Chapter 48
“Hahaa! I can’t believe this! Hahaha!” Rihito laughed when he heard the condition Teresa kept in front of Ryouma to forgive him.
“Shut up, will you?” Ryouma glared at his best friend.
Two girl approached them.
“Hey, beautiful.” Rihito kissed the back of their hands. One of the girls smiled at Ryouma and went to him but Ryouma glared at her and both the girls ran away.
“Come on, Ryouma that’s unfair you chased away my date too.” Rihito pouted. “Ryouma, right now you’re emitting a deadly aura, at this rate not even flies will come near you, good going but stop glaring at me, or did Teresa warned you to stay away from me too, huh?” Rihito winked.
“You have a death wish?” Ryouma growled.
“Come on Ryouma Teresa told you to stay away from girls but why’re you doing this to me? It’ valentine’s day and I’ve got no date because of you.” Rihito complained.
“Hey guys, What’s going on?” Teresa came waving to them.
“Hey, kindly tell your husband not to drive away my date too, please.” Rihito begged.
“Ryouma you’re not doing your task properly.” She scolded her husband.
“Now what?” He rolled his eyes.
“You had to say ‘I have a beautiful and lovely wife’ too. You didn’t do that.” She complained.
“Is it already not enough?” He scowled.
“Nope! Complete your task properly, remember my eyes are on you!” She gestured with her hands and disappeared into the crowd.
After a while,
“Hey Rihito, Long time no see.” A girl came smiling to Rihito.
“Hey....umm Cristie?” Rihito tried to recall her name.
“It’s Colie, dear. You haven’t changed at all.” She rolled her eyes. “and yeah meet my friend Tina.” She introduced.
“Hey Tina! You guys are looking lovely.” He hugged them.
“Wow, here’s another handsome hunk huh? Won’t you introduce us?” The girl noticed Ryouma and smiled.
“Why not introduce yourselves?” Rihito tried his best not to laugh.
“Hey!” She kept her hands on Ryouma’s shoulder seductively, he shrugged her hands off.
“Oh! shy huh?” The girl said pouting her glossy lips and Ryouma was creeped out.
“Colie.” She extended her hand.
Ryouma looked at her extended hand and rolled his eyes just then his eyes met Teresa’s who was looking at him from a floor above and she gestured with her hands, ‘I’m watching you’
Ryouma then smiled at the girls. “I have a beautiful and lovely wife.” He replied. His smile was rather creepy/scary.
“Sorry to bother.” They ran away.
“Actually Ryouma, I take it back, who needs a date when you have such an entertainment right in front of you? Haha! I never imagined you’d actually say that. You surprised me.” Rihito laughed.
“From the day I married her, I’ve done lots of things I could’ve never imagined. Today I even surprised myself. ” Ryouma gritted his teeth.
“And the fun just started.” Rihito grinned.
“Actually I think you should go replace a date for yourself because I’ve had enough.” Ryouma walked away.
Teresa who looked away jut for a minute looked around for her husband but couldn’t replace him. “Where did he go?”
Someone suddenly whispered in her ears, “looking for someone?”
“Oh no!” She shouted as she almost fell but she was caught by a muscular hand.
“What the hell?” She turned around and saw her husband. “Ah! You scared me, I almost fell.” She yelled.
“But you didn’t.” He smiled at her.
“What are you doing here?” She questioned him.
“Helping my wife keep an eye on me.” He smiled.
“Huh?”
“If I remember I’m allowed to be with you and the way you had to keep an eye on me from here I was worried that you’ll fall down, so here now that I’m with you it’s easier to keep an eye on me, isn’t it?” He winked smiling at her.
“Smart but I don’t want to be with you.” She tried to go but he pulled her back.
“But I want to be with you, only you.” He whispered in her ear.
“Wh....what’s wr..ong with you... all of a sudden?” She stammered looking away from him.
“Why, is it wrong that I don’t want to be apart from my wife?” He made a puppy dog’s eyes.
“Umm.... I.... um..” She was at loss for words.
“You were the one on the first pace who wanted me to only look at you and no one else, right?” He whispered again.
