The Day I Kissed An Older Man -
Chapter 2427
During the time it took Lucas to walk up the two floors to her unit, Melody could not shake off her unease. Every time she sat down or stood up, she felt restless, until she heard Lucas knocking on the door. Melody abruptly looked up at the door. She knew who was outside. It was the man who said he wanted to see her, the man she had been longing for.
"Melody, open the door," Lucas' voice seemed to have a magical pull.
Step by step, Melody approached the door.
As the door swung open, the man Melody had been yearning for appeared before her eyes. They locked gazes, neither moving.
"Melody." Her name rolled off Lucas' lips once more.
"Yeah... I heard you. You don't have to keep calling my name," Melody replied.
The next moment, Lucas stepped forward and gently cupped her face in his hands. He felt as though his palms were being warmed by a ball of fire.
Without pausing to think, Lucas followed his instincts and did what he wanted most-he kissed Melody's lips.
Melody's eyes widened in surprise. 'What's he doing?!'
Melody was too starstruck. The longing they both felt for each other manifested into reality at that moment.
Neither of them noticed the flash of light to their left.
The next moment, the door closed gently.
Lucas rested his forehead against hers. Having done what he wanted, he was clearly in good spirits.
He smiled at her; his laughter finally leaving the confines of the phone and reaching her ears directly.
"Do you like it when I kiss you?" he asked.
Melody's face burned even hotter, and with Lucas still holding her face, the heat drew their attention.
The more embarrassed she felt and
tried to break free, the tighter Lucas
held on. At that moment, he seemed oblivious to her protests, refusing to let her go.
"As if," Melody muttered. She lowered her gaze shyly, but she did not sound unhappy.
Lucas felt relieved at knowing she
was just as happy as he was. Het
pulled Melody into his arms, resting his head against hers and sighed contentedly.
"I'm sorry I didn't come to replace you earlier. I was careless and didn't consider your feelings."
Melody nestled against his chest
the jackpot. She had finally gotten Lucas' genuine affection. It all felt like a dream.
Evely, feeling like she had hit
Melody cautiously reached out and grabbed the fabric at his waist.
"Are you really Lucas? Or some kind of demon in disguise?" Melody's childish words conveyed her anxiety and bitterness, which Lucas keenly felt.
'She wouldn't feel so uneasy now if I had expressed my feelings to her earlier,' thought Lucas.
"You're the little demon here, having bewitched me. You make me think of you all the time, so much so that I can't focus on my work."
Melody's heart pounded like a drum as she leaned against his chest, nuzzling it gently.
"Meh. Fine, I forgive you. If I really blamed you, I wouldn't let you into my room right now," said Melody hoarsely.
Lucas noticed her raspy voice. He loosened his grip and cupped her face gently.
"I'm the one who made you upset, didn't I? I'm sorry."
Melody shook her head, still unable to believe she had all this. She feared waking up and replaceing it was all just a dream.
