My name is Aurora Heartsong. My family has been the Beta family for the Sacred Moon Pack for hundreds of years. My brother, Caleb, is returning with our soon-to-be Alpha Anderson Kane today. They have been away at the Alpha Academy for two years, training to become the best leaders our pack can have. Anderson has been my twin sister’s boyfriend for three years, now. Amelia hasn’t found her mate.. and, as far as we know neither has Anderson. He has decided to take her as his chosen. The ascension ceremony is scheduled for tonight and my parents and I have been busy all day, setting everything up. Amelia can’t be bothered to help.. I was informed that she is the next Luna.. as such, it is my duty to accommodate her, in all things. Yeah! I got her Duty! But, since Caleb is ascending, I don’t mind the work. Amelia is the golden child, and as much as I love my twin.. I can’t.. I just can’t even.. with her self-entitled, shallow attitude. I’m the studious one.. she’s the cheerleader. I’m responsible.. she’s frivolous. I’m helpful.. she’s helpless. We are opposites, in every way. Our eighteenth birthday, we had a wonderful party. Everyone wore pink.. and danced to pop rock boy bands.. We had a rainbow confetti vanilla cake.. and all was right with the world. Except I hate pink.. and never listen to boy bands.. I prefer chocolate.. not bland vanilla.
