The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) -
Chapter 623
Mateo narrowed his eyes as he placed his hands on the armrest and huffed cooly. "Come on, Clarisse Baker. You're from a noble family, and should know to use your brain in deciding what to do in places like these!"
"You... You have no right to criticize me, Mateo Hoffman. A man who pulled nothing but lowly tricks from his sleeves is not even the slightest bit trustworthy to me!"
The corner of Mateo's lips curved upward. "Which one of us do you think is more lowly? I'll let what happened today slide, but some incidents have happened many years ago, and you should stop harping over what will never belong to you."
"Mr. Mateo and the others have settled in. Mr Hoffman. Also..." Ronald leaned toward Charles as he spoke, and Charles narrowed his eyes slightly before he nodded and asked, "Alright, got it. Where is Mrs. Hoffman?"
...
"Mrs. Hoffman is over there," Ronald said as he pointed at the woman in conversation with Arya and Brian. "Mrs. Hoffman has been with her department colleagues all this while!"
Charles nodded in acknowledgment as his eyes traveled across the crowd to gaze at Noelle, who seemed to realize Charles was looking at her. She turned around, and their gazes met mid-air. The corner of her lips curved upward as a smile twinkled in her eyes. Charles, too, smiled and made a gesture at Noelle.
When Noelle noticed what Charles was doing, she reached out to gesture mid-air before lowering her hand and turning around to resume her conversation with Arya and the others.
A smiling look appeared in Charles' eyes as he looked away. "When will the artists from Royal Star arrive?"
"I just spoke to Ruby on the phone. They're on the way, and will be arriving soon." As Ronald spoke, he received another call on his phone. "Mr. Hoffman, they're at the entrance now."
Soon, another commotion rang out
at the entrance. A crowd formed itself around Brielle Blake, Royal Star's it girl. Given her standing within Royal Star, she was the first to enter the venue, followed by Lara Ocean, Mona Quentin, and Winter Shaw.
All of them had their makeup done to the nines and looked extremely glamorous. Their entrance
immediately attracted everyone's attention, and they all began talking about the artists under Royal Star
between themselves.
The employees of Collosus Group were considered ordinary working-class employees and did not often get the chance to meet celebrities, let alone share such close space with them.
Royal Star was an extremely
successful entertainment company
and was considered one of the industry's pillars. Meanwhile, Collosus Group was one of the brands that belonged to the Royal Star name, hence their interesting relationship. The employees of Collosus Group got to meet the celebrities signed with Royal Star every year, and that was considered one of the perks of working there.
Winter was extremely well-dressed today. The clothes she was wearing were designs that Allen had created for last year's fashion week show, the only one of its kind in the world.
Winter confidently mentioned the last of the line. It was common for female celebrities to compete amongst themselves, and the fact that she was last in line showcased her position within Royal Star.
The corner of Winter's lips curled upward. When she noticed Charles standing nearby, a glint appeared in her eyes as she hurried over. "Long time no see, Charles!"
