I joined him on the bed, and he cuddled me. “Naila, I have to tell you something.” I turn to face him. “What is it?” I take one hand and gently caress my cheek. “I have to leave for a bit, but I will be back as soon as possible. Adria is going to come with me. Leo will be guarding you.” I feel a bit uneasy.

I don’t think that is a good idea. “Dante, now might not be the best time for you to leave.” He inhales. “I know, but I got a lead on Draco. I want to get to him before he gets to you. As much as I don’t want to leave you, I have to do this; you aren’t ready to take him on. But Leo will help train you, and before you know it, you will be able to join me.” Dante leaving isn’t a good idea. I just lay there and think, this doesn’t feel right. He pulls me closer and kisses me. “Everything is going to be okay; I love you, Naila.”

That night Dante showed me love, like never before. But the following day, when I woke up, he was gone. I hope you know what you are doing, Dante. I sit up, sore and tender from last night. I get ready for training and meet Leo after breakfast. “Naila, how are you?” He eyes me cautiously. I raise an eyebrow in return. “I am fine, just a bit worried. Something tells me Dante is going to walk in a trap.” Leo’s eyes widen.

“You are your mothers’ daughter. Dante knew the tip was bait; he was letting himself fall for it. So within the time that he is away, he needs you to get stronger just in case he can’t make it to you in time.” I begin stretching. “In time for what? The big kidnapping?” Leo nods.

“Draco is planning something, and he needs you for it, alive. I know Draco won’t intentionally hurt you….” I am sitting on the floor stretching my legs. “How could you be so sure? He hurt me the first time he saw me.” Leo sighed. “That was to put the curse on you. Dante knows this better than anyone, and I am not sure if I am at liberty to say more. And don’t even think about using Command Voice on me. It won’t work.”

Tch, I wanted to try it out on him. “Fine, whatever you say, let’s just get started on the training, shall we?” Leo looks at me questioningly. “Are you sure, uh Dante said to give you a day’s rest…” I blush, knowing what Dante meant, but instantly shake the thought. “We have no time to waste on unneeded resting; I am fine too, so let’s start.”

Leo nods and starts my training, which consists of bringing out my demon and controlling it. He also wanted to work on Truths Eye but decided not to. There was no point in working on Command Voice since it didn’t work on him, so I used my free time to use it on Cornelius, which he happily obliged.

It had been weeks since I last saw Dante, and I was beginning to miss him deeply, which seemed to mess with my training. I broke my leg three times today because I wasn’t focused. “Naila! What are you distracted by?! You were progressing so well; what is going on with you?” Leo yelled at me, we were training in the mountains, but I didn’t hear a word he said. “Leo, this isn’t good…Draco is here.”
