Janet's obsession with him could be understood as a problem in her head. What she could not have was what she desired the most.

It was because she could not attain him that she desperately tried to. However, what about the Bakers? Janet was fixated, but in such a large family, it was impossible for every member to share her obsession. The only explanation was that they were also trying to achieve a certain goal through Janet. The fact that Janet had the support of the Bakers suggested that they, too, wanted something from him.

"You probably won't be able to return to Phoenix Tree Residence for a while," Charles informed her.

"Yeah, I know," Noelle responded. Although her tone did not reveal any particular emotion, Charles sensed her mood had taken a dip.

Indeed, Noelle felt a bit down. While she understood the reasoning behind all of this-it was meant to prevent unnecessary trouble-she had trouble coming to terms with it.

Noelle forced a small smile and could not help but think about how she had become so sentimental. She had always been somewhat sentimental but never to this extent.

"Are you upset?" Charles asked.

She shook her head. "I'm not upset. Well, I guess I won't be going back to Phoenix Tree Residence after work today. Fortunately, I still have the apartment I rented before, so I'll go back there later and settle in. Also, Charlie?" "Yes?" Charles, though not comfortable with the situation himself, asked gently. "What is it?"

"Nothing." Noelle shook her head but then realized he could not see her and added, "I'll miss you."

"Mhm, be patient. Once this period passes, you can come back," he reassured her.

"Okay."

After ending the call, Noelle let out a heavy sigh. "Come on, Noelle Shaw. Pull yourself together. There's nothing you can't get through."

Once they dealt with this situation, things would go smoothly between her and Charles. Otherwise, Janet would be a nuisance, constantly hovering around them.

After hanging up, Charles shook his

head with a trace of helplessness. Soon, his expression turned cold, and he immediately called Ronald "From now on, have Andrew watch over my wife around the clock."

"Mr. Hoffman, is there..." Ronald asked, surprised. He had just arrived at the office and had not expected such a serious order from Charles "Understood, I'll inform Andrew right away and have him select a few sharp guys. But Mr. Hoffman, is

someone targeting Mrs. Hoffman?"

"The Bakers," Charles replied with a chilling tone. "It looks like they've set their sights on Nelly. Have Andrew personally keep an eye on her." "Yes, sir!"

Realizing the gravity of the situation,

Ronald straightened up. It was becoming clear that the Bakers were not just aiming for Janet to marry Charles-they had a bigger plan in mind.

When Noelle entered the office, she felt everyone's eyes on her. Some even pointed in her direction.

Given the large number of people at the year-end party, although they knew a woman named Noelle had danced with Charles, not everyone had seen her face clearly.

As Noelle walked through the doors of Collosus Group, she could hear several people whispering behind her.

"So, she's the one who danced with Mr. Hoffman the last time? She doesn't look like much."

"Yeah, she's not even as pretty as the receptionist!"

"I heard she's got some kind of powerful background. Apparently, she was brought in out of the blue and knows Mr. Wells."

"Tsk, maybe she's just a pretty face or Mr. Wells' mistress."

"Shh, are you crazy? How could you say that? Mr. Wells is Mr. Hoffman's right-hand man. If he hears you, you're done for."
