Chapter 11

(Rose)

School passed by without any issues and now I’m walking towards the pack house. The pack clinic was located in the south wing of the pack house. This is because it is centrally located in the pack, which makes it the most convenient location for the whole pack.

As I don’t have a wolf, I don’t normally go to the pack house unless it’s requested for all pack members to be present. And that is not often. By avoiding the pack house I also avoid Ashlee and her gang, as they spend most of their time here with John.

I get to the door and as I reach for the handle, it opens from the inside. I get shoved back and fall to the ground. I look to see who shoved me, and am greeted with Ashlee’s red heel to my stomach.

“What do you think you are doing here? I can’t even get away from you after school!” Ashlee exclaims.

“I’m just here to see the pack doctor,” I tell her.

“Seeing as you don’t have a wolf, I think you should visit a human doctor. You look perfectly fine to me.” She says with a smirk.

“I’ll get out of your way as soon as I see the doctor, then you won’t have to see me all weekend.” I reply.

“I think I’ll give you a reason to see the doctor. I always let you get away without any injuries, but seeing you here now has really upset me. You caused the Alpha to humiliate me in front of the whole pack. I am still upset about it and now I want to release my anger,” she says with a smirk.

She picks up her foot and begins kicking me in the stomach over and over again. I’m sure she has broken some of my bones.

She then grabs my hair and pulls me up, “You have no right to be here and I’ll be sure that you leave as soon as I become Luna,” She says as she punches me in the face.

I felt my nose break on impact. There is b***d everywhere. I’m clutching my face as I hear a growl. So ferocious it terrified me.

“What the hell is going on out here?” I hear. I look up to see Alpha Jake walking towards us from the forest.

“Oh nothing, this no wolf was trying to come into the pack house without reason, so I made sure she wouldn’t contaminate the place,” Ashlee explains.s.

“What gives you that right? As I already said, you will never be Luna of my pack. You need to get that thought out of your head.” He tells her. He then looks at me.

“Rose, are you okay? Can you walk?” He asks me. I try to get up and stumble. I shake my head no, with the pain in my sides and stomach I can barely sit up. He nods and asks for someone to run inside and get the pack doctor.

“Why do you care so much about her? She has no wolf and isn’t even a true pack member?” Ashlee asks.

“She is as much a pack member as you are. She has been here since she was a newborn and I care about all members of my pack.” Alpha Jake responds.

As soon as the pack doctor arrives, he approaches me. “I thought we were just doing a simple b***d draw, but now I think I will need to make this an intake and may need to keep you overnight. I will know more once I get you inside and can evaluate the damage more.” He tells me.

“Alpha she can not walk. Would you be able to carry her into the clinic for me?” Doctor Owen asks.

“Yes I can do that. What room do you want her in?” Alpha asks.

“Room 6 is open, take her there, I’ll be right behind you,” he answers.

Alpha Jake walks over to me. “This may hurt and I’m sorry but I have to get you inside,“ Alpha Jake tells me.

I nod my head at him and grit my teeth, preparing for the pain. He cradles me in his arms and it hurts so badly, I wish they had just left me on the ground outside the pack house.

He gets to room 6 and places me on the bed. As the doctor walks in, he starts getting some equipment ready.

“Rose before we start, the pain meds may make you sleepy. I want to know what happened,” Doctor Owen tells me.

“I don’t really know. I was just walking here to get some b***d work done. When I walked up to open the door, Ashlee opened it first. She started yelling at me and telling me I had no reason to see the doctor and that she would give me a reason to need a doctor. She said she has always taken it easy on me.” I tell them.

Doctor Owen nods at me. “Well here is a pain med, you are going to need it. I can already tell that your nose is broken and will have to be reset. And I’m sure you have a few broken ribs, I can’t do much for them. You will need to take it easy for the next few weeks. “Since you don’t have an active wolf, it will take longer to heal,” he says.

“An active wolf?” I question him.

He looks at me with curiosity. “Yes, an active wolf. Most members don’t know this but I have alpha b***d, and I can smell your wolf,” he tells me.

“We will let you rest now. I will call your parents to inform them of what happened. I’m sure they will want to be here. And we will do the b***d draw and send the information into the database.” Alpha says to me.

“When you wake we will discuss what to do with Ashlee, and if you need to stay for observation,” Dr Owen tells me.

My eyes are starting to feel heavy so I just nod at him and the doctor. As I close my eyes I hear that voice again…

“Rose, Rose, Rose…. What did they do to you?”
