Each step Ryan took sent a shiver through Carrie's body, a sensation that left her utterly dazed. Her hands gripped the man's back tightly, leaving red marks.

"Which one should we choose, hmm?"

Ryan held her in his arms, standing in front of the massive wardrobe. His wet, burning kisses grazed her flushed cheeks.

"Mm... They all look good..." Carrie leaned against his sweat-drenched chest, breathing lightly, her eyelids heavy.

"Can't decide? Let me help you, darling."

In the next second, Carrie suddenly felt a darkness before her eyes, and she let out a soft cry. Ryan carried her into the wardrobe filled with expensive dresses. The soft, silky fabrics enveloped them as they indulged in a wave of passionate intimacy.

"Ms. Salvador, your teddy bear."

The maid's words pulled Carrie back to reality. Her cheeks flushed, and she quickly turned her back, pressing her palms against her face in embarrassment.

"I won't need it tonight."

The maid looked worried. She knew the teddy bear was Carrie's source of comfort. Without it, she could not sleep.

Carrie bit her tender lips gently. "I'm going to meet guests with my father today. Bringing this along would be embarrassing."

Tonight, Mayor Solloway and his wife hosted a private cocktail party in their courtyard.

Considering the rumors still circulating about Carrie in Savrow, the guest list was limited to close friends and family of the Solloway family. It was essentially a small engagement ceremony for their son and the Salvador family's heiress.

Mayor Solloway and his wife moved elegantly among the guests with their impeccably dressed son, Jason, basking in the attention.

"Mayor Solloway, congratulations in advance," Alvin and Aaron Larson said, holding champagne glasses. He smiled warmly and said, "Jason is about to get engaged to the heiress of the Salvador family. I'll definitely attend the ceremony and give Jason a big gift."

Mayor Solloway clinked glasses with a wide grin. "Haha, you're Jason's godfather. You'll be the first one I invite!"

Jason also smiled and said, "Thank you, godfather."

Amid the lively courtyard, Carrie appeared, holding onto Gregory's arm.

She was still not used to such occasions. In the past, she had the support of Justin, Bella, and Ryan, which helped her stay calm.

Now, faced with the complex gazes directed at her, her heart began to race again.

"Chairman Salvador, Carrie!"

Jason's eyes lit up. He quickly put down his wine glass and strode towards them. "Welcome! Chairman Salvador and Carrie's presence brings honor to our humble abode!" en.swhovels

"Haha... Jason, you're too polite,"

Gregory said, smiling as he pattedet

his shoulder. "Just call me Uncle. After all, we'll be family soon"

"Yes, Uncle Gregory."

Jason quickly corrected himself, his burning gaze fixed on Carrie's pale face. She dared not lift her head or meet the gaze that made her so uncomfortable.

Mayor Solloway and his wife came

over to greet them as well. Mrs.

Solloway held Carrie's hand,

continuously praising her as if she

could not be more satisfied with her

future daughter-in-law.

However, Carrie stood there, feeling out of place, as if all the blood had drained from her body, leaving her cold all over.

Suddenly, the doors opened again.

Two noble and imposing figures entered the room with an overwhelming presence, impossible to ignore despite being only two people.

Carrie moved her gaze toward the man. The moment she recognized the man, her clear eyes rippled with emotion.
