"Thank you for telling me such an important clue, Yvonne. If Grant really is the Boss, then staying away from him isn't the solution. Instead, I need to get closer to him. Only then can I uncover his true identity and expose his schemes!"

"No! You can't!" Yvonne's voice was filled with urgency. "The Boss is an extremely dangerous figure. Even Christopher said that after following him for so many years, he only

saw a fraction of his power. There might be an even bigger force behind him who is

supporting everything!

"And besides, Justin can no longer protect you like he used to. If Grant harbors any ill intentions toward you and takes advantage of the situation, it will be even harder for you and Justin to mend things!"

Bella froze at her words, the pain in her heart swelling like waves crashing against the shore.

"Bella... I know you have a strong sense of justice. You're a hero among women, braver than most men. But you're not invincible. You can't solve everything alone. You need protection too! I'm just an ordinary person. I don't care about grand ideals... I just want the people I love, my friends, to be safe and happy. That's all, Bella... Sometimes in life, it's okay to be selfish."

"I've always protected myself in the past," Bella said, forcing out words she didn't truly believe. She tilted her head slightly to prevent the tears in her eyes from spilling over. "I've just returned to where I started, giving back to someone who never belonged to me. There's nothing to be afraid of. I'll get used to it."

She paused and continued with a slight tremor in her voice, "Besides, if Grant really is the Boss, then it's better that Justin stays away from me. I don't want him to fall into danger because of me again."

Yvonne let out a sigh of helpless sympathy.

Suddenly Bella's heart tightened as a thought struck her. "Yvonne, from now on, you should stay in Hatchbay. Don't show up in Savrow unless absolutely necessary. I'll tell Drew to make sure you are well-guarded. If Grant is indeed the Boss, he might recognize you, and he won't hesitate to harm you."

"The Boss only saw me before my surgery, and we barely met. He shouldn't know who I am," Yvonne said, trying to reassure her.

"Better safe than sorry," Bella replied firmly. "It's always better to be cautious!"

Justin quickly made his way to the parking lot. As soon as he got into his car, a wave of coldness swept over him, and a splitting headache tore through his skull.

He bent over, trembling, his forehead hitting the steering wheel repeatedly, but the pain

could not subside.

The reason he had rushed away from Bella earlier was that he had reached his limit of restraint.

He feared that if he stayed a moment longer, he would lose control in front of her— becoming a monster incapable of restraint.

Just then, his phone buzzed in his sweaty palm. Ian was calling.

Justin panted as though drowning, the world around him spinning into darkness, his vision blurring. 'Was it because of Bella? Because of that kiss?'

The overwhelming pain was close to shattering his iron will.

Unable to endure it any longer, his trembling hand reached into his jacket and pulled out a packet of blue pills.

These were the very pills Clarice had given him in his office that day. He had thrown them in the trash right in front of Ian, but he secretly kept one packet when no one was looking.

Now, crushed by relentless pain, his resolve broke. Closing his eyes tightly, he swallowed all the pills in one go.

Moments passed, and clarity returned to his mind. The headache subsided, the cold dissipated, and he felt more alert than before.

He had just sealed his first deal with the devil.
