The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric) -
Chapter 1586 Are There After-Effects?
The doctor standing not far away could not bear to watch any longer.
His patient just wanted to hug Nicole. Why was that so difficult?
Under Nicole's rebuke, Kai emotionally let go of Clayton.
"I... I'll inform the others!"
Clayton was awake. They could leave this place immediately!
It was clear skies after the rain.
Lil Michael sniffled and let go, tilting his head up to look at Clayton.
His daddy got better, and his wish came true, so he would give Pretty Lady to his daddy for now.
After all, the patient was the most important.
Clayton watched her stand there motionlessly for a few seconds of silence.
They looked at each other, but no one spoke again.
The next second.
He smiled and took a step forward, but this step was a little difficult.
His face instantly paled, different from his previous appearance.
Clayton almost lost his balance, but just as he was about to fall, a warm and soft body suddenly jumped into his arms, holding onto his waist.
His chest choked and he hugged her back tightly, unable to let go of her at all.
How could he bear to let her go?
Clayton walked through the gates of hell. His consciousness was only groggy for a few days, yet it felt like years had passed.
He could feel Nicole sitting beside him from time to time, not saying a word. She was just there to let him feel at ease. However, he wanted to see her smiling face. He wanted to touch her warm skin and participate in every aspect of her life. So he woke up.
The two of them were calm on the surface, as if it was just a long-awaited hug.
However, they knew very well in their hearts how emotional they really were. The pent-up emotions surged and raged.
Clayton suddenly laughed weakly, and the corners of his lips curled in an arc. He was glad that he had come back alive after a close brush with death.
He leaned his head sideways and rested his chin on
Nicole's shoulder.
He breathed in lightly.
It was still that familiar smell, sweet and soft. It made him willing to give up his life.
This was the moment he truly came back to life.
After an unknown amount of time, the doctor finally could not help but cough.
The two people reluctantly parted.
They felt like this doctor was too untactful.
He should be giving them some space now.
The doctor calmly pretended that he did not see anything and spoke.
"Since Mr. Sloan is awake, let's perform a checkup on him and let the experts formulate the next treatment plan. He just woke up and can't stand for too long. If his body isn't adapted to the blood supply, he'll faint if he gets too agitated."
He added thoughtfully.
Clayton smiled breathlessly and said, "Alright. Thank you, doctor."
That was the explanation as to why he was uncomfortable as soon as he stood up.
One of his hands was still on her shoulder. The next second, he hugged her again before letting go with a sigh.
"Forget it. If I continue on like this, I'm really going to faint."
His face was pale. He had been forcing himself to hold on.
Nicole paused and anxiously went over to hug his waist.
"Does it hurt? Is it the after-effects?"
There was a tremor in her voice.
It was fear.
The corners of Clayton's mouth pulled up in a smile. "It's okay. It doesn't hurt that much."
His voice was light and airy, sounding weak and breathless.
Nicole's heart sank. She knew that he was lying and quickly looked at the doctor.
"Doctor, where's the wheelchair?"
The doctor nodded and hurriedly went in to push the wheelchair out. He only sighed in relief when Clayton carefully sat on it. "Let's go do a checkup first..."
Of course, they had to listen to the doctor's arrangements.
Clayton reached out, and Nicole held his hand.
She smiled. "I'll be here with you. Don't worry, you'll
see me again when you're done with your checkup."
Clayton's eyes were warm and modest, as if they could overflow with emotions. His voice was clear.
"Okay, I have so much to say to you."
