Chapter 30

(Rose)

I sit down with the King, Queen, Alpha, and Luna. I sigh as I sit down. Craig comes over and has a seat with us. He takes the chair next to me.

“So Rose, how was the walk other than the foul smell?” Alpha asks me.

I smile at him.

“It was amazing, I have never ridden a wolf before. It was the most amazing feeling; I hope my wolf comes forward soon so that I can change on my own.” I tell them all.

Alpha looks at me and smiles. “I think she will make her appearance when she is ready. You also have a birthday coming up soon so maybe she is waiting for that.” He tells me.

“Oh, a birthday? When is your birthday Rose?” The Queen asks me.

I smile at her; “I actually share a birthday with Ash. It is on Saturday, and I will be 18.”

She smiles at me.

“Well it looks like we will have to add to the festivities so that you have a memorable birthday as well.” She tells me.

I look at her in shock.

“Oh no, there is no need to add or change things for me! I am okay with just joining into the plans that are already in place for Ash,” I say to her.

“Nonsense, we will have a celebration for you as well! The packs will all be here on Friday. So I think we will do your celebration on Friday, and Ash’s on Saturday as planned. The few things that were planned Friday can still happen.” The King says to us.

“Looks like we need to go shopping for another dress!” The Queen says with a smile.

“Oh great,” I mumble under my breath. Craig hears me and laughs.

“I think it sounds like fun.” Luna says, while watching Craig and I.

As the adults continue to talk, I space out. I feel strange. My body feels off and I’m completely confused as to what has happened.

Do I have a mate?

Is Ash my mate?

Does he know?

Is this all one-sided?

Who is my wolf?

When will she come out?

Why is there so much on my mind?

“Rose? Are you okay?” Luna Liz asks me.

“Yeah, I’m fine,” I tell her. “I just have a lot on my mind and I don’t understand most of it.”

Alpha Jake looks at me with a smile.

“I may have a few answers for you. Why don’t we all go in and talk a little more?” He says to me.

“Yes, I think that would be helpful. I had my guards link me and they noticed the scent you had described earlier, and they discovered it was in fact vampires. It looks like there are about 10 of them that are camped out around our borders, so we will be stationed around there to keep an eye on them. As of now, there is no threat to us.” The King says to us.

We all nod and head inside. As the King and Queen enter the study, we follow them. We all sit in the chairs around the room. The kitchen staff brings in some tea for all of us.

“So Rose, I was correct in thinking that we could get answers by doing some b***d work. We were able to locate some information on your history. I have already talked to the King about it, and he agrees that we need to tell you now. Before you are put through any more changes.” Alpha Jake tells me.

“Rose, what do you know about the history of wolves? I think if we know what you understand, we can better explain things. This will enable us to answer all your questions to the extent of our abilities.” The King says to me.

“Well, I know that Selene the moon goddess created werewolves. That we were created to protect her stone. The stone that holds her powers. She designed it to keep them away from her sister Sol, who is also a goddess. But she is not kind and tried to use her powers for terrible things. She created vampires to fight against the werewolves, and to get the stone.”

To make sure the stone cannot be found. Selene created a magical being. One that is made with her powers and is a part of her. It is her wolf, Lilly. Like the goddess, she has many powers, and can protect the stone best. She picks her human part when there is about to be a war. She hasn’t been around for years, but we also haven’t had a war for many years.”

“That is about all that I know.” I finish telling them.

When I look at them, they are all shocked and looking at me funny.

“What’s wrong?” I ask them all.

“How do you know all of that?” The King asks me.

“Well, I learned some of it in the many dreams I have now had, and some of it I learned in a book that I found in my school library.” I answer.

“You have had more than one dream?” Alpha Jake asks me.

“Yeah, I have.” I say.

I then tell them all about the other dreams I have had.

“Well that answers our question. Now we have some information for you.” The King says with a smile.

“Many years ago, there were royals. They were the most powerful of us all! They had all been blessed by the goddess herself. Well their children carried on these gifts and some were even blessed by the goddess with more than one power. The royals were hunted and killed by vampires many years ago. However, there was one couple. Michelle and Kevin, they were never found. They fled the kingdom when the attacks started.” Alpha Jake tells us.

“As we researched them. We realized that Michelle had been seen by the pack doctor a few days before the attack. So we looked into the records. She had just found out she was pregnant.” King James tells me.

My eyes go wide and I gasp.

“This all happened almost eighteen years ago. Which would be about the time you were conceived Rose, and with your b***d work, it matches perfectly with Michelle and Kevin.” Alpha Jake says.

“I became King after all the royals were murdered due to my ranking in the royal pack.” The King says to me.

“But my dear Rose, I do believe that this Kingdom belongs to you. If you want it that is.” He finishes.

I am shocked! I’m speechless; I just stare at them all.

I’m a royal?

I found out who my parents are and why all the strange things have been happening to me. Not only do I have a wolf, I have one that has been blessed by the goddess.

“Um, I don’t think I want your kingdom,” I say to them. “But I think I realized something else. I don’t believe that I am only a royal.”

“I believe that Lilly, the goddess’s wolf, has chosen me. I think I have become the most powerful being in many years. And I think that is why the vampires are here. I believe that they can feel the difference within me.”

“So, when do you guys think that my wolf will become active?” I ask after a few moments of silence.

“Well the Royals were known to acquire their wolf at eighteen, due to the powers that they have.” The King says to me with a smile.

“So, I should gain my wolf completely on Saturday?” I ask them and they all nod at me.

“She can’t be a royal! They all died!” we hear being yelled as the door opens.

And Ash walks in, looking very angry.
