THE DEVIL HERSELF -
Chapter 37
Scarlet walked out of the bathroom, her hair still damp from the shower, and immediately reached for her phone. She dialed Jack's number, her expression steely with determination.
"Jack, I need you to send all the evidence and videos of Smith and his men killing and raping the quadruplets' parents and elder sister to death. Send it to them anonymously. I'll text you their numbers." She ended the call and quickly sent the numbers of Lucas, Lucky, and Lotus.
A few minutes later, a knock on her door signaled their arrival. She allowed them in, and they walked into her room, their eyes reflecting a deep, raw pain. They weren't crying, but the anguish was much.
Scarlet looked at them, her voice was firm yet gentle. "I know this is hard, but don't do anything rash. I wanted you to know who Smith really is. Wait for my orders." Lucas nodded solemnly. "We understand. Thank you for telling us."
Scarlet gave a curt nod and left them, heading to the meeting room where the superior members of the clan were waiting. Diego, Dracula, Rachel, Arizona, Lucky, Lucas, Lotus, Vincento, Ryder, Piper, and Tyler were already seated. Scar was absent, preparing for her surgery.
Scarlet took her place at the head of the table, her presence commanding. "We have a critical mission," she began, her voice carrying authority. "We're going to San Giacomo, a rural village in Italy. The Hunter's Clan is shipping guns, cocaine, bombs, and more to Russia tonight. We will intercept, exchange the real goods for fake ones, and bring the originals back here."
She paused, letting the gravity of the mission sink in. "The guards are highly trained. This won't be easy. You must fight with everything you have. We leave now."
Chance distributed ear pods to everyone. "These will keep us in constant communication. I'll guide you through the mission," he said, his voice steady. DDD SAN GIACOMO
The team geared up and set off for San Giacomo. The village was quaint and unsuspecting, its rustic charm hiding the deadly cargo hidden within its borders. They arrived under the cover of darkness, moving stealthily through the narrow, cobbled streets.
"Alright, team," Chance's voice crackled in their ears. "The shipment is in a warehouse at the edge of the village. Security is tight. Move in pairs and watch each other's backs."
Scarlet paired them off: Diego with Rachel, Dracula with Arizona, Lucky with Lucas, Lotus with Vincento, and Ryder with Piper. She moved alone, her senses on high alert.
They approached the warehouse, slipping past patrols with practiced ease. The building loomed before them, its windows dark and foreboding. Scarlet signaled for them to move in.
Inside, the air was thick with tension. Guards patrolled the perimeter, their eyes sharp and movements precise. Scarlet motioned for the team to spread out, each pair taking a different entrance.
"Move quickly and quietly," she whispered into the comms. "We have to swap the goods without being detected."
Rachel and Diego slipped into the loading bay, where crates of weapons and drugs were stacked high. Rachel quickly assessed the situation. "We'll need to neutralize those guards," she said, pointing to two men standing watch. Diego nodded, moving with silent precision. Within seconds, the guards were down, their throats slit cleanly. Rachel moved to the crates, beginning the delicate process of swapping the contents with the fakes they had brought.
In another part of the warehouse, Dracula and Arizona were dealing with a similar situation. Arizona took down a guard with a well-placed knife throw, while Dracula overpowered another with brute strength. They worked quickly, moving the real crates to their truck parked outside.
Just as the last crate was being swapped, an alarm sounded. "Intruders!" a voice shouted, and chaos erupted.
"Get ready!" Scarlet barked into the comms. "We're outnumbered but not outmatched. Fight smart!"
Guards poured into the warehouse, guns blazing. Scarlet ducked behind a crate, returning fire with deadly accuracy. A guard fell, a bullet through his forehead. She moved swiftly, her movements a blur as she took down enemy after enemy. Diego and Rachel found themselves surrounded. Diego used his martial arts skills to disarm and disable several attackers, while Rachel's precise shooting kept their enemies at bay. "We're pinned down!" Diego called out. "Hold your position," Scarlet ordered. "Help is coming."

Dracula and Arizona fought their way through the warehouse, their combined strength and agility proving a lethal combination. Dracula's sheer force crushed anyone who got in his way, while Arizona's speed and accuracy ensured no one got close.
Lucky and Lucas fought side by side, their bond as brothers strengthening their resolve. Lucas fired at the approaching guards, his shots hitting their marks. Lucky covered him, taking out anyone who tried to flank them.
Vincento and Lotus were engaged in a fierce hand-to-hand combat with several guards. Vincento's combat skills were unmatched, and Lotus's agility allowed her to outmaneuver her opponents. They fought with relentless determination, knowing the mission's success depended on their efforts.
Just as the team was beginning to tire, a new wave of attackers surged into the warehouse. Scarlet's heart sank-there were too many. But then, through the chaos, she heard a familiar voice. "We're here to help!"
It was Bingo and some of the clan members. They stormed into the warehouse, their arrival a turning point. Bingo and the men fought with a ferocity that matched Scarlet's own team, their presence tipping the scales in their favor. Scarlet saw Bingo taking down enemies with ruthless efficiency. The men moved with precision, their coordinated attacks overwhelming the Hunter's Clan guards.
"Thank you, Bingo," Scarlet said through the comms. "We owe you." she had totally forgotten that Bingo was now a part of her clan. He would have definitely been of a great help to them but thank goodness he made it in time. "No thanks needed," Bingo replied. "We're in this together."
The battle raged on for what felt like hours, but eventually, the Hunter's Clan guards were defeated. The warehouse was littered with bodies, the air thick with the scent of blood and gunpowder. The team regrouped, some members badly injured but all alive.
Rachel was nursing a gunshot wound to her arm, and Diego had a deep gash on his side. Lucas and Lucky were bruised and battered, but their spirits were unbroken. Vincento had a broken rib, and Lotus a sprained ankle. Dracula and Arizona, though bloodied, were still standing strong.

"We did it," Scarlet said, her voice filled with a mixture of relief and exhaustion. "Let's get the goods and get out of here."
They loaded the real crates into their trucks and headed back to their compound, the mission a success despite the heavy toll.

Once back at the compound, Scarlet checked on her injured team members, ensuring they received the medical attention they needed. She felt a mix of pride and guilt-the mission had been necessary, but the cost had been high. She found Diego, who was resting after having his wounds treated. "Thank you," she said quietly, sitting beside him.
Diego gave her a tired smile. "We're a team, Scarlet. We look out for each other."
She nodded, the weight of leadership pressing heavily on her shoulders. "We're not done yet. Smith is next. He'll pay for everything he's done."
Diego's eyes hardened. "We'll be ready."
He slowly stared at her for a while, wishing he could just kiss her and take away all her pain but he just can't do without her.
As the team members all went to bed, Scarlet began planning her next move. Smith's time was running out, and she would make sure his end was as painful as the suffering he had caused. The evidence would be leaked, exposing his atrocities to the world.
Scarlet walked through the compound unable to sleep a wink, the determination in her eyes evident to everyone she passed. The fight was far from over. It was already morning, she was awake all night and now she still can't sleep. She has never been sleep for more than 20 years of her life, and everyone involved in it would die one after the other.
In the shadows of the compound, Scarlet's resolve hardened. She was ready for the next battle, and she would stop at nothing to see it through.
