Moreover, Thalia was obsessed with Lucas. This meant she would never allow Quinn to have inappropriate thoughts about him.

Lucas merely nodded out of courtesy. He shook her hand gently and let go.

Quinn whimpered softly as if she was excited.

Thalia was a little unhappy to see this and frowned slightly. After Quinn caught her sight, she pursed her lips.

Lucas took Melody to prepare food. Since everyone was here, they could not just turn them away.

When the two of them were out of sight, Thalia pulled Quinn aside and asked, "What was that?"

"What do you mean? I didn't mean anything."

Thalia sneered contemptuously. "We've known each other for so many years. Do you still want to pretend in front of me? I saw in your eyes how you wanted to seduce him."

Thalia was not particularly quiet when she spoke. Although Lucas' house was big enough, there was no guarantee that the two of them would not hear these words in the kitchen.

It was rare, but Quinn's face turned red. "How can you say that? You can't say that to me just because you're my friend! Don't forget why you brought me here today." Thalia's face darkened. "No duh, I do remember! But remember your place. You promised to keep your hands off my man."

With that, Thalia left the corner and walked into the kitchen.

Quinn rolled her eyes. How grateful of her.

She came to help Thalia with good intentions but was scolded instead.

Nonetheless, Lucas was indeed particularly fascinating. Even if she was scolded, she did not regret reaching out to shake his hand.

"Lucas, is there anything you need our help with?" said Thalia to Lucas as innocently as possible.

Melody mentally scoffed.

"No, you and your friend are guests. Just wait outside."

Frankly, Thalia never imagined what Lucas was like cooking. She never knew that he would cook for a woman.

He was a clean freak and hated greasy food. When cooking, he would inevitably get oil on himself. To keep Melody's hands dry, he just asked Melody to help wash the vegetable leaves.

Thalia was jealous to see the obviously unreasonable division duties between the two of them Thalia felt hatred, inevitably sounding sour when she spoke.

"Melody, why are you just standing at the side and not helping? I think it's not a good idea to instruct Lucas like this even if you're husband and wife."

Melody turned and smiled lightly. "He likes to help me do this. I just need to be by his side. Ask him yourself."

Melody was too patient when she interacted with Thalia in the past making it seem like she could be easily taken advantage of. This time, she would not tolerate that as she was Lucas' wife.

Melody never spoke like this before. Lucas glanced at her quickly and smiled.

"I asked her not to even wash the vegetables, but she wanted to accompany me to do something, so she washed them.

"Melody, you're going to have to head out. This place smells of oil smoke, and I know you don't like that."

Thalia's expression looked ugly. Lucas used to always indulge her and side with her. When did it all change?
