The Curse Of Rejection -
My Annoying Mate
AYSU
Alpha Ximun got to his feet, his lips pressed into a firm line.
And Aysu walked closer when she noted that he wasn’t willing to approach her. When her feet were barely inches away from his, she stopped and his coconut scent reached her nostrils. Unfortunately, her wolf was a fan of that scent, so Aysu had to stay silent for a few seconds while her weak wolf went ballistic.
“What do you want?” Alpha Ximun demanded, the tone of his voice displaying his impatience.
“What are you doing right now?”
The man glanced at the flushed woman he was just eating out. “What does it look like to you?”
Aysu scoffed. “Mister Alpha, do you think I’m here to play twenty questions with you?”
“What do you want? Huh? You already got me to get married to you, so what else?”
The man sounded very nonchalant, he caused Aysu’s anger to grow. “What is your problem? Do you think I like the fact that you of all people is now my mate? If I had any other choice, I would have-”
“I believe I gave you a lovely choice the last time we met.” Aysu narrowed her eyes and Alpha Ximun assumed a more threatening pose. With his shoulders looking more puffy, he moved his lips to her ears and whispered, “I am sure I told you to die. I am going to do the same, so end your stupidity and join me.”
“Join you?”Aysu managed to push him away. The man staggered a few steps but he didn’t seem bothered by what she did. All he did was laugh, as though she was someone to be jested about. “If I knew who I was getting married to, I wouldn’t be here. I’ll be at the market, sizing my coffin. But,” her brows lifted, “what do you know? You and I are now together, we are expected to mate to break the curse that has held us captive for many years.”
“Mate?” His laughter increased in volume. “Why would I want to mate with a pathetic wolf from that weakling pack called Tarmish Pack?”
“Are you going to mate with me or not?”
His mini-fun ended and he gave a sharp answer. “No.”
Aysu clutched her hands into fists and urged her wolf not to give in to the anger brewing in their soul. After she closed her eyes and achieved a state of peace, Aysu asked, “Ever since your last mate rejected you, have you ever felt at peace?”
“How is that your business?”
“For the past few days, all I have known is misery. Each time I wake up, I dread the feeling of being torn away from my wolf and when that feeling arrives, all I wish for is for it to end in whatever way it can. I pray for death as much as I pray for salvation from my pain.”
Alpha Ximun was calmer now. The unfitting bratty side he was trying to display disappeared and the real him that she met in the forest appeared. He relaxed his shoulders and leaned back, his eyes scanning her in a way that she would term sexy.
“Where are you going with this?” he asked, his voice booming in her ears.
“Right now,” her hands clasped in front of her, “you and I are each other’s salvation. I am a hundred percent certain that you have been experiencing the pain I have been trying to survive for days. And despite your desire to die, you want to survive, I know that much.”
“Stop talking as though you know everything about me.”
Aysu sighed. “Of course, I don’t.”
“Then, what do you want from me?”
“Mate with me,” Aysu went straight to her point. “I can tell you hate me. But just for once, mate with me, and let’s both be free from the shackles of the curse. Once it’s over, I’ll never bother you. I’ll leave your palace and wander the streets if I have to. But just…” A shuddering breath escaped her, that was a great means to take a break from the rushing words she was uttering. “... just, please, mate with me.”
Alpha Ximun ducked his head, that action displaying more of his lengthy, beautiful hair. If he was someone she truly loved, Aysu knew that she would be totally insane about his hair and his eyes, and his body too. But his personality, not so much. His brattiness, grimness, and stoicness were just something she was not willing to deal with.
Aysu took her eyes off the tall man before he could tell that she was studying him. She trained her eyes on the woman he was with and she glared at the curly-haired woman till that one was forced to walk away.
Then, Alpha Ximun spoke, “Listen,” their eyes met, “your speech is really nice. But you are nobody to me.”
“You stripped me of the chance to properly gain a normal life,” she retorted.
One of his brows lifted. “And that is my fault, how?”
“Because of you, I am married to a man who eats a random woman out barely seconds after his wedding ceremony.”
