The Failed Rejection -
Chapter 70
Killian pov
Kai was tearing the armored trucks apart with his razor sharp claws and pulling the drivers out before jumping into the truck and tearing into the rest of the occupants. Some Kai would tear up on the spot and others he would fling up and out of the hole Kai created. Alpha Kane was on the ground next to him waiting to tear their hearts out as the men landed on the ground. The two black alphas truly made a terrifying sight to any opponent observing what was occurring.
Kai was in the middle of moving to a different truck five hundred yards away when he heard it. A g*n shot rang out in the air and was headed center mass for him. Kai quickly jumped out of the way, but the bullet still grazed his shoulder. Killian felt his wolf’s flesh sizzle and some silver went into his b***d stream weakening him slightly. Kai landed in a heap but managed a quick recovery before the bullets that were still trying to hit him could land a direct hit and do irreparable harm.
He ran in a zig zag pattern to avoid anymore hits, but his wolf felt the burning pain in his shoulder but managed to push through though Kai was slowed down by injury. His giant wolf ran into the next armored truck giving it a massive shake, Kai couldn’t make the jump. This time Alpha Kane came flying out of nowhere and landed on top of the truck and started tearing into the truck. Kane wasn’t as strong as Kai so it was taking longer and Kai was vulnerable. A bullet whizzed by his head and Killian knew he had to move. Kai ran on the opposite side to where the men were located, getting cover and laying down cover fire for the men in the tank. Kai had to draw attention away from Kane otherwise he was one dead alpha.
Killian made a quick pass exposing his left flank and the fire was drawn on him as Kai was the stronger alpha and the bigger threat. The bullets just missed him, just grazing the fur of his tail. s**t! He was able to get to cover as Kane managed to get into the truck.
Killian was mostly healed and the silver was mostly out of his system by now so he was able to get back into the fight at full strength tearing into these trucks that kept coming in from everywhere.
Killian was tearing apart another truck when more rumbled onto the scene loaded with some fancy RPG’s and immediately located and took out one of the nests. Killian immediately felt the loss of two of his pack members and Kai whimpered at the loss of his loyal men. The loss weakened his wolf slightly as he was tied to all of his members.
The ground rocked from the explosion and for the first time Killian felt a flicker of doubt that they wouldn’t succeed. His conviction was strong that the werewolf council was morally wrong and needed to be stopped, but looking around at the littered bodies he didn’t know if he was strong enough to end the council. Kai didn’t like hearing his humans doubt.
“To the death,” he growled ferociously in his mind. “For our pups!”
Kai quickly recovered from the explosion and let out a ferocious growl that rocked the earth as much as any explosion. It didn’t matter how he felt, he had to fight with everything in him. His growl caused the attention to be shifted toward him just like Killian wanted. He was also thankful for the pouncing lessons from Nathan. Kai sat in a crouch until the shot was fired and sprung up and away. Killian dodged to the right as he was hit in his left shoulder. He was still not a hundred percent like he thought and not as powerful so he caught some of the debris in his paws and legs. He was lucky as there was no silver or aconite in the blast and he started healing right away. He was still on a lot of pain. One leg was broken and Kai had to limp away and pray to the moons goddess that he didn’t get hit again by another RPG. He wasn’t that lucky as he heard,
“Reload! Reload!” Kai was able to move faster as his broken leg was quickly healing, but his paws were still a mess of exposed flesh. The pain was excruciating, but he couldn’t do anything about it. He wasn’t able to run, let alone walk. Killian was limping as quickly as possible when he heard it. Out of nowhere two alphas came tearing into clearing followed by a werebear that Killian would recognize anywhere. He never felt more relieved as he saw Axel tearing through the clearing with two werebears right behind him. One was clearly Wyatt but Killian didn’t recognize the other bear though it was powerful. Killian fell down in a heap as his wolf couldn’t hold himself up any longer.
The councils warriors tried to turn their focus on the werebears but were unable to do it in time and the armored truck was quickly taken over by the massive bears. Kai’s paws were starting to recover and he watched as more trucks continued to roll on scene.
Damn! This was becoming more and more chaotic and Killian needed to figure out what the next solution was. He picked himself up wincing from the pain and looked for Brad, he was a better strategist than he was. Their current plan was not working as well as they hoped. Killian heard screams and turned to look. The councils warriors managed to take out another nest. The nest was located behind a boulder and it seemed that the boulder exploded sending shards of rock into the men. Killian went to help them, but quickly saw some one else tending them and giving first aid and one of those men was Wyatt.
“Have you seen Brad?” Killian linked Wyatt.
“No alpha,” Wyatt only paused briefly before lifting another warrior Killian couldn’t identify as his face was covered with b***d.
“Find him when you are done tending the men, I need him,” Killian ordered and returned to the battle.
“Yes Alpha,”
Killian heard a faint singing, something that he was barely able to pick up even with his wolf’s ears. The sound of gunshots, screams, and orders rang out all around him, but he heard this singing.
“Come to me, hear my call,” a females voice came calling to him and it made him want to follow the sound.
