It was the first time Wendy had spoken to Melody in such a humble tone, even lowering her head that had always been held high.

"My dear sister, let's just consider this time that I made a mistake. Can you please not hold it against me? You should understand, these job opportunities are extremely precious to me. We're different. You have a backer supporting you, but I am all alone, trying to make it in the entertainment industry! Do you want to see me drowned in everyone's spit?"

Melody found Wendy's words incredibly amusing. "What do you mean I have a backer? Who told you that?"

Wendy impatiently interjected, "That's not the main point. Everyone in the industry knows that you have a wealthy man backing you. Otherwise, how could you have quickly established a studio? No company would be willing to sign you when you have so many scandals."

Although Wendy's words were somewhat harsh, they held some truth. Melody, being a newcomer in the industry, was unlikely to have her own personal studio. Especially with her numerous scandals, despite having strong evidence to refute them, most companies would be hesitant to sign an actress who could easily stir up controversy online.

"Well, what you said isn't entirely wrong," Melody admitted. "But how does all of this relate to whether or not I forgive you?"

Melody's smile widened, while Wendy seemed puzzled by her response.

"What do you mean by that?" Wendy asked.

Melody feigned surprise. "Oh my! So you didn't understand what I said? I meant all those things you said earlier, they have nothing to do with me, right? Whether you get those jobs, whether advertisers continue to cooperate with you, what does it have to do with me? Besides, I've cut ties with the family, meaning to say I'm not your sister anymore. You're on your own, Wendy."

Melody smiled smugly. After all this time, she finally was able to take revenge for her past self. Although it was just a momentary triumph of words, seeing Wendy being put in her place, even wanting to rush up and beat her, still felt very satisfying.

"You b*tch, what did you say?! I apologized to you, yet you pretend not to hear? And now you want to brush me off? Don't even think about leaving. Nobody is allowed to leave this room until we clarify things!" Wendy's anger surged, her face flushed red. She reached out, trying to grab Melody's arm, but Melody was prepared and pulled her wrist back, leaving her grasping at thin air. Wendy felt even more embarrassed, but she refused to let Melody off the hook.

"I warn you, you better not do anything to me. There are many staff members around watching you. If you don't want to trend online for all the wrong reasons, you better behave yourself."

Melody stopped smiling. When it came to the Sander family, she never had any pleasant expressions. Since she had already achieved what she wanted, she saw no reason to linger any longer. Instead of wasting her time there, she could spend it reviewing the script or watching Monica and the others perform on set.

'She can only be this cocky because she has a wealthy man backing her!' Wendy was seething with hatred. 'I would've been starring in Shaun's movie if Melody hadn't stolen my opportunity for an audition!' "I hate you, Melody! You took everything from me, yet you dare to flaunt it in front of me? You're so pleased with yourself, but mark my words, you'll get what's coming to you!"
