Janet's face lit up with a smile, and she was just about to step forward when she suddenly froze. When she registered Charles' words, her expression shifted to disbelief.

She stared intently at the number card in Charles' hand as he playfully asked, "Who's the lady with number 520?"

Everyone began to look down at their own number cards, but no one responded.

Charles glanced around. "No one?"

Winter and Brielle also checked their numbers, only to replace they did not match. Disappointment spread across their faces.

"This can't be happening! It's impossible!" Janet could no longer hold back and rushed forward, snatching the card from Charles' hand.

Upon seeing the number on it, she shouted, "This can't be real! How is this possible?"

Charles turned slightly. "Why not? What's so strange about the number I picked?" His cold voice rang out as his dark eyes fixed on Janet.

Realizing her behavior, Janet quickly clenched the card in her hand and shook her head. "No, Charles. I didn't mean it like that."

"Give it here," Charles said, frowning. He took the card from her hand. "Becky, check the list and see who has number 520."

"Oh, alright. I'll do it right away..."

"No need to check," a woman's voice called out from the crowd. She wore a white blouse with a matching knit sweater and a black coat over it, making her look sharp and capable. She stood out against the other women in evening gowns.

Holding up her number card, she said, "I'm number 520. Sorry, I was searching for it in my bag. I thought I had forgotten it."

The woman's voice was calm and ethereal, contrasting sharply with the excitement of the other women present.

Whispers filled the room. Although they all worked in the same company, Collosus Group was so large that not everyone knew each other, especially if they were from different departments.

"Oh, it's Ms. Noelle Shaw from the project department!" Becky exclaimed, looking pleased. "Mr. Hoffman, I just checked, and it's indeed Ms. Shaw from the project department!" Becky pointed at Noelle with a smile.

Charles' eyes gleamed, though his expression remained composed. He smiled slightly and asked, "Ms. Shaw, is it?"

"Yes, Mr. Hoffman," Noelle responded with a smile. "Thank you for this opportunity."

"Ms. Shaw, you just got lucky." Charles chuckled as he pulled out his own number card. "How interesting. Mine is 025, the

opposite. Seems like I have quite the

connection with you, Ms. Shaw!"

Noelle blinked in surprise, her eyes reflecting her astonishment. The crowd buzzed with excitement, taken aback by Charles's playful banter with Noelle in front of everyone.

Noelle paused for a brief moment

but quickly regained her composure. "Mr. Hoffman, you sure love to joke. It seems I just got lucky, but I still have to thank your golden touch for choosing me."

Charles smirked. "Brian, your assistant sure knows how to speak well."

Brian, caught off guard at being mentioned, hesitated for a moment before standing up with a smile. "You flatter her, Mr. Hoffman. Noelle... is quite capable."

As the conversation flowed, Janet, who was standing not far from Charles, looked as if she had been struck by lightning. She stared at Noelle's face in disbelief. "You... You're..."