“I..” She blushed and Ryouma smiled victoriously seeing the effect he had on her.
“Is he bothering you?” came a guy and pulled Teresa away from Ryouma as he thought Ryouma was bothering her.
Ryouma glared at the guy.
“She’s my wife.” He held her possessively.
“Oh boss? Sorry I didn’t recognize you because of the mask.. I thought...” He apologized.
“Just mind your own business would you?” Ryouma glared at him. The poor guy ran away scared the hell out of him.
Ryouma turned his attention back to his wife. “Why are you giving me that look?”
“Today you’re acting a little weird.” She replied.
“Because you’re trying to mess with me. You told me that I can’t even look at other girls but you get to go around flirting with other guys? Trying to get me jealous? You’re checking my patience is it?” He gave her a threatening look.
“You just agreed you’re jealous.” She looked at him astonished.
“Poor me, what can I do in front of my almighty wife? Looking like this you’re roaming around the party, anyone’s bound to be jealous of the eyes that stops at you.” He sighed. Slow music began to play to which Ryouma had a thought and smiled. “May I have a dance?” He extend his hand to her.
“Ryouma, Was it just me or did you actually compliment me?” She smiled holding his hand.
“Sorry, I’m really not good at it but I’ll do it better the next time.” He smiled back at her and pulled her along to the dance floor.
“You are acting weird. Did you eat something wrong?” She asked with concern.
“No but maybe the party’s atmosphere got me.” He winked and pulled her close.
“You’re different today.” She smiled.
"You don't like it?" He asked.
"It's not that I don't like it. It's just that you're..." She difted off looking into his eyes.
"What about me?" He looked back into hers.
She shaked her head. "It's good, I like it." She smiled at him.
"By the way, thank you for the birthday gift." He smiled back.
"You liked it?"
"I loved it! But do I have fangs and horns too?" He frowned.
"Yeah, it appears when you're mad." She laughed.
"What about the crown then?"
"Cause at times, you act like a prince charming...hmm...like today?" Her brows arches up.
“I have something important to talk to you.” He leans in and whispers in her ear.
“Yeah?” She looked at him with a puzzled expression.
“Come with me.” He takes her outside. “Damn, my car keys are with Rihito, wait here, I’ll come in a minute.” He excused himself and went back into the party.
“Now where did this Rihito run off to?” Ryouma went around to search for his best friend.
“Stop it! I’ve had enough!” Ryouma heard someone shout. He went towards the direction of the sound and knocked with someone. “Sam?”
“Sorry, Ryouma.” Sam walked out.
“What the hell was that?” Ryouma thought. He was about to leave but spotted Sara so he went to her.
“Sara? Is everything okay? Why happened to him?” Ryouma questioned. Sara didn’t reply but she was crying.
“Hey, what’s wrong? You two had a fight or something?”
“It’s my fault..” She said in between her cry.
Few minutes later
“Where is he? Idiot, leaving me in this cold.” Teresa shivered wrapping her arms around herself.
Teresa spotted Rihito coming out with a girl. “Oii, Rihito!” She called out to him.
“What are you doing here? Alone in this cold?” Rihito asked.
“Ryouma went to get his keys from you, you didn’t meet him?”
“Oh yeah, I had his keys. Here.” He gave her the keys. ” But where is your husband? I didn’t see him inside.”
“But it’s already been 15 minutes he went inside and I even forgot my phone at home.” Teresa replied.
“Wait I’ll call him.” Rihito called Ryouma.
“Hey man, where the hell are you? leaving your wife alone out here?”
“Yeah I can drop her.” Rihito looked at her. “but where are you? Is everything okay?”
“Yeah she’s here, wait.” Rihito handed the call to Teresa.
“Yup?” She answered.
“I am really sorry but can you go home with Rihito? Something came up.” Ryouma clicked his tongue.
“Sure, fine by me.” Teresa replied.
“I really didn't plan it to turn out like this, today was supposed to be special, I am really sorry and thank you, I’ll see you at home, okay?” She could hear the regret in his voice.
“Okay, bye.” She replied.
