The Falcon Ridge Series Book 2 Not Just A Girl -
Chapter 40 The Blue Moon
(Chapter song ‘I Won’t Give Up' by Jason Mraz)
JAYSON
I'm going out of my fucking mind.
Day after day, I stew in my office. Since Luke, got back, I feel my emotions boiling inside me and it’s only getting worse. My wolf has been insufferable. He doesn’t care anymore. He keeps trying to get out and tear the woods apart, but if I have nowhere to look, it’s pointless. Of course, it doesn't help the fucking moon is tonight. His whining for it, tells me that he knows what Sarah is.
I was going to have the best time with her. I was going to dance with her, kiss her, make mad, passionate love to her and mark her. I was going to make her mine forever. Now, I don't know if I'll ever see her alive again.
I pound back a shot of whiskey as a knock raps at my door. I sit back in my desk chair, lean on the arm and rub my aching head.
"Come." I bark.
The door opens and my head aches more.
“Hello, son.”
My fathers been back for a week now, and I’ve been avoiding him like the plague. Knowing what he did to me has pissed me off so much, I’m afraid of what I’ll say or do to him.
He's cornered me now, I won’t be merciful.
My eyes narrow and my arm drops. "What do you want?"
"Son." He walks in.
"Don't fucking son me! You sold us out!" I lash out as I pour another glass and pound it back.
I stand and round my desk as I take big steps to him. “If you weren’t such a fucking coward, my Sarah wouldn’t be out there right now fighting for her life!” I thump a finger in my chest then point to the room as I glare at him.
He shakes his head and holds his hand up at me. "I had no choice, Jayson. The council twisted my arm. Damian has their ear. I was out voted.”
"No! You had a fucking choice! You're just too fucking weak to stand up to them!" I yell.
"We can't fight them, Jayson! When are you going to realize that?!" He yells back. I feel his anger match mine. He’s just as pissed off as I am, but I won’t let him off.
He rubs his nape. “You don’t understand. This council…” He raises his eyes to me. “If they want something, they will get it.”
"Oh, I'm fighting them. They will pry this pack from my cold dead hands before I even think of giving in." I snarl. "And your little agreement means shit to me. If you aren't going to run this pack and give our people the Alpha they deserve, then I will. I will take it from you if I have to." I threaten as I point to his face.
“I'll call a damn Alpha challenge if that’s what you want, dad. I’m not afraid of you. I love you, but I won’t sit and watch our town fall into the hands of Damian Blake or River. I won’t.” My wolf pushes on me and I feel his power rise.
He shoves his hands in his pockets and lowers his head. "You think you can be the Alpha and save Black Lake?"
"I will die trying." I grit.
He bites his lip as he raises his eye to me and nods. "Where's the title file?"
I was thrown off by his question. My brows cinch and I tilt my head. “It’s in your office. Why?”
"Come with me." He turns and walks to the door.
I follow him to his office. He walks to his file cabinet, searches through it and pulls out a blue file. The Blue file every Alpha Son is given when the pack is handed down. He tosses it across his desk to me and my eyes soften as I look to it then back up at him.
He motions to it. "Sign it."
"What?" I question.
"I'm given you the pack. You're their Alpha now. I'll announce it to them when this is over, but now, the minute you sign that, the pack and everything that comes with it is yours." He grabs a pen and lays it on the blue cover then sits down.
I fold my arms. I need to make this clear. "Including your council spot?"
He nods. "Including the council. I'll announce my retirement at the next meeting. It’s about time. The things I've had to do…" He turns to the window and drifts off.
“Dad? What things?” I look at him curiously.
He turns back and smiles. “Nothing. It doesn’t matter. Sigh it.” He points to the pen.
I walk to his desk and plant a finger on the file. "So, the minute I sign this, I can take that fucking agreement and tear it up in Blake's face. Is that what you're saying?" I arch a brow.
He ticks his head as he laces his fingers on the desk. "It may be a little more complicated than that, but effectively, yes."
My lips turn into an evil smirk. "Give me that pen."
I sign all the documents and hand my father the file back.
He stands and walks around his desk. He holds a hand out and I shake it. He pulls me into a hug. "Congratulations, son. I know the pack has a proper Alpha now."
I push him back. I kind of feel guilty unleashing my shit on him like that. I know how bad River’s dad can be. I shouldn’t really blame him for caving. Once I’m on the council, Damian Blake’s influence will be quashed that’s for damn sure.
I look down and stuff my hands in my pockets. "Uh… Dad. Look... I was probably a little harsh back there..."
"Son, you're stressed and this moon is driving all us a little crazy." He chuckles. "Your mother gets so crazy, I wish I could climb a mountain and shut it off."
My jaw drops as my mind is slammed with his words. "What did you just say?" I mumble.
He tilts his head in confusion. "What? Your mother drives me crazy."
"No. After that..." I grab his arms and stare into his eyes.
"I wish I could climb a mountain and turn it off." He almost looks scared.
