The Ex-Wife Strikes Back By Queena Laurie -
Chapter 64
Chapter 64
Even if Aurelia had the possibility, she didn’t want such a political marriage.
She wanted a warm family that she could be happy with. A family that she could feel relaxed and loved by.
There was no way they could be an official or a scion as the husband and wife in such a family. Two arrogant people cannot live together forever, no matter how well they get along.
One of them had to be gentle and tolerant, as Aurelia asked herself after rebirth. She was no longer the worthless and weak woman of her previous life.
As a result, she could choose not to love. If she fell in love with someone, he should be able to convince her that they could live together, and he should not be someone like Jacob or Hayden. It could only be someone like Scott.
She had thought about this a thousand times.
Aurelia had no choice but to refuse Jacob’s affection for her, and she had to do so without hesitation or mercy.
“Mr. Miller, you’re wrong! It’s not that I’m asking too much, but everyone has such a need in their life. Some people could give up hope for their family for other pursuits, but I’m different. I learned a very memorable lesson from my failure. If you like my body, we can be mutual comfort partners, but it would only be physical.”
Aurelia continued, “I’m not asking you to do anything for me. You can assume we’re just like those lonely strangers in the county, parting ways when the dawn comes without asking for names after relieving each other’s loneliness in the night. There are hidden pasts and emotions in our hearts that wish to be unknown. I won’t care about you for that, and you should stop asking me for more. In this way, I will accept it more willingly!”
Jacob was taken aback by her confession. “Do you mean we treat each other as one–night stand partners, seeking only desire and not each other’s identity?”
Aurelia nodded. “If you will do so, you can think of it like that.”
Jacob asked, “Don’t you want to create some convenience for yourself through the relationship with me or maybe give Michael a brighter future again?”
Jacob felt suspicious of Aurelia’s actions. He could not figure out why she gave up everything he gave her. She didn’t want the good opportunities he could provide her. Instead, Aurelia insisted on being with him as partners who would only fulfill each
other’s desires.
Jacob wondered if the so–called spiritual freedom was really that important.
He thought, “Is that freedom worthwhile for a practical woman like her to give up everything I can give her?”
“If I want money, there are many ways to get it; there is no need to take shortcuts through men to get money!” Aurelia responded, “As for Michael, I will naturally spare no effort to create the conditions for him; I will not use up my effort to think that much for other things.”
Aurelia’s words were casual, but Jacob’s eyes darkened even more. “Aurelia, you’re quite a big talker. Earning money is an easy thing to do in your eyes. I’m a little curious. Where did you get your confidence from?” he sneered.
Aurelia smiled faintly instead. “Does that mean you agree with my proposal?”
“Who said I agreed? Why should I agree?” “Do you think I, Jacob Miller, am short on one–night stand partners? If this news spreads, will I still have the confidence to face others in the future?”
Aurelia’s heart sank when Jacob flatly rejected her. “Is he going to force me to agree even if I don’t want to?” she wondered.
“Aurelia, aside from me, do you also maintain what you call a comforting each other relationship with other men now?” Jacob asked.
Aurelia didn’t know what Jacob wanted to do, but she shook her head truthfully.
Jacob asked again, “Does that mean you are single now?”

Aurelia nodded.
“Then why do you bring this freedom nonsense up with me?” Jacob asked. Since you don’t want my love and benefits, how about becoming my woman before you replace the man who can give you freedom, love, and a family all at once?”
He added, “I don’t think there is any contradiction. Perhaps I lost interest in you before you waited for the person you wanted. to see. You will have no worries here. “What do you think?”
Aurelia thought, “This…”
Aurelia paused and looked at Jacob with suspicion. She couldn’t believe the foremost childe in Nuthana would make such a derogatory proposal.
It sounded right, but Aurelia had to know that this man was Jacob. It would always be him, with the women serving as backup. He wouldn’t let women think of him as a backup for spending time with.
It was pointless to discuss the moment Aurelia found her ideal partner. Even just imagining Aurelia abandoning Jacob alone would be impossible.
When the title “Jacob’s Woman” was tattooed on her like a label, Aurelia knew no good man would dare to approach her.
“It appears Jacob has planned a twisted way to cut off my retreat plan.”
Aurelia paused for a moment before realizing there was no turning back.
If Aurelia refused again, it would no longer be her right to pursue her own life, no matter what Jacob had planned in his mind, and since he had generously put forward such an aggrieved suggestion. It would be an act of Aurelia looking down on Jacob and continuing to oppose him.
She had been drawn into Jacob’s scheme from the start. She found it amusing that despite being older than Jacob and having a second chance at life, she would still fall into the man’s trap. Even if she couldn’t beat him in a mind game, she didn’t think she was being too passive.
She underestimated Jacob. The man appeared to be more difficult to deal with than Hayden.
Hayden was the heir to a wealthy political family, but he wasn’t as brazen as Jacob. Hayden placed a high value on his pride.
Jacob was different. He was cunning while remaining calm, especially when he frequently demonstrated his loyalty by pretending to be weak, which could be passed off as genuine without others suspecting his acting.
People found it difficult to defend against him because he was young. Or maybe they always assumed he was young and didn’t have as many tricks up his sleeve. They lowered their guard slightly but had already fallen into his trap.
Aurelia felt helpless.
