Clarisse let out a cold laugh. "So, that's who you're referring to? But who told you he's related to us? Not everyone named Hoffman is part of our Hoffman family." As soon as Clarisse said this, Winter's expression became even more rigid. She froze and bit her lip, looking rather awkward.

Throughout the entire exchange, Charles did not say a word. He simply observed the scene with a detached expression, allowing everyone to talk without intervening.

Charles' demeanor made his stance clear-he was never one to be controlled by anyone. Winter's attempt to manipulate him was obviously not up to par, and Charles had no interest in engaging with someone like her. Realizing this, Winter quickly grew fearful. It turned out Charles was indeed just as the rumors described, and she realized she had made a misstep today.

Not only had she miscalculated, but she had also embarrassed herself and dragged down Joseph and Xavier with her.

Winter gritted her teeth, trying to think of a way to salvage the situation.

Seeing Winter's expression, Janet smugly said, "I told you, I grew up with Charles. How could I not recognize his relatives? So, you came here pretending to be one?"

"Un... Mr. Hoffman, please say something. I really didn't know" Winter stammered.

"Enough!" Charles cut Janet off and lifted his gaze slightly. "Ms. Shaw, it's alright if you didn't know. After all, it's the same surname. Let's not be too harsh."

He continued with a slight smile, "Ms. Shaw, you're now one of Royal Star's artists, and I expect you to work diligently and contribute to Royal Star's growth." Charles' words were vague. It seemed he neither sided with Janet nor stood up for Winter.

He raised his hand, signaling Ronald to step forward. Ronald immediately approached. "Mr. Hoffman."

"It's about time, isn't it?" Charles asked.

"Yes, the year-end event can begin now," Ronald confirmed while glancing around.

Becky quickly approached. "Mr. Hoffman, Mr. Wells, everything is ready."

"In that case, let's begin." Charles then added, "Everyone, please take your seats."

This year's event was grand. It was held on the second floor of Collosus Group, and it began with the opening remarks.

Each person had their designated

seat based on their rank and status within Collosus Group. The closer someone was seated to the front, the more valued they were.

Charles and Mateo were seated in the first row, followed by Collosus' top management, then the outstanding employees from various departments.

Noelle was seated in the third row alongside Brian and Arya, with colleagues from the finance department nearby.

The project department's

achievements throughout the year were impressive, especially the new West City project. It had already earned high praise from Charles despite being in its early stages.

Winter, Brielle, and a few others were seated at the side in a section reserved just for them.

After the earlier fiasco, Winter's anger simmered. She was quite displeased with how Charles had treated her.

She nearly stormed out, but Suzy grabbed her hand, stopping her.

Suzy even spent a good amount of

time calming her down. "You tried to set up Charles in front of everyone The fact that he didn't openly shut you down was already him saving you from humiliation. Don't forget, you're still with Royal Star."
