The Cherished Wife (Noelle and Charles) -
Chapter 690
Seeing the people around gradually disperse, Noelle finally turned to Brian. "Thank you for that, Mr. Parker."
"No need to thank me. Remember, I'm involved in this too," Brian replied, raising an eyebrow with a smile. "So, hearing them say those things about you-did it upset you?"
Noelle shook her head. "Not really. It's just that discussing such matters during work hours isn't ideal."
Besides, she was currently the subject of much attention and could not afford to give anyone, especially Janet, any more ammunition against her.
Although Charles had said he would handle the situation, Noelle felt it was always wise to be cautious. Given her recent interactions with Janet, Noelle knew she was the type who would not rest until she achieved her goals. Not to mention, Noelle could not stand dealing with people like that.
Seeing the troubled look on Noelle's face, Brian smirked. "Come on, let's head up. Don't forget, there's still work waiting for us. You had two days off. Hopefully, you didn't forget everything."
"Of course not! I wasn't just lazing around at home. I've come up with some plans, and I'll show them to you once we get to the office."
As they walked, the two continued chatting about work, completely unaware that someone was secretly taking photos of them.
These photos quickly ended up on Janet's phone.
Janet sat in her office, surrounded by several secretaries who were busy with their tasks. Becky was occupied with organizing her work assignments. Janet, however, found herself with nothing to do.
She stared at the photos of the man and woman for a long while before finally putting her phone away. Glancing over at Becky, who was still focused on her work, Janet felt a surge of impatience but quickly suppressed it.
She recalled the words Clarisse had said to her that morning. After struggling internally, she made her way over.
A shadow fell over Becky's
workspace, and although she
noticed it, she did not bother looking up. Janet grew more annoyed at Becky's unbothered attitude but managed to restrain herself, а

Becky looked up, already guessing what Janet had in mind. She scoffed internally, but her face remained

Janet.
"Ms. Baker, can't you tell?" she replied, gesturing to the pile of paperwork in front of her.
Janet's expression faltered, but she remembered Clarisse's instructions from earlier and took a deep breath.
She forced a smile. "Could I have a quick word with you? It'll only take a minute. It won't interfere with your work."
Becky paused and raised an eyebrow. "Fine, go ahead."
Janet glanced around. "Let's talk somewhere else. This isn't the best place."
Becky surveyed the room and nodded reluctantly. "Alright, but I can only give you five minutes. My schedule is packed this morning." "Okay, let's go to the break room."
Becky followed Janet to the break room. Although Janet did not like or respect Becky, she was forced to put on an act.
