THE DEVIL HERSELF -
Chapter 47
Scarlet returned to the Clan's headquarters after the bloody confrontation with Stone and his men. She walked through the corridors, her expression unreadable. The adrenaline of the fight had faded, leaving a cold determination in its wake. She needed to focus on the next steps, but first, she needed solitude.
Upon reaching her apartment, she addressed the guards stationed outside. "I don't want to be disturbed by anyone, including Diego," she ordered. The guards nodded, understanding the severity of her command.
Scarlet entered her apartment, shutting the door firmly behind her. She took a moment to gather her thoughts, trying to shake off the weight of the day's events. However, her solitude was short-lived.
The door opened, and Dracula stepped in, using his authority as the third boss to bypass the guards. He approached Scarlet cautiously, his usual bravado replaced by an uncharacteristic hesitation.
"Scarlet, I need to talk to you," he began, his voice laced with remorse. "I'm sorry for what I did. I didn't mean to drug you. I don't know what came over me."
Scarlet's eyes narrowed. "You know my feelings for you, yet you still decided to choose my brother over me. Why?"
Her response was icy and immediate. "Because he's not as stupid as you. Just because I decided to loosen up around you doesn't give you the right to try anything with me. I am a devil with emotions, not a heart. You crossed a line, Dracula." Her words cut deep, leaving Dracula visibly shaken. "Scarlet, please... I was just "
"Enough," she snapped, her voice like a whip. "Get out of my sight. You disgust me."
Dracula's shoulders slumped as he turned and left the room. Scarlet's eyes followed him with a mix of anger and disappointment. Once he was gone, she called the guards who had let him in.
"You disobeyed my orders," she stated coldly, pulling out her gun. Without hesitation, she shot them both dead, their bodies crumpling to the floor. Alec and Lars, who had been nearby, quickly moved to clear the bodies, understanding the consequences of defying Scarlet when she was in such a state.
Back in his room, Dracula was seething with anger and humiliation. He picked up his phone and made a call. The voice on the other end was terse.
"This is Dracula. The plan failed. Scarlet found out everything."
"What are you saying?" the voice demanded.
Dracula clenched his fists. "I need your help. We need to take Diego out of the picture. He's the reason Scarlet won't see me."
The voice on the other end hesitated. "Are you sure you want to go down this path?"
"Yes," Dracula replied, his voice filled with determination. "It's the only way."
# <~~~~ COMPUTER LAB ~~~>
In the Clan's computer lab, Chance was engrossed in a game when his screen flashed with a new message. The sender was anonymous. Curious and cautious, he opened the message and read it. His heart raced as he realized the potential danger. He knew he had to inform Scarlet.
He quietly stood up and went to her apartment. He knocked several times before he was given permission to come in.
Scarlet walked of the bathroom with her normal bum shorts and crop top with her golden waist chain.
"Why are you disturbing me?" She asked, clearly annoyed by his presence.
"There's something important I would like you to see for your self please" Chance stammered slightly under her intense gaze.
"Let's go" she walked out first while he followed up.
On getting to the computer lab. "Boss, I received this message. It's anonymous, but it's important."
Scarlet's eyes scanned the message, her expression hardening. "Hack into the satellite. We need to replace out who sent this."
Chance hesitated. "Boss, that's risky. If they trace it back to us-"
"Do it," she ordered, her voice brooking no argument.
Chance swallowed hard and began typing furiously, his fingers flying over the keyboard. The room was silent except for the rapid clicking of keys. Beads of sweat formed on his forehead as he navigated through layers of security. The fear was unimaginable, but he pushed through it, knowing failure was not an option.
Finally, the screen flashed with new information. "Got it," he said, his voice shaky. "The message was sent by Lord Ace."
Scarlet's eyes narrowed. "Good work, Chance. This is crucial information."
Elsewhere in the Clan's headquarters, other members were having more mundane conversations. In the common room, Janet and Tyler were discussing their personal lives. "How's your family, Janet?" Tyler asked, taking a sip of his drink.
"They're good. My sister just had a baby," Janet replied with a smile. "A little boy. I'm planning to visit them once things settle down here."
"That's great news," Tyler said, genuinely happy for her. "I haven't seen my family in a while. My brother's birthday is coming up. I might send him a gift."
"Family is important," Janet agreed. "It's nice to have something good to look forward to."
In another corner, Lucas and Piper were engaged in a more lighthearted conversation.
"Did you see the look on Leo's face before we took him down?" Lucas chuckled. "He looked like he was about to piss himself."
As you reach the final pages, remember that 000005s.com is your destination for the complete story. Share the joy of reading with others and spread the word. The next chapter is just a visit away! Piper laughed. "He did! It's always satisfying to see those bastards get what's coming to them."
Lucas nodded, his expression turning serious. "But we can't let our guard down. Lord Ace is still out there."
Piper's smile faded. "You're right. We need to be ready for anything."
Back in the computer lab, Scarlet and Chance continued to discuss their next steps. "We have to be careful," Chance said, his voice filled with concern. "If Lord Ace knows we're onto him, he'll retaliate." Scarlet nodded. "We need to stay ahead of him. Use this information to our advantage."
Chance felt a sense of pride despite his fear. "I'll do whatever it takes, Boss. We'll get him."
Scarlet placed a hand on his shoulder, her touch surprisingly gentle. "I know we will because failure is not an option in this clan. I don't raise Failures like him that's why we are more smarter than him."
As Scarlet left the lab, she went to the bar to get a drink. As soon as opened it she remembered the way Gloria would always scold her for drinks and smokin with out eating. She poured herself a drink and drank it all at once, and took out her phone and called Gloria.
After a few seconds, the phone was answered.
"Hello princess" Gloria said happily.
"How are you doing" she asked coldly as usual.
"Am good. They are taking really good care of me here, I won't lie" Gloria replied.
"Fine then good bye" she ended the call before she could say anything.
Scarlet just wanted to hear her mom's voice but was too proud to say she miss her mom. Of course, the devil never shows emotions or else it's triggered.
