Chapter 2439 Unreasonable Demands

Levi fell silent.

"Auntie, I shouldn't have told you. Just pretend you didn't hear it. Otherwise, Chance will be very sad."

Nicole forced a smile and patted his head.

"Okay, I didn't hear anything. But you should stay away from the Ferguson family's affairs in the future."

Levi pursed his lips and snorted.

"Chance is afraid of him, but I'm not. He won't dare to do anything to me!"

Clayton chuckled at the side and nodded in agreement.

"That's true. Our Levi is amazing and doesn't have to be scared of anyone. Also, not everyone is afraid of him."

Levi nodded.

Clayton patted his head. "Finish this. I'll treat you to dinner later. How about KFC?"

Nicole stared at him without speaking.

Levi said, "Daddy won't let me eat KFC."

"But I want to eat it, and I promised Chatty to buy some back for her. I can't just break my promise!"

Clayton helplessly shrugged and explained to Nicole.

Nicole rolled her eyes. "Who asked you to agree to these unreasonable demands?"

Clayton said weakly, "I promised to buy it for her if she got full marks on her homework. I didn't expect that she could really get a full score just for KFC!" Nicole was speechless. Finally, everyone finished eating and sent Levi home.

On the way, Levi was on the phone with Chance.

Chance should have recovered because he had the strength to speak.

Levi said a few words of comfort and did not discuss this matter because maintaining Chance's self-esteem was what he should do as a good friend. Half a month passed quietly.

Selena's bar had been running smoothly.

Even if there were occasional drunken disturbances, they were resolved quickly.

Nathaniel showed up from time to time as if he did not give up on Selena.

He was a little stunned when he saw Nicole, Clayton, and their friends partying at the bar.

lan and Clayton were standing shoulder to shoulder. They looked like brothers. However, Clayton looked back to keep an eye on Nicole from time to time.

On the other hand, Lumi waited for the carefree lan helplessly, but with affection.

Julie and Kai went to the dance floor and then went upstairs to the private room.

Selena, who was wiping a glass on the bar counter, watched the group of people heading upstairs.

She saw that Nathaniel was in a daze in front of her and smiled meaningfully.

"Nathaniel, what are you looking at? Do you know them?"

Nathaniel was taken aback for a moment and smiled.

"Yeah, I know them. But I won't go over and say hello. After all, I'm here for you, Ms. Nelson."

Selena casually put down the glass in her hand and picked up another glass.

Her movements were light but swift. She had a sly smile on her face as if she had discovered some secret. "Nathaniel, do I look like Nicole?"

Nathaniel froze. "What?"

Selena raised her eyebrows nonchalantly as if she would not be angry no matter what the answer was.

She did not deliberately have plastic surgery to look like Nicole.

Their resemblance was a coincidence. It was fate.

At this time, Selena seemed to understand the reason why

Nathaniel came here all the time.

No wonder!

Selena put her hands on the table and looked at him with a smile and a gaze that could see through his mind.

"I asked you, do I look like Nicole?"

Nathaniel hesitated and froze, as if he could not speak.

Selena smiled. "I don't know if you're unreconciled because of Nicole or because of the woman who remarried her ex-husband. But I think you should move on. Don't just jump at someone who looks similar to the woman in your heart. Do you think you're collecting stamps?"

Nathaniel was stunned for a moment.

Selena brushed her hair, smiled nonchalantly, and said, "I'm not your stamp, and I don't want to be anyone's second choice. I don't even like Eric, let alone you."

What she said hurt a little, but for him to give up coming over here repeatedly, it was better to just nip it in the bud. It was not until today when she saw Nicole that Selena had an epiphany.

Selena could see what was happening.

Nathaniel finally went upstairs to the private room where Nicole and the others were.

Then, he came down with them at the end.

Nathaniel drank a lot, so his driver took him away.

Selena waved goodbye to them as if nothing had happened and did

Not say anything.

However, since then, Nathaniel did not show up again.

He finally gave up.

There were fewer customers during the day, so Selena rolled up her sleeves and cleaned up the bar by herself.

Suddenly, an unexpected guest came.

Chance walked over cautiously and looked at her with a smile.

"Hello, Auntie."

Selena was stunned for a moment. "Chance, why are you here?" She looked back in surprise.

Mitchell or Eric did not follow him.

Chance carefully put down his school bag.

"We had a field trip today and got off half a day earlier. My driver couldn't come because of an emergency, so I took a taxi by myself. I wanted to come and see you so I can thank you for saving me at my birthday party."

Selena smiled and stroked his curly hair. She felt that he was so cute and pitiful.

She had a natural sympathy for Chance. The more she sympathized with Chance, the more she hated Eric.

Thus, she cursed Eric several times in her heart.

Finally, she enthusiastically let Chance in.

"You're welcome. I wasn't the one who saved you, so you're thankful to the wrong person."

To be precise, the one who saved Chance was also the one who harmed him, so it was better not to thank that person.

Chance shook his head solemnly and looked up at her with clear eyes.

"It's you. Daddy also told me about this matter. It's okay. I can swim, but the water in the pool was too cold that day, and I panicked for a moment. That's why I thrashed around."

Selena smiled speechlessly and shook her head.

"You're such a silly boy."

Chance was being taken advantage of, yet he could still smile gratefully.

Chance looked around.

"Auntie, can I help you?"

He rolled up his sleeves to help her.

Selena looked startled and quickly stopped him.

"No need. You can go and play. By the way, why don't you call your dad? He might get anxious if he can't replace you."

Chance was silent for a few seconds before he smiled.

"Nah, I'll go home when it's time."

Even if Chance went missing, he knew his father would not be worried.

Selena did not say anything and got busy.

Chance started to straighten the chairs, so Selena let him be since it would not hurt him.

Ferguson Corporation.

A group of people came out of the conference room.

It was a small project the Yeagers cooperated with Eric, but Cindy was not in this meeting.

The person who came to participate in the meeting was Larry Yeager, Cindy's father.
