuff. I’ll arrange for a moving company to come tomorrow and transport everything.”

Laura nodded repeatedly. “Okay, Zach. We’ve troubled you once again. We’ve really been a bother to you lately, I feel so apologetic.”

Zachary casually said, “What’s the big deal? My mom has already told you to feel free to treat me like your own son. Just use me as you see fit. You can be confident and bold about it. At worst, you might just have to whip up some tasty dishes, right?”

“What’s so difficult about that? Zach, once we’ve moved, you should come over for dinner daily! I know your mom can’t cook; her cooking hasn’t improved in decades. Come over for meals, and bring your mom too.”

Zachary smiled and nodded. “All right. I’ll go ahead and bring the car to the front of the building.”

Lysander helped her parents pack some toiletries and personal clothes. The items were not few, and along with her sister’s belongings, they filled up three large boxes.

Her father suffered from a bad back, while her mother had poor eyesight. They lived in an old residential complex that lacked the convenience of an elevator, only offering staircases.

Lysander called her sister over for help. Take care of our parents.”

Ever since Michelle nearly got into trouble after drinking last time, she had been incredibly well–behaved recently. Whatever her older sister suggested, she would comply without a word. She immediately went to accompany her parents.

Lysanne rolled up her sleeves, realizing that she couldn’t possibly move all three boxes in one go. She prepared herself to make two trips.

When Zachary returned, he had already removed his coat and rolled up his sleeves. As soon as he entered, he pointed to the three boxes lined up against the wall and asked, “Are these the ones?”

Michelle nodded, “Yes,

Before Lysander could even utter a word, Zachary had swiftly stacked several boxes together and lifted them

all at once.

“Michelle, the sound–activated light in the hallway is broken again. Walk your parents downstairs slowly, and be careful not to trip.”

“Okay!”

Holding her mother’s hand, Michelle led the way, with Maverick following behind them as they slowly.

stepped out the door.

Michelle used her phone as a flashlight. “Mom, Dad, slow down a bit. Hold onto me.”

Laura was still not quite at case. “But what about Zach…”

Michelle firmly squeezed her mother’s hand. “Mom, don’t worry. Lysander is still there.”

“Lysander?”

Michelle gave her a playful wink and whispered into her mother’s ear, “Mom, tell me, wouldn’t you like Zachary to be your son–in–law?”

Previously, Laura was somewhat hesitant.

However, these past few days, seeing Zachary tirelessly helping to replace a house and even assisting with the move left a very favorable impression.

In addition to his recent actions, which were like timely rain relieving a siege for them, Laura felt extremely comforted in her heart.

“Actually, Zachary is a really good guy.”

Michelle chuckled mischievously. “How about when compared to my former brother–in–law?”

Laura chuckled. “I’ve only met him less than three times. He’s a big shot, a major businessman. How could he possibly come and help us with something as trivial as moving house?”

In Laura’s words, there was a sense of melancholy.

Maverick had also heard and quietly said, “Our approval doesn’t really matter here. The most important thing is what your sister thinks. She just got divorced. I don’t think she’s particularly interested right now.”

Michelle didn’t seem bothered. “There’s no rush. Take it slow, then.”
