My jaw drops. “Is that why I haven’t fully awoken as a demon? Does Dante know?” She nods. “He has known for a while but just wanted to be sure. He has been very patient, which surprises me. I believe you will be good for him; he only has eyes for you.” I think for a bit. “Everything you are feeling is normal for someone in love. Being mates is just a plus.”

In love? Me? With Dante? How have I not known? Does he even feel the same way? “I don’t know, Adria, and I am sorry to have dropped this on you.” She smiles. “I told you before, I like you, so I have already accepted you as Lady, now let’s go before Dante sends a search team for us.” As we leave the bathroom, Dante is waiting down the hall. He cautiously approaches me. “Naila, are you okay?” I nod

“I am fine. Can we head back? I uh want to talk to you.” Adria looks at me. “Go on and remember what I said, Naila.” She heads back to the gathering. Dante is just looking at me. “Do you want to walk back or…” Why is he asking? “I don’t feel like walking.” He holds me close, and I close my eyes. Whoosh! He doesn’t let go. I raise my head to look up at him, and his face is unreadable.

“Naila, I was serious when I told you I fell in love with you on sight. That night we met, I got the tip about Draco’s men and them being at your job. I was supposed to scare them away, and I intended never to meet you.” He sighed and led me to the bed and sat. I sat next to him, and he took my hand.

“When I promised your father I would protect you after he went to deal with Draco, he showed me a picture of you. I knew you were my mate; I thought you would be like the others. I told your father I couldn’t do it, and I told him why. It was almost as if he could see the future, up until the end, till the last time I saw him, he said....”

Dante sighs deeply. “I give you my blessing, son. That was the last thing he said to me. I was stubborn, so I planned to protect you from a distance. I thought that if I met you, I would kill you on sight. After dealing with the goons behind your job, it was around the time for you to get off. I thought I missed you, I saw you running to catch the bus, and everything around me was in slow motion. I slowly started walking towards you, and then you tripped on your shoelace.”

I bite my lip, remembering my clumsiness. Did Dante have to mention that? And what is this feeling I am feeling? “I stopped right in front of you, ready to help, but you head-butted me in the stomach and then proceeded to call me a wall.” I blush, embarrassed. “The rest is history, but what I am getting at is from that moment I saw you were running towards me. I knew it was game over. Everything that I thought mattered before you, no longer did you were, are, and forever will be my priority. I will stop at nothing to protect you, Naila. I do love you.”

He reaches and wipes the tears that have fallen from my eyes. Where the hell did these damn tears come from? “Dante, I, that was, I-I want to say I love you too, but I don’t know what that is. Geeze, why am I crying? Crying isn’t like me at all….” Dante continues to wipe my tears. “It doesn’t matter if you don’t know what it is. Let me show you, allow me to show you, please.”

I nod, and Dante leans forward and kisses me very briefly. He stands up and undresses slowly, keeping his darkened eyes on mine the whole time. “You have two options, take it off yourself, or I’m ripping them off.” I quickly stand, pausing for a moment. “I like both options….” I turn for him to unzip my dress, letting it fall, then I step out of it, putting it to the side. No matter how rich he is, I can’t let him rip that dress.

Dante steps towards me, and I back up into the bed. He reaches out and touches the thin material over my breasts and rips it like it were nothing. Dipping his head, he kisses me again, this time deeper and those feelings I felt earlier were back. I moan, relishing the sensation; his hands trail down and grip my ass, lifting me and placing me on the bed. He pulled back, staring, drinking me in.

Everything this man does is sexy. His hands replace my breasts again, groping and kneading, pinching at the peaks that are my nipples. Soon his mouth is on them, sucking and licking, alternating between the two. My body is getting so hot. I am beginning to feel like I might lose it. His hands then wander down my stomach going lower.

I am wearing a white lace thong that was short-lived cause Dante rips it off of me. He kisses the inside of my thigh and pauses, then bites me. That sensitive area sent a wave of pleasure through my whole body. His fingers touch my wet core, and as he sinks his teeth in, he plunges his finger inside me, giving me more pleasure.

I moan out, trying not to move too much. Dante slips another finger inside of me and starts to thrust them inside. He pulls his teeth out and his fingers after some time. “Did that hurt you?” I shake my head. “No, quite the opposite.” He smiles, then opens my legs, positioning his tip at my entrance.

He slowly slides inside. I moan softly. I feel like it’s been so long since we had sex. His pace is slow and steady as he kisses me deeply, swallowing my moans. Dante starts to thrust a bit harder and faster. I wrap my arms around him, kissing him profoundly, allowing his tongue in my mouth. His hands are trailing my body, leaving goosebumps in their path. He breaks the kiss to take a few breaths. I can feel the familiar buildup in me, wanting to be released. I squeeze around him as I get closer to my climax.

He groans at the sensation, thrusting deeper and slower, hitting my spot over and over again. I come undone beneath him, moaning out; he kisses me, grunting as his orgasm takes him. He pulls back, looking me in my eyes. “You are so beautiful. I fucking love you.” He kisses me, pulls out, then cuddles me. “Get some rest. You deserve it.” I get comfortable on the bed, and then I am asleep.

“Dante, get off of my tail. I can’t sleep like this.” I mumble, half asleep. Dante takes my tail and tosses it on my side. I open my eyes. Wait tail? Dante sits up. “Tail?” Then I sit up. “Oh, Naila! You have a tail!” He gets up and turns the light on, and I instantly squint. He inhales sharply, his eyes trailing my body in amusement, then he frowns.

“What is it?” He touches my head. “You’re missing your horns. You have your claws, tail, and your skin is such a lovely shade of red. Never mind, we will figure it out in the morning. Turn back if you can. If not, please don’t stab me with your tail. I don’t want to wake up in a puddle of my blood.” He turns the light off and gets back in bed. “How do I change back?” He shakes his head. “Don’t worry about it, love.” Dante wraps his arms around me, and I am soon asleep once again.

I stretch, yawning as I wake up. “Did you sleep well, babe?” I nod. My eyes were still foggy. “Good, glad to hear it. Yeah, could you take your tail from out of my stomach?” I stiffen and turn to see Dante sitting on the bed glaring at me. I pull my tail out, and Dante grunts. I wave my hand, reversing the blood back into his body, healing him. “Did that hurt?” He doesn’t answer and gets up and heads to the bathroom. I think he is upset.

I smile, then walk up to the mirror, staring at myself. “I haven’t changed back, and I wonder how the remedy is coming along.” I touch the choker on my neck. Dante comes up behind me and kisses my cheek. “I thought you were mad at me.” He walks to the closet and puts on some clothes. “I can’t be mad at something you can’t control. Did it hurt? Of course, it hurt; I can feel pain, you know.” He zips his pants, and my eyes trail down his body. “I am so sorry…Dante.”
