The Crimson Fang
Epilogue

“Am I destined to fail?” Ami approached the Grandmaster. “In every single scenario, every time I have reset the world, I have been defeated. By this boy!” “You will never win, Sephithos. Joseph will always defeat you.” “But, why can I not win?” “He possesses a power that you never will.” Draken rose from the ground, where Alphenthos had left him, thinking he had been slain. “I believe I understand. Dragon,” he knelt, “finish me off. This will be the last time, I swear it.” Joseph’s blades came down, beheading him.

“What power is it that I possess?” “Don’t you see? The power you possess is the greatest there is. It is the reason that it is, and will always be you. That power is love. Sephithos will never know it. He was always too consumed with himself, to ever be able to experience it. It is what gave you your strength, as you watched those you love fall around you. It is what drew me, and everybody else, to you. I…” “Shh. I love you too.”

The three remaining Fangs walked toward the setting sun, to their king’s side, ready to begin rebuilding their lives. They were ready to begin their new life of peace, a peace that none of them had known for as long as they could remember. This time, however, the peace would last. “What will we do, my king?” “The same that we have always done, old friend. We will survive.” The peace that they had won that day, alongside the remaining races that offered resistance to the Altros, lived on through the ages.
