Chapter 502 She Turned Out To Be The Real Beneficiary

Tiffany handed over a small box to Josial.

However, Josiah made no move to take it. “No, thanks.”

“But Lyss insisted that I absolutely had to give this to you. If you don’t accept it, I won’t be able to explain things to her.”

Josiah studied Lysander’s expression carefully.

Having a wife who was a doctor had countless benefits, but there was one downside–her emotions were

far too stable.

After witnessing her fair share of bloodshed and the harsh realities of the world, she had long since mastered the art of maintaining a calm and composed facade. As far as he remembered, it seemed that only when the topic of their child was brought up would she show a hint of emotion.

At other times, she was like a bottomless ancient well. No matter how turbulent it was inside, one couldn’t discern a hint of emotion from the outside.

“Jose, you can throw it away if you like. The point is, I would’ve already handed it over to you. When Lyss asks, I’ll have something to tell her. Otherwise, she would

get upset.

Upon hearing that, Josiah couldn’t help but wear a look of disgust on his face. “She’d get upset at you?”

Tiffany shrank back a little. “Actually, Lyss is just looking out for me. She said I’m much younger than you and still quite childish. She was afraid you might replace me immature, thus taking it upon herself to help me

OUL

Josiah gave a cold laugh. “What a busybody!”

“Oh well, when all’s said and done, it’s because we’re keeping Lyss in the dark. She doesn’t know about your collaboration with my dad and thinks you’re going to marry me for real. She even took me around to meet various people previously to ensure I could assist you in the future. Lyss really means well. Just accept it.”

While saying that, Tiffany unceremoniously stuffed the small box she was holding into Josiah’s palm.

Josiah lifted his hand to toss it into the trash can at the side.

“Aren’t you going to have a look at it?”

Josiah stilled, turning to look at Lysander with a hint of confusion. “No. Even looking at it a second longer. feels bothersome.”

After half a second, he suddenly realized something, and his hand aiming for the trash can froze. He asked, “You want to have a look at it?”

Lysander merely smiled, her voice still as mild as ever. This is a sincere gift from her.”

Josiah immediately explained helplessly. “Do you think I’m still involved with her? Lysander, I don’t mind if you misunderstand me on other matters, but as I said, I detest deception above all else.”

her eye.

Tiffany still had her innocent and naive look about her. She had her hands behind her back and gently swayed her shoulders from side to side as she looked at Josiah with a smile. It was as if she hadn’t heard a word of the lengthy explanation he had just given

“Jose, since Lysa also wants to have a look, just open it.”

Josiah’s gaze never left Lysander, but he hesitated upon hearing that. “You really want to have a look?”

Lysander lifted her head and looked at him. “Go ahead and open it.”

Giving a slight nod, Josiah quickly unwrapped the packaging around the box.

In it was a small glass bottle.

The label on the bottle was of a quaint design, and a faint hint of sweetness lingered on it.

Tiffany leaned in for a closer look and read the label aloud, “Water soluble electrolyte powder? Ah, so that’s what it is. It makes sense since Apex City is quite dry, so this mixed with water is best for moisturizing the lungs. It’s just like Lyss, always so thoughtful.”

Without any further hesitation, Josiah tossed both the glass bottle and the box into the trash can before dusting off his hands. “All right, Tiffany. You’ve given it to me. I was the one who threw it away. If she asks, just tell her the truth.”

Tiffany hesitated before nodding. “Jose, since I’ve delivered it you, I’ll be leaving first.”

“Okay. Go home quickly.”

Tiffany waved her hand. “Bye! You too, Lysa.”

“Ms. Lanister!” Lysander suddenly called out to her.

Gathering her wits about her, Tiffany put on a perfect sweet smile. “What’s the matter, Lysa?

“Did you come all the way here in the middle of the night just to deliver that to Mr. Guerra?”

Tiffany blinked. “Lyss entrusted me with the task, so I had to fulfill it. You know how Lyss is… If I hadn’t delivered it, she would have accused me of being too absorbed in having fun and disregarding Jose’s health.”

“What else did she say?”

“Um, she also said…

Josiah’s distaste was almost palpable. “What else did she say to you?”

“She also said she would do her best to help me, ensuring that I become the irreplaceable lady of the Guerra family.”

Josiah’s tone noticeably cooled. “Try to limit your interactions with her in the future.”

“Okay.”

“It’s late now. Go back.”

Tiffany climbed into her family’s car and left.

Lysander stared in the direction of the car’s taillights the car, spacing out slightly.

Echoing in her mind were Amelia’s words that were seemingly in jest–the most harmless–looking banny delivers the most painful bite.

The bunny hasn’t bitten me yet, but its timing was impeccable. She purposefully chose a time when I was alone with Josiah to deliver an item on behalf of Lysanne, knowing full well that it would only heighten Josiah’s disdain for the latter. With just a few words, she managed to push his hatred for Lysanne to its peak. In the process, she also stabbed me in the heart again, further driving a wedge between me and Josiah. As for herself, she won me and Josiah over during her time in Aper City, deeply ingraining her innocent and naive image in our minds. Hence, whatever she does later can be brushed off as “naivety.” If Josiah grew tired of Lysanne and decided to deal with her, and I had a rift with him again because of this sudden bottle of water soluble electrolyte powder, she would end up being the real beneficiary in this love dodecahedron.

Josiah shifted his body slightly, shielding her from the cold mountain wind. In a couple of days, let’s go and visit Mr. and Mrs. Thorne. While at that, let’s also ask them about their stance.”

Lysander snickered. Had it not been for Amelia’s hint today, she would have never thought that a small bottle of water soluble electrolyte powder could be utilized to kill two birds with one stone.

She withdrew her gaze. “What kind of stance could they possibly have? No matter how disappointed they were, they raised her with their own hands. Reducing contact is fine, but they would never cut her off completely. Besides, Lysanne is a woman, unlike Harry. What could you possibly do to her?”

She turned around, retracing the path she had taken, leisurely making her way back.

Josiah trailed behind her. “I can replace an opportunity and get her out of the country.”

“You’ve mentioned sending her abroad previously, but she wasn’t willing to go. Could you tie her up and dump her onto the plane? Even if you manage to send her away, she can still come back on her own.”

Josiah’s gaze darkened subtly. “I’ll have her leave willingly and stay abroad forever, never to return.”

“What are you planning to do?”