I push off him and slam my hand into forehead. "Ugh!!" I grab his arms and kiss his cheek. I point to his nose and a huge smile crosses my face. "You're a genius! I love you so much, right now!” I kiss his cheek again then run to his desk. I grab a map and head for the door.
I throw up the map as I leave. “A goddamn genius! Wren! Luke!"
As I run out his office, I hear him shout. "What did I say?!"
"Kale! Where are you guys?" I run into the common room.
"Dining hall!" I hear Luke call out.
I rush in and they’re all seated at a table with a bunch of food in front of them. I stride to the table and start clearing plates off the table.
"Hey, what the fuck?"
"Jayson, what are you..."
"Come on, man!"
"All of you. Shut up." I slam the map down on the table and open it. I look around them smiling. "I know where to replace Sarah."
Their eyes bug out as they stare at me.
“Where?!” Wren asks.
"Before the fight, we made an arrangement. If we ever got separated, we couldn't come back home because it might be too dangerous." I swallow. "So, I told her to go here." I point to a spot on the map.
Luke looks where I'm pointing. "Silver Hill?"
"Silver hill." I grin. "Where did you lose her?"
Luke studies the map. "Here." He indicates an area forest.
"Ok. If she travels the same direction, she should come out here. Highway 82. That takes you right into Morgan and straight to Silver Hill." I slap the map, stand with my arms crossed and smile.
Wren looks at the map. "If that's where she's headed, she could be there already. Jayson, you need to go."
I pull out my keys. "I'm already gone." I run out of the dining hall, jump over the couches of the common room and out the door.
I jump into my Challenger, rev the engine, peel it out in reverse and slam on the gas in drive. I can't book it through town to the highway fast enough.
"I'm coming baby. Please wait for me." I grip the steering wheel and glance at the full, deep blue moon.
I shake it off. I don't even care. I'm going to get my baby back, hold her and tell her I love her no matter what that damn thing says.
Not this time. This time, the girl is mine whether it wants it or not.

SARAH
He's not coming.
My heart breaks and fear takes over as I lean against a rock with my knees pulled up. With my head resting on my arms. I gaze out to the sleepy town of Morgan from the look out point on Silver Hill. The lights of the town are surrounded by a star covered night sky and the prettiest blue moon I've ever seen.
I've been here for three days. I know Jayson told me to leave, but I can't bring myself to do it. I don't have anywhere to go anyway. My world is gone and I have nothing left.
I fantasized about seeing him and it was crushed when I saw the lookout empty.
My feelings grow. I think I love him even more, right now. I feel this intense pressure in my chest like I can actually feel my heart breaking because I gave my hopes up.
I bury my face into my arms. I can almost hear his voice calling out to me. I can hear him tell me everything is alright and we can go home, but it’s not real. It’s never real.
I softly cry. My emotions are so intense, I almost can’t contain them.
I raise my head looking out at the moon and all of a sudden, I can't breathe. The air is suffocating. I feel snap on my heart and it’s like I'm being pulled by a rope or an elastic band. I turn my head to the direction the invisible rope is coming from and watch the path.
Something’s coming.

JAYSON
My tires squeal as I slam the brakes at the park entrance. Silver Hill is a national park and closed at night, but closed doors never stopped Sarah.
I undress, shift and shake out my fur. My wolf huffs and shakes his head as he starts to trot around the gate and into the park.
‘Please be here.’ I think as I reach the base of the hill.
I just reach half way when I notice everything turns a brilliant blue. I look to the sky between the trees and the moon hits its peak. It seems to glow much brighter out here. I've only really seen it under the cover of dance lights. It’s absolutely beautiful.
My turns his head up the path and sniffs. There’s something on the breeze.
The moons light surrounds me as my wolf starts the climb. My emotions were heightened before, but this is intense. My heart is pounding and feel an electric heat fill me. The air is thick and I feel something call to me. I've never felt anything like this.
My wolf climbs faster. Whatever it is, it's up there and he needs to get to it now. It's a pretty steep climb, but he doesn't care. He’s navigating the hill with ease, but barely paying attention to his steps.
I feel him whimper as he starts to make small jumps up the hill.
He lets out a whine and I smile in my mind. ‘Go get it , buddy.’
As I near the crest, I can barely breathe. My fur tingles all over and my wolf starts to pant in the heat. The wind blows passed my ears and I hear a tiny shuffle in the dirt up ahead.
My nose sniffs and my wolf whines even more.
‘I smell it, too.’
I shift as I feel whatever’s pulling me get stronger. It starts to snap from me to the lookout. My eyes sting and confusion grows in my eyes. I don’t know what to make of any of this.
My bare feet step slowly and quietly down the path. I reach out and push a branch out of my way and my lip starts to tremble.
I huff a breath as tears well in my eyes. I take a staggered breath of relief as my eyes replace what I’ve been missing for so long.
She remembered. My baby is here.
