The Deserted Rich Beauty (Nicole and eric)
Chapter 1967 Can't Delay Your Studies

Nicole pushed open the car door by herself and saw Clayton standing there, looking tall and handsome.

The gentle smile on his face as he looked at her concealed the coldness from before.

It seemed that Clayton's conversation with Grant did not affect his mood.

'Grant didn't scold him at all?' Nicole thought.

She got out of the car, ran over, and hugged Clayton tightly.

Clayton's chest moved as he let out a low chuckle. He patted her on the shoulder and said, "Babe, if you hug me any longer, Big Brother will regret not beating me up earlier in the car..." Nicole froze slightly and reluctantly let go of Clayton.

She was too tired and sleepy on the plane, so she did not get to hug him earlier.

Moreover, her conversation with Aida just now suddenly made her feel a strong sense of dependence on Clayton.

Nicole stood up straight. When she loosened her grip, Clayton lowered his head and kissed her forehead gently and fondly. She felt like she was electrocuted.

No one seemed to notice the couple's interaction.

Nicole wrapped her arm around his waist and retracted it as if nothing had happened.

When Grant and Aida got closer to them, Nicole could see that Grant's eyes were still cold, but he looked to be in a much better mood than before.

Mr. Anderson came over with a smile.

"Eldest Young Master, did you come over together? It's such a coincidence that Kai is also here today. How lively!"

They could not act too differently in front of the butler.

So, Aida smiled and said, "We dropped by to pick up Lil N and found out that Clayton just arrived, so we went to the airport on the way here."

"No wonder..."

The butler smiled knowingly.

Grant strode forward, and Nicole obediently followed behind him. She jogged a few steps and said with an ingratiating smile, "You're the best brother in the world that I admire the most since I was young... Grant suddenly stopped walking as he almost lost his footing on the steps.

This puffery came too sudden.

Kai, who stood on the steps waiting to greet them, happened to see this scene.

Suddenly, Kai bent down >h#;VMW> gagged.

Grant glanced at him coldly.

Kai laughed recklessly and loudly.

"Ms. Stanton, Big Brother has something over you, right? That's what you said to me last time when you wanted to swipe my card while shopping! Hahahaha..."

In an instant, the air turned cold.

Grant glared at Kai fiercely and ignored him as he walked inside.

Nicole strode over and stomped on Kai's foot.

"No one will think that you're mute if you don't speak!"

Kai gasped and complained to Clayton, who walked over at this time.

"Can't you control her temper?! I thought that she'd be better once she's married, but it looks like she hasn't changed at all!"

Clayton smiled warmly and innocently as he looked at Kai and said, "Does she have a temper? She must've stepped on you accidentally. I didn't see what happened."

The corners of Kai's mouth twitched, and he was speechless.

"Hmph! Don't you regret it if she tramples on you like this next time!"

Clayton paused, and his lips were pressed into a straight line.

His voice was extremely calm and serious as he said, "She doesn't weigh anything, so it won't hurt even if she stomps on me. I won't mind her stepping on me if it makes her happy." Kai was completely speechless as he limped inside.

He had nothing else to say to Clayton.

Clayton was just a man blinded by love.

Aida watched the whole situation from behind. She laughed as she shook her head and followed them inside.

Nicole watched as Grant sat on the sofa carrying Chatty while Floyd was drinking tea.

Seeing Nicole walk in, Floyd raised his eyebrows.

"You finally came back? I asked you to go out so that you can relax. I didn't ask you to hang out with Yvette until you forgot your family! Chatty called you yesterday, but you didn't answer!" Floyd glared at Nicole angrily.

Nicole immediately understood the excuse that Grant came up with.

Poor Miss Yvette...

She smiled and said, "I was really worried about Yvette's situation, so I went to check on her. Aren't I back now?"

Floyd snorted lightly. "Lance won't sit idly by, so don't worry about it."

"Okay!"

Nicole went over wanting to play with Chatty.

However, Chatty was still mad at Nicole, so the little girl turned her head and hugged Grant's neck tightly without letting go.

Nicole froze for a moment and thought,' This little heartless brat!'

Grant glanced at Nicole with a smile.

He patted Chatty gently on the back. He was very experienced in handling kids and taught Levi very well.

Levi had classes in the morning, so he did not come here often.

Floyd laughed when he saw this scene.

"Look, even your daughter is mad at you!"

He was adding insult to injury.

Nicole pouted and persisted in coaxing Chatty.

Grant was soft-hearted toward his sister and could not bear to stay mad at Nicole, so he turned around to let Nicole see Chatty's face.

Floyd was stunned for a while when Clayton and Aida came in.

"You're back so soon? Why didn't you tell us beforehand?"

Aida sat beside Grant and held Chatty's little hand fondly.

Clayton glanced at his daughter and nodded at Floyd with a smile.

"I resolved the issue before schedule and was afraid that Nicole would worry, so I came back as soon as possible."

Floyd nodded and breathed a sigh of relief.

"Great! Nicole was so anxious when you were away. It's good that you're back."

With that said, Floyd asked the butler to cook some of Clayton's favorite dishes.

The butler responded happily and went to the kitchen to start preparing.

Clayton walked over. He noticed Nicole's disappointed eyes, so he reached out and patted her on the shoulder so that she would stand up.

He sat in Nicole's seat and stretched out his hands toward Chatty.

"Baby girl, do you want Daddy to hug you?"

As soon as Chatty heard her father's voice, she turned to look at him.

After a few seconds of consideration, Chatty happily blew out some spit bubbles and threw herself into Clayton's arms.

Nicole was speechless when she saw this.

Clayton happily hugged his daughter with a bright smile on his face.

Aida stood up. "Chatty is so smart!"

Grant laughed. "Her little temper is just like Lil N!"

Everyone looked at each other and laughed helplessly.

Kai came out of the kitchen holding a fruit platter and gloated.

"I'd say that Clayton is more experienced with children. Even if Chatty hasn't seen Clayton for a while, she can still remember what her father looks like!"

Clayton smiled. "Actually, it's inherent in her memory. She got used to my voice because she spent a lot of time with me. It's quite easy to cultivate a child's sense of dependence."

He was saying this to comfort Nicole.

Nicole also thought that it made sense.

She decided that it was time to cultivate Chatty's sense of dependence on her.

Clayton loved his daughter very much.

Once he carried Chatty, he was reluctant to let go of her.

Nicole hovered over them for a while and bent over to see Chatty.

"You must be very tired, let me hold her for a while!"

Clayton squeezed Chatty's little hand and subconsciously said, "I'm not tired."

He paused and suddenly noticed Nicole's displeased face.

Clayton coughed and handed Chatty to Nicole.

Chatty did not want to leave Clayton and felt so aggrieved that she almost cried.

Clayton felt heartbroken and quickly withdrew his hand.

Nicole was rendered speechless.

Clayton hesitated for a moment, stretched out his other leg, and patted his thigh.

"Why don't you sit here?"

Nicole asked, "Are you sure?"

She had no problem with it, but Clayton quickly regretted it.

"Never mind, let's go home for that..."

The corners of Nicole's mouth twitched when she saw his solemn rejection, but her ears somehow turned red.

Her face felt like it was burning.
