"What's wrong?" Charles looked up. "Is there something wrong?"

"It's nothing serious, just that people downstairs have been talking about it. Everyone says the company doesn't seem to care much about the year-end party this year.

"Besides Becky, Janet hasn't done much at all." Noelle didn't have any major issues with Janet, but she felt that since Janet was now an employee at Collosus Group, she should complete the tasks assigned to her.

Noelle might have overestimated Janet; she seemed too accustomed to her privileged life to handle these tasks. "It just seems like Becky's been really exhausted lately. She's doing all this heavy work by herself."

"So, what are you suggesting, Nelly?" Charles chuckled. "Becky is my secretary. I know her capabilities, so don't worry about it. As for Janet, I'll replace a time to let her go, but not just yet. It's the end of the year, after all, and we should still leave the Bakers with a bit of dignity."

"Don't misunderstand me; whether you send her away or not doesn't matter. She won't affect our relationship." Noelle did not want to pressure Charles into making any decisions. "Just do what you feel is right."

"Alright." Charles smiled. "Nelly, you're always so considerate of me."

"Of course." Noelle grinned. "I really have to go now. After work, I'll wait for you in your underground parking lot. You'll be off on time today, right? Aunt Nancy said she wants to eat chili lime fish tonight, so we'll need to buy fresh fish after work."

"Uncle Henry didn't go to buy it?" Charles raised an eyebrow. "Uncle Henry sure knows how to delegate tasks."

"Uncle Henry wants to stay with Aunt Nancy, and she's been looking quite welNately." Noelle laughed, then got up and placed her hands on Charles' shoulders, leaning in to give him a soft kiss on the lips. "I'm really leaving now!"

As Noelle opened the door and stepped out, Janet also exited the secretary's office, catching a glimpse of Noelle's back.

That silhouette was all too familiar;

Janet saw it often in the offices on the 27th floor. Janet knew that this figure belonged to Noelle, the woman frequently seen entering and exiting Charles' office.

She had heard she was Brian's most capable assistant from the project department.

Janet's eyes filled with resentment as she stared at Noelle's departing figure, even after she was out of sight. She gripped her pen so tightly that it snapped in her hand.

She had asked Becky, who assured her that Noelle posed no threat, but Janet could not shake the feeling that Noelle had ulterior motives. Why else would she keep showing up in Charles' office? "Ms. Baker?"

Becky noticed Janet standing still, staring off into space. She followed Janet's gaze but saw nothing out of the ordinary. "Ms. Baker, what are you doing standing here? We need to go downstairs. There are still

many small details we need to fix for the year-end party setup

"Becky, what do you think is really going on between that Noelle and Charles? Why does she keep coming to his office?"
