The Ex-Wife Strikes Back By Queena Laurie -
Chapter 61
Chapter 61
Aurelia sensed a tight grip around her waist as soon as he finished speaking.
When everything was over, Jacob couldn’t help but come to a realization,
In comparison to her other qualities, her striking beauty appeared to be the least noteworthy.
“It’s no surprise that even Hayden, who is emotionally reserved, couldn’t resist her charms. Today, I’m grateful that I took advantage of the opportunity and made the correct decision. Otherwise, I would have missed out on such an extraordinarily beautiful woman, which would have been truly regrettable with no mom for remorse,” Jacob reflected inwardly.
Jacob realized that he was unlikely to let go of Aurelia after that afternoon. Such a valuable gem cannot be left unclaimed. He desired to make her his sole possession and cherish her. It would be too late for him to change his mind if others were able to recognize her worth!
Meanwhile, Aurelia felt that the situation had gotten out of hand that day. Jacob was far too dominant and didn’t even give her the opportunity to resist. His obsessive–compulsive disorder was significantly worse than Hayden’s.
When she was with Hayden, she still had some control over him. With Jacob, however, it appeared that her opinions were no longer valued. He completely ignored her thoughts and acted entirely of his own volition.
Jacob was astute enough not to give her such a chance.
At that moment, Aurelia experienced physical discomfort and a need for a shower, as well as emotional unease.
Suddenly, a large hand tightly grips her waist, immobilizing her and making it impossible for her to move, let alone get up.
“Mr. Miller, I need to go to the bathroom!”
“Stay a little longer. I’ll accompany you.”
“Mr. Miller…”
Despite her best efforts to mask it, Aurelia was actually feeling a little upset, and Jacob was able to perceive her subtle dissatisfaction.
Immediately, he agilely shifted his body and looked at her condescendingly, his hand supporting his weight on the edge of the pillow, not resting on Aurelia. His gaze became deep and intense as the corner of his lips lifted. “What’s the matter? Are you angry?”
Although he didn’t have a particularly pleasant expression, Aurelia could tell from his tone that he was actually happy.
It was obvious that he had a twisted sense of humor that was out of the ordinary.
He seemed pleased by the fact that she was unhappy.
Or perhaps he intended to deliberately make her unhappy, and his actions may have been designed to undermine or challenge her.
It was as if he was telling her not to think that she could take advantage of him just because he seemed pleased with her in some ways.
If he desired, he could use his position to quickly bring her back to reality and teach her a lesson.
He wanted her to understand that, in the eyes of people like him, she could mean absolutely nothing.
Aurelia was well aware of Jacob’s warning, signaled by his gaze and demeanor.
A shiver ran down her spine, and her heart skipped a beat.
Then, he burst out laughing, completely erasing the seriousness he had just demonstrated. The previous scene appeared to be a playful act put on for her, and in reality, he had been in a good mood all along.
