Beatrice got up relatively early that morning. She felt a bit weak, so she asked everyone to leave her alone and not hover around her. She then laid down on Lucas' sofa for a while.

When Lucas returned, this was the scene he saw, and his brows immediately furrowed as he walked to his grandmother's side.

"Grandma, why don't you go to my lounge to rest if you're tired? How old are you? How can you sleep on the sofa? Your body can't handle it! Edmund—"

Edmund pushed the door open and entered, "Yes, Mister Lucas?"

"Why didn't you ask my grandmother to rest in the lounge?"

Beatrice woke up and immediately intercepted Lucas' reprimand. "Don't scold Edmund like that. I wanted to sleep here! He told me that I could go to your lounge, but I don't want to. I just wanted to sleep on your sofa today."

Lucas fell silent.

"Alright, Edmund, carry on what you were doing just now. I need to talk to my grandson for a moment."

After Edmund nodded and left, Beatrice no longer concealed her concern.

"Did you just come back from the hospital Miss Thalia is staying in? There's a strong smell of disinfectant coming from you. How's she recovering now?"

"She woke up briefly while I was there. I asked about the milk, and she got worked up and then passed out again."

Beatrice snorted. "She faints easily! So, did she get worked up because she doesn't want to admit to tampering with the milk?"

Lucas lowered his gaze, his emotions unreadable. "She indeed hasn't admitted."

Beatrice scoffed inwardly. "Of course she won't admit it. Admitting it would shatter the innocent image you have of her!"

Lucas fell silent again.

"Lucas, I've reminded not only you but also Melody that Miss Thalia's intentions run deeper than both of yours combined. What do you expect to uncover by questioning her like this? It's clear that Miss Thalia has no intention of being your friend; she's scheming."

Beatrice saw through people far more clearly than Lucas did.

"You know what, let's not talk about this anymore Once she's better, you need to send her back to Molomia as soon as possible, understood? We can't afford to have that woman lingering here any longer. Who knows what trouble she'll cause

again in the future."

Beatrice had a vague sense that if Thalia did not leave soon, it could lead to irreversible consequences. She had a strong sense of foreboding. "Grandma, let's wait until she's fully recovered before discussing sending her back to Molomia. If I neglect her now, I'll be failing her late sister."

Beatrice looked at her grandson; she could not help but get a headache at how he was frowning.

"Doesn't Miss Thalia have any other friends? After spending so many years in Molomia, is she really all alone?"

Beatrice's implication was that

Lucas was not her only connection

to the world and its troubles. It 1.9

seemed she was saying this to remind Lucas of his responsibilities.

"She does have friends, but..."
