Melody no longer sought fairness from the Sanders, but she still harbored some resentment for the past. Wendy was so good at pretending to be innocent and pitiful in front of her parents, even though she was the bully.

In the meeting room, Melody managed to expose her facade of innocence, reclaiming a bit of justice for her past self, even though it was already too late.

"Silly girl. Why would I ever think of you like that?" Lucas rested his chin on top of Melody's head, and he sighed with compassion. "I just hope you won't keep these things from me. Tell me if there's anything you want to do. I know you can handle everything on your own, but you're not alone anymore. Sometimes, it's fine to rely on me a little, okay? I want to be needed by you."

Lucas' words deeply touched Melody. She had always felt like the one who was not needed, and she had never been chosen so resolutely before. Tears started welling up in her eyes.

Lucas cupped Melody's face when he heard her sniffle. "What's wrong? Why are you crying? Did I say something to upset you?"

Melody shook her head and leaned affectionately into Lucas' palm. "I'm not sad. I'm happy that you're here, and grateful that I met you."

Lucas smiled in return. "Yeah, meeting you is the luckiest thing for me too."

They shared a smile. Although their relationship originated from a contract, who could say it was not the best arrangement from above?

Melody and Lucas chatted for a while longer while hugging each other, until a crew member knocked on their door, prompting them to sit up straight. "Miss Melody, Mister Shaun said there's one last scene left. Please get ready, and you can go home once the scene's done."

Melody's ears reddened slightly as she understood what Shaun meant. It was a signal for her to finish shooting and then go on a date with Lucas. "Alright, you tell Mister Shaun I'll be right there," Melody responded.

After she made sure the crew member had left, Melody turned to Lucas and asked him to wait in her dressing room.

"I'll be back in about an hour. Will you wait here for me, or do you need to head back to the company?"

"Go ahead I wait for you here. It's perfect because I was planning to visit Grandma today. She's been asking about you, constantly nagging about when I'll bring you home for dinner," Lucas said.

Melody could not help but smile when she heard that. Since her foot healed, she moved to a new place with Lucas and no longer stayed in the dormitory. They had much more time together, and although she missed Beatrice, she could not deny that she preferred the time alone with Lucas.

"That works perfectly. We can sleep over at their house tonight. That'll give us more time to be with them," Melody replied.

Lucas nodded. "Alright. Go ahead. I'll wait here."

After Melody left, Lucas leaned back on the sofa and closed his eyes for a short rest. Little did anyone know, Wendy had not left the set. She had simply found a place to hide.

After seeing Melody leave and spending a while in a secluded corner, Wendy pushed the door open upon hearing no sound from inside the dressing room.

While Lucas waited for Melody, he

unintentionally drifted off to sleep. He did not even wake up when Wendy pushed the door open. Previously, while waiting for Melody, he had seen various people come and go, but they were all crew members.
