"Anyway, you can't stay there anymore after offending a mob boss! Why don't you also take a semester off from school and come back to lay low? You can also help me out while you're here," Thalia suggested.

Quinn was surprised. "Really? But where would I stay then? Unlike you, I don't have a man to support me. I'm all alone. I don't know who else I can turn to besides you."

Thalia understood what Quinn was getting at very well.

"You can stay with me, of course. Do you really think I'd let you stay in a hotel? But let me make it clear in advance, when you're here, you'll have to listen to me. You can't behave as recklessly as you do in Molomia while you're here."

Once Quinn returned, she would inevitably have to deal with the elders of the Rivera family. They already had a poor impression of her, so it would only worsen Thalia's situation if Quinn continued her reckless behavior.

Quinn was already thinking about replaceing a good place to hide for a while. Thalia's suggestion hit the spot for Quinn. Thus, she immediately agreed even if Thalia had many demands.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't worry. I promise I'll behave myself when I get there. As long as you don't kick me out, I'll do whatever you need," Quinn replied eagerly.

Thalia did not want to waste any more time listening to her chatter. Lucas was still waiting to talk to her, after all.

"Okay, it's settled, then. Behave yourself for the next few days, and don't stir up trouble anymore. I'll buy you a plane ticket back as soon as possible."

Thalia hung up without waiting for Quinn to respond.

Despite being unhappy with Thalia's attitude, Quinn still felt relieved after the call. At least she had a place to go where she did not have to live in fear anymore. After all, she would leave this place sooner or later.

Thalia softly called out a few times before Lucas pushed open the door to the hospital ward and entered. Seeing that Thalia's condition had improved significantly compared to before, he seemed to have some concerns in his mind.

"Is she your friend from abroad?" Lucas asked, surprising Thalia.

'When had he ever cared about who my friends were? Could it be that the previous events had made him suspicious?' she wondered.

"Oh, yes. I don't have many friends abroad, but Quinn is one of them. She's experiencing some issues right now, so she'll be taking some time off school to join me here. I told her she can stay with me. Is that okay?"

Lucas just raised his head and gave her a faint glance.

Thalia realized she was getting worse and worse at reading him.

"Yeah. I mean, what does it have to do with me whether your friend stays with you," Lucas replied indifferently.

"Lucas, what's wrong? Did something happen at work?" Thalia cautiously probed, but Lucas just looked at her with a puzzled expression.

"You seem like you're quite down. You can talk to me if anything is bothering you. When I was abroad you used to call and discuss these things with me. Why is it that now that I'm back, we've had less communication?" Thalia asked.

Lucas was clear about one thing in his mind-he never called Thalia first. In fact, it was she who found various excuses to call him. Remembering his promise to her father to take care of her, he placed himself in the position of an elder brother next door, caring for Thalia.

Thalia laid on the hospital bed, and although she seemed to be in better spirits than before, her overall complexion was still somewhat pale. Her weak smile made her appear even more fragile.