He squinted his eyes. “Am I supposed to feel guilty about that?”
“You are meant to be sensible.”
“Are you calling me stupid?”
“I might as well call you that.” Alpha Ximun visibly gritted his teeth and Aysu grabbed her cloth to control her growing fury. When she spoke again seconds later, she asked, “Can you just say yes to mating with me?”
He began to inspect his fingers, which by the way, were also good to look at. It was no wonder most women wanted him. Coupled with his rumoured huge dick, he seemed to be a complete man-snack package.
“I will see what I can do about that,” he replied, the nonchalance from earlier back in his voice.
“Don’t just see what you can do. Do it. I will be expecting you later this night. Our honeymoon supposedly begins once the moon is in its full shape. And that’s about three hours from now.”
“Will you truly let me be once I give you what you want?”
Her head danced. “Yes.”
“You had better do that,” he warned. “You are not exactly someone I want to see each day I wake up.”
Aysu sighed again. And she wondered why he hated her so much. But she didn’t voice that question. Instead, she said, “Your face is not so likeable either. If I get to wake up by your side every day, I would ask the goddess to strike me to death.”
Alpha Ximun scoffed, his shoulders shrugging as he did that. “My face is very likeable.” He increased the sneer on his face. “People say I look very cute and handsome especially when I have bangs.”
“Oh. Wow. Good for you.” Aysu mocked him. “Just make sure you show up later this night. Let’s get this over with.”
“I can’t wait.”
Aysu spared him one last glance and after, she retreated her steps and walked away even though she wasn’t sure where she was headed.
He did not show up that night neither did he three nights after. And on each day, after the disappointment of his no-show crushed her, the curse added its own burden and worsened the pain in her heart. And to make
things way worse, Alora was in her heat period which was surprising to Aysu.
She thought the ache of the curse would dampen the urge of her wolf to have someone to lewdly roll in the grass with, but no. Her wolf was more concerned about the pulsing need in her core than the feeling of being torn away from her human.
So, when Aysu got up from the comfortable chair that was one of the pieces of furniture in her new room, pure anger washed over her and she decided that she wouldn’t be sitting back anymore. She had waited for long enough and it was time to get Alpha Ximun to honour the discussion they had.
Aysu, without any intent to stop to reason what she was about to do, stormed out of her room and walked straight till she reached the north wing of the palace where Alpha Ximun’s huge abode was located.
The layout of that wing was quite confusing since there were no indications of what each room was for. So, Aysu could only walk helplessly for minutes. Well, that was until she noticed an unusual lineup of armoured men in front of a huge brass door.
With a surge of courage in her veins, Aysu exhaled hard and approached that particular door. When the men demanded who she was, she gave no attention to them and flicked the eye of whoever dared to stand in front of her. Perhaps it was her wolf’s horniness or maybe her desire to stop suffering, something in her was responsible for that gusto she was displaying and thankfully, that gusto was enough to get her past the guards.
She pushed the doors open and the first thing her eyes met was Alpha Ximun’s startled expression. Aysu smirked when she saw his face form a frown and she strutted into the room full of men and women who seemed to have been discussing important matters before she barged into the room.
“What are you doing here?” Alpha Ximun demanded, his voice very stern, his eyes hardened with anger.
“I have been waiting for you, Alpha Ximun,” Aysu replied as she walked closer.
“Why have you barged into our meeting, Miss Aysu?”
Her eyes bulged and her lips smirked. “What do you think?”
As though they were about to do a face-off, Alpha Ximun got to his feet and glared at her from his end. “Miss Aysu. Leave. Right now.”
“No.” Murmurs from others in the room accompanied Aysu’s daring response. So, she faced them and said, “Would you love to know what my dear husband has been up to?”
“Aysu,” he warned. “Do not dare say a word.”
Her gaze returned to him. “Then, will you do as I say? Will you do what I want?”
His lips probed the insides of his mouth. “What do you want?”
Aysu’s smile increased and she leaned her hands against the edge of the large table in the room. “Mate with me.” Gasps filled the room. “I want you to mate with me. Right now.”