I sniff as I step into the lookout. Sarah’s filthy, tired and beaten down, but damn, I forgot how effortlessly beautiful she was and under this moon I can barely stand how much more stunning she is.
"Mate." I whisper.
Her head whips to me and she grins, but then starts to cry. "Jayson!" She scrambles to her feet and runs at me.
“Sarah!” I rush her, take her in my arms and lift her off the ground. She wraps her arms and legs around me and I hold the back of her head. I kiss her like I hadn’t eaten in a year.
As our lips dance and the moon washes over us, I didn’t care about her being lost. I didn’t care about the danger she put herself in. All I cared about was she was back in my arms and this bond snapping between us. It connected out hearts and I was drowning in it.
I cup her cheek. "I love you so much. I can't believe it. You're here. I knew you'd be here and you're mine. Mine forever." I'm babbling on her lips as we both cry. I hold her head to my shoulder and squeeze her tight.
"I was so scared.” She sobs in my neck. “I thought I never see you again. I love you. I won’t leave again, I promise.
I pull her head back and brush her hair out of her face. "No. You're never leaving me and I'm not leaving you, either. I’m home, baby. I’m with you forever."
She stares at me with her big, glowing blue eyes. "I'm yours.” She whispers and tries to smile through her tears.
"I'm yours." I smile back and wipe her cheeks. I gently kiss her and deepen it. I thought I'd never touch these lips again, feel her arms around me or get drunk off her scent again. I was terrified I'd never hear her sweet voice again.
I kiss her like it’s the last thing I’ll ever do as I hold her and slowly drop to my knees.
The moons magic is so strong, my feelings for this woman take over and I feel it. I need her right here. I need to mark her right now.
Her arousal surrounds us and my dick is stone. I'm not wasting any time.
With her soft thighs straddling my legs, I reach between us, grab my throbbing manhood and line up with her entrance. I push it in her wetness, grabbing her ass and pushing it down to go deeper.
"Jayson." She rolls her head back.
She moans as I run my tongue and lips up her long soft neck. I grab the back of her neck and thrust my dick deep inside her. I meet her lips again, kissing her as I slowly pull out and push in again.
"Yes." She buries her head in my neck, kissing and licking it as I speed up.
I groan at the feel of her soft, electric lips on my skin.
"God yes, Jayson..." Her blonde hair drapes over my shoulders as I hold her neck and her ass and penetrate her harder.
“Jayson... Don't stop..."
I pump her harder, squeezing her ass cheek and help her ride me.
Her pussy gets tighter with every thrust. "Yes, baby, come for me." I stare into her desire filled eyes as I softly bite her chin and lip.
I tighten my grip on her neck and buck my hips into her pussy as she throws her head back and screams.
Her orgasm crashes and her pussys hot juices coat my balls. Her walls choke my dick. "Yes, Sarah… So good, baby..." I grit as I feel my own climax build.
I pull her back and look into her eyes. I sweep her hair off her shoulder and run my tongue across the soft spot on her neck that will hold my mark. The mark of my Luna.
I pull my head back and smirk. "One more, baby." I reach down, replace her clit and rub her pussy hard.
“YESSS... Jayson!" She screams as she rides me faster.
I glance at the moon which is still bright, but off its peak. I replace Sarah’s eyes and feel it inside. I feel the changes come.
Her pussy tightens again and I feel my canines grow. "Tell me when, baby." I gaze at her as she pants and moans
"God. Yes... Jayson... now..."
I smile, showing my teeth and grab her neck. I tilt her head to expose her neck and sink my canines into her skin.
Her screams and that tight pussy causes me to growl. Her orgasm rushes out and she digs her nails into my shoulders as I hang onto her neck until I'm sure my mark is implanted. I'm so close I can't fucking stand it. I withdraw my teeth and lick the blood away.
"Your turn, baby." She smiles and her perfect little canines are on full display. I tilt my head and she licks my spot. "Do it, baby. Now." I continue stroking her. My stomach tightens, my dick swells then I feel her amazing canines penetrate my shoulder.
“Holy fuck!” I growl loud as a shockwave of electric heat floods my body. My cock explodes inside her and I grunt out my release inside of her sweet pussy. It's the most intense orgasm of my fucking life. My head explodes. The back of my eyelids light up and my muscles tense. I hear her tiny growls as she hangs on implanting her mark. I feel her marking venom enter my body and my heart swells.
I'm too sensitive to move when she pulls out her teeth and licks the blood away. I pull her back by her neck.
We're both breathing heavy. Our hearts are rapidly beating with the bond. I stare into her dreamy eyes. "I love you so much, Sarah. You'll never know how much, but I plan to show you everyday."
She smiles. "I love you, too."
I rest my head on hers and smile. "And if you think we aren't having a very long conversation about this, think again, little girl."
She giggles and throws her arms around my neck. I engulf her in my arms and we hold each other as the moon moves on for another year.
Best Blue Moon ever.
