The Divorced Heiress’s Revenge -
Chapter 1985
Chapter 1985
In early November, Savrow welcomed its first romantic snowfall of the year.
It was also Carrie's twenty-fourth birthday.
Early in the morning, Bella cheerfully led her "styling team" to the hospital to doll up her soon-to-be sister-in-law.
Although she called it a team, including herself, there were just three people on it, adding Roza and
Amelia.
Despite the small number, Roza's styling and Amelia's makeup skills were on par with celebrity styling
teams.
The girls bustled into the hospital room, only to replace Ryan sitting at the bedside with dark circles under his eyes, patiently feeding Carrie an oatmeal porridge.
Carrie's eyes lit up with joy when she saw her sister-in-law. Her eyes sparkled like a doe's. Unable to speak, she waved her frail hand warmly in greeting.
In the past two months, Carrie's once slim face had become slightly fuller under Ryan's care, with a faint blush replacing her usual pallor, making her look even sweeter.
Love truly was the best cosmetic for a woman.
Amelia even felt like her presence was unnecessary. Like her sister, Carrie was naturally beautiful without any embellishments. She looked as fresh and lovely as a rose in bloom.
"Bella, just wait a moment. I'll finish feeding Carrie first." Ryan apologized with a smile.
Bella quickly waved her hand, "There's no rush. Take your time. We've got plenty of it."
The man carefully skimmed the top layer of the porridge with the spoon, blowing on it repeatedly to make sure it was not too hot.
For the second spoonful, he added a bit of refreshing blueberries, concerned that the oatmeal porridge might be too bland.
His meticulous care made the three women feel like they were indulging in a feast of love, leaving them fully stuffed with sweetness.
Thankfully, they all had their own partners now. Otherwise, this scene would have been too much to bear. Roza's nose twitched as she sniffed the air. "Wow. Something smells good. What is it?"
"Oatmeal and honey?" Bella's sharper nose identified the dish immediately.
"Oh! That's my favorite!" Amelia's eyes sparkled, her stomach rumbling at the thought.
Ryan fed Carrie another spoonful before saying, "I made plenty. There's more in the thermal flask. If you haven't eaten, please help yourselves."
"You made it yourself?!" The three women were stunned.
Just then, Dean walked in with a beaming smile, carrying a complete set of high-end tailored suits for Ryan. He looked happier than if he were getting married himself.
"Chairman Hoffman personally cooked it fresh this morning. Chairman Hoffman also prepared some fruit to go with it. You should've seen it, Ms. Thompson! Our chairman's cooking skill has improved a lot!"
Ryan glanced lightly at Dean, who immediately closed his mouth but still wore an expression of admiration.
"You did all of this yourself?"
Bella's beautiful eyes widened in disbelief. "Wow, what time did you have to get up?"
"I just woke up a bit earlier than usual. This isn't the first time I've done this," Ryan replied, his eyes softening as he gently wiped Carrie's lips with a napkin.
Roza and Amelia were dumbfounded.
They had seen Ryan before, more than once. However, they could hardly believe that the man before them, who was so devoted and gentle, was the same proud and flamboyant young master of the Hoffman family.
Ryan had changed completely-his eyes, behavior, demeanor, everything! The only thing that remained unchanged was his unwavering love for Carrie.
Ryan's words resonated clearly with Carrie. Suddenly, a wave of emotion surged within her, and tears started to flow uncontrollably like strings of pearls.
The sudden outburst of emotion startled Roza and Amelia, who became flustered.
Only Bella felt the sorrow in her heart. She looked at Ryan with a complex expression.
"It's emotional incontinence." Ryan cradled his wife in his arms and gently rubbed the back of her head." But that's okay. I'll be with her, and she'll get better gradually."
Bella sighed softly.
How could Carrie ever fully recover? She faced a series of emotional blows, and she had shown immense strength by not breaking down mentally.
Bella thought she might not have been able to endure it if she were in Carrie's shoes.
After breakfast, Ryan left the room to give Bella and the girls the space to work their magic.
He went to another room to change into the suit Dean had brought.
