At this moment, a fierce inner conflict was raging in Bella's mind, with her angel and demon voices clashing.

'Bella, you've finally seen through that scoundrel, haven't you? He's just a scumbag who can't change his ways, a cheater who jumps from one woman to the next. You should give up on him already! Don't let yourself be fooled again!'

'Bella, don't give up on him! Justin only became like this because of his head injury. It's not that he doesn't want to see you. Stop overthinking!'

'Ugh! Stop making excuses for a scumbag! Even if he no longer loves Bella, he still has the memories from their time together. How could he just throw away all those unforgettable moments? Instead, he flaunts his new relationship with another woman as if none of it ever mattered!'

'What you're saying is completely unreasonable! With that logic, should people never be allowed to break up just because they once dated? Besides, what do memories even count for? Memories don't matter!'

Amidst the snowfall, Bella came to an abrupt halt, standing in the biting chill that cut through her thin frame and dried her tears. All other noise in her mind faded away, leaving only that one sentence, echoing endlessly. 'Memories don't matter...'

Right. To Justin, Bella was someone he buried in the past. He had moved on while she

remained pitifully stuck in place, endlessly drowning in their memories.

In a daze, Bella thought she heard someone calling her name. But her mind was blank, and her body felt frozen stiff, unable to move at all.

"Bella! Watch out!" Grant's voice yanked her out of the mire of sorrow.

Bella snapped back to reality, only to see a small truck hurtling toward her, its horn blaring frantically.

The driver leaned out of the window and screamed, "The brakes aren't working! Get out of the way!"

Bella's heart raced, but it felt like her feet were weighed down. She could not move in time! At that moment, Justin rushed to the scene. Seeing Bella in danger, his heart pounded as he instinctively sprinted toward her with all his might.

However, he was too far away. Even as he rushed forward using every ounce of strength, he was still too late.

Suddenly, he saw a figure dart ahead of him, embracing the frail woman tightly.

As the truck barreled toward her, a man suddenly rushed in and shielded Bella's body with his own, and the two of them tumbled into the snow together.

The truck then crashed violently into a nearby wall, its front end crumpled and damaged. Bella trembled as she opened her eyes, catching a faint, slightly bitter scent of medicine. What she saw was Grant's concerned face, his deep, calm eyes looking down at her with care. "Ms. Thompson... Are you alright?" Grant panted, his voice low and strained.

Bella stared at him in shock, then glanced at the wheelchair lying on the ground nearby. Her heart was in turmoil.

"I'm fine." Bella winced as she tried to push herself up, but the searing pain in her injured leg left her too weak to even stand.

"I'll take you to the hospital." Grant's face turned pale. He scooped Bella up in his arms and slowly walked out, trembling step by step.

"Mr. Salvador, put me down! I can manage on my own!" Bella squirmed in his embrace, but the man held her securely, showing no intention of letting go.

"Ms. Thompson, you don't have to pretend to be strong in front of me." Grant looked down at her, his gaze deep and steady. Though each step was a struggle, he did his best to appear at ease. "Don't worry about me; I still have enough strength to carry you."

Bella narrowed her eyes upon hearing this.

At that moment, Justin watched them leave, his lips parting as if he wanted to speak, but no words came. His heart raced uncontrollably.