“Sirens nearby,” Kai informed him as he was tearing into another wolf. The warriors finally gave up using their weapons and transformed into their wolves. Killian heard the haunting call and had the desire to follow but shook it off.
“Why can I fight the song if they are sirens?” Killian asked his wolf as he tore into a warrior who was following the sirens call.
“You are a mated alpha dummy,” Kai responded. Killian was shocked but he watched one of his men abandoned his spot in the nest.
“Seth we have sirens on the field, what’s going on? We need to replace the threat and eliminate them,” Killian said through the mindlink as he was quickly scanning the area looking for the culprit. Killian felt Seth open the mindlink, but it was silent.
“Seth what is going on?” Fearing the answer his beta was going to give him.
“It’s my mates family, they are helping us,” Seth responded clearly hesitant about how he would respond. Killian looked around at the battlefield. The sirens made it easier to kill the wolf’s as they were now just lambs for s*******r. This was a double edge sword as all of his men except the alphas also fell under the spell of the sirens. Killian looked at all the weaponry that was laying down abandoned by the councils’ men and made a quick decision. One he hoped he wouldn’t regret.
“Fine keep it up,” Killian degreed as all the alphas seemed to be immune. “Our men are effected as well, keep an eye on them.”
“Yes alpha.”
Killian and the other alpha were able to quickly tear through any remaining resistant council warriors.
…
“They surrendered!” Brad shouted as Killian was fighting with another strong wolf who was also immune. Killian turned to see his Delta come running with a phone, Killian turned back up see the wolf had ran off after hearing the word ‘surrender.’ Killian quickly shifted back to his human form and Brad handed him some clothes. Killian didn’t question why Brad wasn’t susceptible to the siren song he just asked one question.
“Who called you?”
“Elder Brooks she got a call from the Elders who are locked up in their bunker,” Brad stated.
“Of course they have a bunker, like Hitler.”
“stop shooting, but keep them under the spell of the siren song,” Killian told his beta in the mindlink.
“They are getting weak,” Brad responded.
“s**t! It’s time for the next phase,” Killian stated and Brad pulled out his silver cuffs from the duffle bag he had been carrying. Once the opposing force surrenders, one has to stop fighting and take them as prisoners of war. The trials were going to be a nightmare.
It took twenty minutes to round up all the elite soldiers and cuff them in silver. There was around two hundred men left and there wasn’t enough cuffs left.
“s**t, what do we do now?” Killian asked frustrated.
“Dungeons are our only choice,” Brad stated.
“I need to get to the Elders,” Killian stated.
“They are not far apart,” Elder Brooks stated surprising them all with her presence. “Brad you, alpha Axel, and Alpha Kane here will go escort the elite warriors down to the dungeons,” Elder Brooks stated causing everyone to bow to her except for him. “While I’ll show Alpha Killian the bunker.”
Elder Brooks
Helen walked down the walkways to the bunker where the snakes were hiding with Alpha Killian. She had been playing the long game and it was finally paying off.
No one knows this but she was over. two hundred years old and the granddaughter of the last werewolf king. While most think Helen was four or five generations removed, this is not the case. She remembers him vividly even if it was only for the first few years of her life, the memories she has with him are wonderful. Until the war.
The war was the worst thing that happened to the werewolf community and her grandfather prophesied the next coming king. Octavius predicted that the next king would do what he never could achieve. The next king will units all supernatural creatures, and while most think it’s only a bedtime story to tell children, Helen always believed. That was the only thing that gave her grandfather comfort as his kingdom was being torn apart by war, he knew something was better for them on the horizon.
Her father started the werewolf council after grandfather had passed and was the first leader that ran the council for over one hundred years. Until the day Elder Thomas and Henry killed him. There was a cover up about a rogue attack, but Helen knew the truth. The council wanted her father gone and they had him eliminated. Her father was the strongest Alpha alive. Helen took her rightful place as his successor, but the bastards gave her no real power. Or so they believed. When her father died he revealed that the Midnight Howlers pack would be key of the return of the king.
So Helen waited and watched as the council was corrupted beyond recognition.
Helen was able to acquire a small following of warriors. That’s how Brad was able to become an Elite warrior. She was able to see into the heart of a person and read their intentions.
That’s how she knew Alpha Killian was the right man for this job. When she first felt the young alpha’s aura it almost knocked her on her a*s. Helen was beyond shocked to see that the power was not his but his sons, the true kings. Her wolf briefly spoke to Kota and from what Farrah understood as long as Killian is deserving and worthy of the gift of the first wolves power Killian will receive it until Callum turns of age and ascends the thrown. Helen was skeptical as she knew first hand how power went to men’s heads. This male seemed to be different.
“You ready?” Killian asked her and she nodded.
“Young Alpha I’ve been ready for this day for over one hundred years,” she responded as they approached the panic room door. The door opened and Helen couldn’t resist a smile as and she decided to let her fill aura out. The Elders were on the floor begging for mercy before the door fully opened.
“Let the trials begin! To the dungeon!” Helen boomed out.
