As the other car blocked the police officer at the hospital, Dean was able to escape successfully.

The black car sped along the neon-lit roads of Savrow.

Ryan stared out the window with a dark gaze, his eyes empty and desolate. Under the shifting lights, his face was still handsome as usual, but it carried an indescribable sense of loneliness and sorrow, as if he had completely changed.

Dean stared at him deeply, trying to replace a shadow of the man he once knew, but there were no traces left.

He was completely broken.

"I didn't give an order. You shouldn't have done something extra." After a long silence, Ryan finally said, "We have many chances to kill Liam, but you chose the riskiest way."

"Sorry, Mr. Hoffman."

Dean lowered his head, clenching his fists tightly in resentment. "But... I want him dead so badly. It's a mercy to let him live for one more day on earth! Sorry... I know I've caused you trouble. I'm willing to take responsibility for it! If the police trace it to you, please give me up. I've gotten my revenge and have no regrets anymore. I'm willing to confess my crimes..."

Ryan closed his eyes and cut Dean's words off with a wave of his hand. "I didn't want you to do it because I'm worried you'd sacrifice yourself."

Dean's heart thumped, his eyes widening. "Mr. Hoffman..."

"You're all I have left."

Ryan's throat bobbed, pain spreading in his heart. "You were Yasmin's best friend when she was alive. If anything happened to you, I wouldn't be able to face Yasmin in the afterlife."

"Thank you..." Dean finally could not hold back anymore, tears of shame streaming down.

"Is he dead?"

"Yes. I watched him take his last breath. Rest assured, Mr. Hoffman. He died painfully. I won't let him have an easy death.”

Ryan's pale lips curled up. Inexplicable emotions burned his throat, and he did not speak for a long while.

"Today, the police station called me

saying that Old Master Logan's autopsy has been completed. You can start handling his funeral Dean said sorrowfully.

"Okay."

At this time, Ryan's phone vibrated. It was a call from his mother.

Ryan lowered his gaze and stared at the screen for a moment. He finally answered, despite having ignored countless of her calls.

"Ryan Hoffman! Are you still human? Do you have an ounce of humanity?!"

Claire screamed hysterically on the other end of the phone, scolding him.

"This is the result of your boundless pampering of that idiot girl from the Salvador family! Our family is destroyed! Your grandfather is dead, and your sister was gravely injured by you, coughing up blood every day. Are you happy now? Satisfied?!"

Listening to his mother's unrestrained curses, Ryan felt no emotion and even laughed.

"It's all because of that idiot!

Everything happened because

her. She is the source of all evinet

a

Sling demon, a curse sent to destroy the Hoffman family!" en.swhovels

Claire shouted madly, showing no signs of the demeanor of a prestigious lady.

"Even without your grandfather, I will never accept her! She will never marry you and become my daughter-in-law! Never! Over my dead body!"

"Are you done?" Ryan's voice was indifferent.

Claire was stunned by Ryan's calmness. All she could hear was her heavy breathing.

"It seems like everything that happened to our family recently has been a huge blow to you. Your mental state is quite unstable."

Ryan turned and calmly ordered, "Dean, contact the best hospital abroad known for treating mental illnesses and send Mrs. Hoffman over for proper treatment."
