The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge -
Chapter 1974
Chapter 1974
Fun?
Yvonne's originally pounding heart skipped a beat for some reason. Her body, wrapped in the heat of male hormones, gradually cooled down.
No matter who it was, whether Christopher or those powerful men she had to entertain, they all treated her as a plaything.
She was delusional to think that Drew would be different from those men. It turned out he was not.
Yvonne slightly held her breath, suppressing the pain in her heart. She smiled bitterly, her eyes glistening with a barely noticeable tear.
"Mr. Drew, you're in a good mood today. How do you want to play?" She spoke in a seductive voice.
However, Drew's teasing gaze immediately darkened. He grabbed her shoulders and pushed her against the tree trunk.
His dark and clear eyes were fixed on her. His gaze finally landed on her heaving chest, as if he wanted to see through her heart. "You look good in this."
His tone was still playful and unserious.
Yvonne's heart skipped a beat, her flushed face burning with embarrassment. She raised her hand, trying to take off the black trench coat.
"Wear it."
Drew pressed down on her hand holding the coat, pulling it tighter instead. "It's chilly. You'd catch a cold."
Yvonne felt the warmth radiating from the man's calloused palms. That real and reassuring sensation made her nose tingle.
When she blinked, a drop of tear rolled down her cheek.
Just as Yvonne wanted to wipe it away, the man suddenly pinched her chin, leaning down to gently kiss the tear away from her cheek.
Yvonne's eyes widened. She felt as if an electric current had spread throughout her veins.
Her fair and slender legs, hidden beneath the black trench coat, were about to give out. Her back slid down the tree trunk, but Drew grabbed her waist, holding her steady in time.
"Tell me. Why are you crying?" His hot breath brushed against her, and he rubbed her waist.
Yvonne panted lightly, her voice muffled and soft. "None of your business."
"Is it because I'm such a good person that you're moved to tears? Hmm?" Drew tilted his head, his breath growing heavier.
From a distance, their figures seemed to have merged into one. The scene was too intimate and suggestive.
They did nothing, but it felt like they did everything.
"You're not a good person!"
Yvonne suddenly pushed him away, running into the depths of the forest without looking back.
She fled, but Drew did not chase after her. She did not want him to either.
The moment the man kissed her tear away, her heart was filled with joy and fear.
She thought, 'Drew, don't treat me so well. You'll regret it... You'll definitely regret it!'
Drew stood still in place. After a while, he slowly turned around with a dark gaze, staring in another direction.
The forest was silent, and he was alone.
"When will you be willing to give me your heart?" He lifted his hands, rubbing his lips with his finger, which seemed to have the lingering warmth of the woman's tears. "I can't wait to close the net."
Ilis net would catch not only Christopher but also Yvonne.
In the evening, Yvonne returned to Pivotage. Taylor immediately led her to Christopher.
"Mr. Christopher, you wanted to meet me?"
Christopher stood on the balcony, teasing a colorful parrot trapped in a golden cage.
He remained silent, so she did not dare to speak, lowering her head and waiting.
"The day Carrie was kidnapped..."
Yvonne tensed immediately, alarm bells ringing in her heart.
"That woman called Yasmin, who worked for Ryan, found Carrie's location so quickly. Did you leak the news to her?"
Yvonne's expression remained calm, but her vision went black as if she were falling into an endless abyss. "That day, you and Jace went to intercept Ralph and Yasmin. You guys even fought."
Christopher's eyes narrowed, plucking a red feather from the parrot, causing the bird to flutter its wings violently in the cage in pain. "Jace is our boss's confidant, so I can trust him. I have no choice but to suspect you."
