Melody looked at the dresses Paige had picked out with some concern. "Paige, won't me wearing these high-end designs as a newcomer be too ostentatious?"

Paige shot her a glare. "This occasion is all about female stars showcasing their style and competing for attention. Don't tell me you're planning to walk the red carpet in something plain and ordinary. Your fans might tear me apart if they see that! With such abundant resources, we must pick the perfect outfit for you."

Melody shrugged. "Paige, don't make my fans sound so unreasonable."

"Sure, sure, they're reasonable. And you're reasonable too, right? It's just me who's unreasonable. Now, let's just pick one. I'm sure your fans would want to see you looking gorgeous on that day."

As soon as Melody heard that, she compromised. These designer dresses were all beautiful. Lucas had explicitly told Melody she could buy whichever one she wanted; there was no need to borrow like other celebrities. Melody got the first dibs, and only after she made her selection would others get their turn.

Melody thought all of the dresses were beautiful; she could not pick a favorite. Paige suggested she try them all, and during the process, Melody did not forget to send the photos to Lucas. However, before she could make a decision, Lucas called her.

"Choose the white one," said Lucas in his low, husky voice.

Melody blushed. "Are the others not good?"

"You look beautiful in every one of them," replied Lucas truthfully.

Melody had a stunning figure, standing at 5 feet 5 inches tall, with perfect proportions. Any dress would compliment her well.

"Hmph. Fine, then. I'll get the white one," said Melody.

That day, Lucas had also received an invitation to the awards ceremony.

"Would you be upset if I attended the awards ceremony?" Lucas tentatively asked.

Melody immediately shook her head.

"Of course not! I'll be so nervous that

day. I was actually thinking how

great it would be if you could accompany me. But this is an entertainment industry affair and you, being from the business world, probably can't come, huh?

Melody seemed a bit clueless, and Paige could not help but shake her head. Apart from her excellent acting skills, it was difficult to tell that Melody was working in the entertainment industry. Each awards ceremony was attended by not only actors but also many prominent figures from the business world.

However, Lucas had never attended such events before. His question was likely his way of expressing his desire to accompany Melody. Only she, being clueless, thought he could not attend.

It seemed that Lucas was aware of the recent online arguments between Melody's fans and the fans of the Best Actress. The Best Actress' fans claimed that Melody was the one clinging to Lucas, and he did not care about her at all.

Melody was unaware of this, but Lucas had made up his mind to attend the ceremony with her to quell the rumors.

The thought of the two of them

attending the prestigious Golden Feather Awards together held significant meaning for Melody. Paige could not help but feel gratified as well; she thought it was time to vehemently confront those detractors and show them how much Lucas cared for Melody.

On the day of the Golden Feather Awards, Melody still did not know that Lucas would be attending. After taking a photo of her all dressed up and made-up, she thoughtfully sent Lucas a link to the live broadcast.

"Feast your eyes on your beautiful wife."

"Wouldn't it be more impactful to see it live?" Lucas casually remarked.

"Yeah, I want you to do that too," grumbled Melody.
