The Day I Kissed An Older Man -
Chapter 2355
"Here, have a seat. It's been a while. How have you been?" asked Melody.
After Sherman greeted Lucas, he answered Melody with a smile, "Things are going well. Remember the deal I told you about last time that was a little hard to get? Well, we managed to secure it."
Melody was genuinely happy to hear Sherman's good news. "That's fantastic! That deal was really tough. I always say you have a strong team with you, and with you involved, how could the client not hire your company!"
Sherman's eyes crinkled with his smile as he reached out to ruffle Melody's hair, leaving both Melody and Lucas momentarily stunned. Melody immediately recoiled, feeling uncomfortable with the sudden, intimate gesture. Adding Lucas's presence to the scene made it even more peculiar.
"Um, thanks, Sherman. I just finished filming, and I completely forgot my hair was a mess..." Melody said, trying to diffuse the situation.
Sherman remained smiling, offering no explanation for his actions. Meanwhile, Lucas stood up. Being an inch taller than Sherman, he appeared imposing as he looked down at him.
Melody tugged at Lucas' sleeve, signaling him to calm down. Sherman had come to visit her, and she did not want any trouble.
Meeting Melody's gaze, Lucas conceded defeat. After all, he had just made her upset a moment ago.
Lucas sat down on the sofa by himself, allowing the two others to continue their conversation. Despite the awkwardness of the situation, he remained in the room, refusing to leave.
Sherman asked Melody, "You asked me how I've been, but what about you? Has filming been smooth since you returned? I heard your crew has cleared their name. I bet no one would dare to mess with them anymore!"
Bringing up this topic made Melody happy. Ever since they had exposed all the evidence online, everyone realized Tracy had misled them. Since then, their crew were no longer called a bully.
"It's going much better than before. Previously, everyone was hesitant to speak up about anything, but after the clarification, there's no need to hide anymore. And filming used to be quite difficult. We even faced criticism when we started shooting. Although I wouldn't say everyone loves us now, there's definitely some audience looking forward to watching this movie."
As Melody mentioned, a portion of the audience believed it was just a publicity stunt by the film company. How else could they explain such an incompetent crew? However, the majority were genuinely looking forward to the movie coming out, partly because of Shaun and partly because of Melody.
Many critics, who had been harsh in the past, had also praised Melody's acting skills, which she had read and promptly forgotten about. After all, the same people could praise her one moment and then criticize her harshly the next. The audience always knew best when it came to it. Regardless, all their efforts would not be in vain as long as the movie had audiences willing to pay to watch it.
Melody did not dare to fight back even though some mocked the crew for being foolish because, from the looks of it, it did seem like the intelligence of everyone in the crew was lacking.
"That's really great to hear. You have no idea how jealous initially other people were of me when they found out I know you. But after the bullying incident, they started behaving sarcastically toward me. I didn't dare to say much, but I definitely trust you. After this clarification, no one will dare to mock me again. So I'm really happy for us!" said Sherman.
It was a relief for Melody as well. After all, her fans would be able to hold their heads up high too after the clarification.
